The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator comes with all the features you'd expect from a refrigerator in this price range. It has Wi-Fi, app support and GE's SmartHQ Software. The app, available for iOS and Android devices, lets you control your fridge from anywhere in world, and it has numerous options for customization. It will also send notifications when the door is left unlocked, when the fridge or freezer must be defrosted and when the filter requires a change.

It would be great if GE PYE22PYNFS offered Precise fill, an option available in a handful of GE refrigerators that allows users to set the amount of cups they wish to dispense. The fridge shows a countdown to display how much water remains, but it's not as effective as Precise fill.

Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

Created to appear like a seamless part of your kitchen Bosch's French-door refrigerator looks seamless and is a standout. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also comes with a veggie compartment that helps keep fruits and vegetables fresher longer and dual compressors for the best preservation of food. The ice maker we tested was one of the most efficient and makes pyramid shaped ice using minimal water. This fridge is the perfect option for a single family or kitchenettes who want a built-in look and top of the line food preservation.

This fridge was the top-rated refrigerator in our Refrigerators test for various reasons. The freezer temperature remained steady at just above 0°F and never changed by more than a fraction, this is crucial to prevent freezing burn. The fridge section of the refrigerator also performed well. It reached the temperature it was set within an hour, and maintained that temperature throughout our testing.

The top shelf on the right can be folded down to make space for tall items. You'll also find a full-width deli drawer and an internal water dispenser.

This refrigerator has a freezer with an ice maker making it easy to transfer the ice when needed. The freezer features thoughtful design elements, too, like sliding drawers to help you better organize the position of items. It comes with a large bin for storing frozen food and a separate container for ice.

This feature can be adjusted using a slider located outside the drawer. You can also alter the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I have found that the general settings work better than the specific ones.

During my tests, the temperature of the refrigerator were fairly constant across the different areas of the fridge. The temperatures in the top, bottom and middle of the refrigerator did not differ significantly from 38 degrees. This is a pretty good performance however it doesn't make it into the top ten in our ratings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. The fridge can be linked with a smart thermostat to obtain more precise readings of the internal temperature of your fridge.

The Frigidaire FGHB2866PF's exterior is made of grey-bodied stainless steel which has a "smudge-proof" finish. It is capable of preventing streaks and fingerprints from appearing, even compared to shiny stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tried.
