French-door fridges combine form and function. They feature stylish double doors that show a large fridge on top and a freezer drawer below. These refrigerators stand out due to their unique features, including through-the-door dispensers as well as higher-end Ice makers.

Inside the fridge, there are 17 shelves and compartments. The fridge compartment is 18.5 cubic feet, which is the standard for a fridge with a French door at this price. It also has an adequate-sized icemaker that is tucked away in the left-hand door, although it's not the largest I've seen.


You can alter the shelves in both compartments to create customized storage layout for what you want to keep. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS is stylish, too. Its LED lighting is a nice addition and the inside storage bins come with the third shelf, which folds down to allow you to store items that are tall. The drawers have temperature controls so you can set them for Meat, Beverage or Deli settings. They're easy to open and close, however I found their textured plastic coatings to be a little rough on the fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator has all the features you would expect from a refrigerator within this price range. This includes Wi-Fi as well as app support, and GE's SmartHQ Software. The app is available for iOS and Android devices and lets you control your refrigerator from anywhere in the globe. It also offers a lot of customization options. It will also send you notifications when the door is unlocked and when the freezer or fridge requires defrosting, and when the filter needs to be changed.

The Bosch French-door Refrigerator is a stunning piece of equipment. It's designed to look like it's a seamless component of your kitchen. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also features a veggie compartment that keeps vegetables and fruits fresher for longer periods, and two compressors to preserve food. The ice maker we tested is one of the most efficient, and it produces the shape of a pyramid using only water. This fridge is the perfect choice for single household or kitchenettes looking for a sleek design and top of the line food preservation.

This refrigerator was the highest-rated refrigerator in our Refrigerators test for a few reasons. The freezer temperatures remained steady at a level that was just above 0 degrees Fahrenheit, never changing more than a fraction of an inch. This is essential to avoiding freezer burn. The fridge's refrigerator section also performed well, achieving the desired temperature for initial set within an hour and keeping that temperature steady over the course of our tests.

Bosch has a reputation for premium appliances, so it's no surprise that this counter-depth refrigerator is also a smart appliance that has the option of connecting to your home Wi-Fi and Bosch's Home Connect platform. This app allows you to monitor and control your fridge from your tablet or smartphone. The fridge is a bit expensive, but it comes with top-quality features and functions for the cost.

While the fridge is an amazing appliance but it's important to be aware of the limitations. You might need to be creative with tall objects because the fridge has a limited shelf space. Additionally the shelves aren't completely sprillproof, and can easily be damaged or stained by sharp objects. The trays can be easily removed from the refrigerator. However, they should be cleaned regularly to prevent the growth of mold.

LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

It has a large bin for storing frozen food, and a separate bin for ice.

Another awesome feature of this refrigerator is its Smart InstaView panel. You can manage the temperature, lighting and more of your fridge from your smartphone. It's a simple method to keep track of your refrigerator and control it, especially when away from home.

The Smart InstaView feature is neat, but it doesn't necessarily improve the efficiency of the fridge. In fact it took longer to defrost and chill food in this fridge as compared to other fridges we tested. This is likely due to the greater capacity.

The doors are a different issue with this refrigerator. They have handles that are sunken on the front that allow smaller people to open them from the bottom, but they're not easy for taller people to pull closed without slamming them. It would have been more effective to have front-mounted handles.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX is a excellent choice for those who want to combine the benefits of a fridge with a French door with an efficient layout. It has a capacity that is higher than average for counter-depth models and is able to cool evenly. It's also less expensive than the best counter-depth refrigerator with an ice maker, which can make it an attractive option.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

If you're looking for an French door refrigerator that won't break the bank, this Frigidaire is a good choice. This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. This fridge can be paired with a smart thermostat to obtain more precise readings of the internal temperature of your fridge.

The exterior of the Frigidaire is made of grey-bodied stainless that has a "smudge proof" finish. It is capable of preventing streaks and fingerprints from appearing, even compared to glossier stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tested.
