The Band Toto Asia

Toto was expanding its production facilities abroad and doing business in France, Germany, Indonesia, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and the People's Republic of China. The company saw North America as a growth market for Washlet bidets and toilets, as opposed to its "base" markets of Japan and China.

Dhaniram Toto was recording Toto words to ensure the future generations could comprehend the words. Many words were replaced with foreign words. For instance, dui, which is Bengali for verandah was being used.

Origins

Toto's early history, which began in 1917, was a reflection of Japan's economic growth. In the beginning of its existence, the company manufactured products to meet the demand for modern and contemporary urban housing. It used the first tunnel kilns in the country to produce ceramics continuously. It also pioneered automation to allow production control, which allows for greater efficiency and consistency.

In the latter half of the 1980s, the company began expanding outwards to take advantage of sales and new markets. The company founded the Cera Trading Company to import and market other products of other manufacturers to complement its own line of sanitary earthenwares as well as plumbing fittings. This strategy increased sales and expanded the market share of the company globally.

In the 1990s, Toto had shifted its emphasis on research and development for household appliances that are water-related. It also improved its distribution system to better meet the needs of customers and to increase profits. The company embraced a just-in time approach to managing its supply chain and applied the same method in its sales strategy. This resulted in a higher degree of customer satisfaction.

Toto continues to invent in the toilet technology. The latest toilet, for example is equipped with a strong tornado flush that is more ecologically green than traditional toilets. The company also uses recycled water in its manufacturing process and has a green purchasing policy. Toto also manufactures bathtubs, faucets, and hand dryers with higher energy efficiency than conventional models.

The first museum of the company was opened in the year 2015 and features exhibits on Toto's seminal products and their development and its group companies (all that deal with ceramics), history of plumbing and other products like bath units and, in a separate gallery, Toto products sold around the world. The museum houses a bathroom with a washbasin and other toilet innovations.

Before beginning the formation of Toto members of the group performed sessions with various musicians. Boz Scaggs' album Silk Degrees featured keyboardist David Paich and guitarists Mike Porcaro & Steve Lukather and drummer Jeff Porcaro & Steve Lukather. They also appeared on records by Steely Don, Seals and Crofts and Sonny and Cher.

Discography

You would expect a group with a name like Asia to be a prog rock band, but it is actually a relatively straightforward rock outfit. The group began as a group and recorded two albums - 1979's self titled debut, and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. The group has a wide musical background but their biggest success came in 1982 with Toto IV.

The album was a huge blockbuster but not without its issues. Record companies put the band on place with the directive "give us a hit record or we'll take you off the market" and the pressure was on to meet the deadline. Luckily for Toto, they did and they did it with the aid of the smash single "Africa."

Toto's musical mastery is the result of their previous experience. Before forming the group, the members worked as session musicians for artists such as Boz Scaggs. Steely Dan and Seals and Crofts. Their distinctive sound has become the standard for the '80s, and has influenced many contemporary artists.

The album starts out hard with songs like Running Out of Time or Unknown Soldier that show the band's ability to create great AOR tunes that slowly get into your head. However, the album also includes some slower, more jazzy tracks like The Little Things and Chinatown. The album closes with Great Expectations, a song that combines folk with distortion AOR and sounds totally wrong, but works amazingly well.

After Toto IV The band's fortunes took a turn for the worse. David Hungate left the band to pursue a solo career, and the band was dominated by drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball left the group due to drug charges. The band remained with Michael Porcaro, Steve Lukather and Michael Porcaro.

Toto released Isolation despite the turbulence. It wasn't as popular as IV. However, the band managed to release another chart-topping album in 1992, Kingdom of Desire. This album marked the end of the original Toto lineup and was the first album featuring a new singer, Simon Phillips.

Tours

The band has performed to millions of people across the world, performing sold-out shows in Europe, North America and Asia as well as Australia and New Zealand. The band has a wide collection of songs, and their catalog has been played over one billion times on streaming services around the globe. The band's iconic music has influenced multiple generations of fans.

Steve Lukather and Joe Williams have forged a deep, colorful friendship that thrives professionally on a global scale. In 2018 the duo celebrated their 40th anniversary of Tours Around the Sun with a wildly successful global tour. The album with the same title reached #5 on Billboard 200. The new tour by the band includes their best hits and rarely performed live deep cuts, along with some of the songs from Lukather and Williams' individual catalogs.

TOTO has a customer satisfaction rating of 20 according to its Net Promoter Score which measures how likely customers are to recommend the brand. Promoters are those who praise the company and actively encourage others to utilize their products or services. Detractors are those who judge the company poorly, and can even actively hinder others from using their services or products.

Join Toto for an unforgettable cultural experience in Asia. This highlights tour offers luxury accommodations, a day aboard an elegant cruise ship on Halong Bay and an exploration of Angkor Wat, a mystical temple that is what the French called Indochine. You'll also spend one night in the charming town of Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage city that is a feast for the senses. This is an unforgettable journey which you'll never want to miss!

Line-up

Turn Back, the band's third studio album, was a return to a traditional sextet style and it was a more consistent, more powerful effort that had a more grittier edge. Its edgier sound was indicative of the maturation of group and featured drummer Bobby Kimball's greater virtuosity on drums, and an improved, mature vocal delivery from singer Joseph Williams. David Paich's work was more refined, sharper and less cloying than previously recorded performances.

After touring to promote their album, the group recorded an Amsterdam live performance that was released on Eagle Records as a 2-CD set titled Falling In Between. The group released a new studio album a few months later and then embarked on a tour around the world to support it. During this time, keyboardist Greg Phillinganes filled in for Paich and bassist David Hungate left the group to spend more time with his family.

In 1998, Paich & Lukather began exploring old tapes and demos to find songs that hadn't been recorded before. The album was released as a double-album titled Then and Now in 2001. It was the band's first album that did not contain one single track titled "A". The album also contained a previously unreleased track called "Kari-Anne".

By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The fourth album, Old Is New, was a commercial flop and the vocalist Williams suffered from a bad laryngitis condition which limited his singing capabilities. Hungate also returned to Nashville and Leland Sklar's drumming was replaced by Shem Von Schroeck.

Downes, Wetton Palmer and Howe, the original members of Asia, met in England early in 2006 to discuss the possibility that the band could be revived. ????? ?? , which was minus Howe (who was a member of Yes at the time) was eventually referred to as Toto XIV and toured extensively.

In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The band also featured the appearance of singer Michael McDonald, and a backing singer named Mabvuto Carpenter.
