Path of Exile Item Upgrades

The performance of many Path of Exile items can be improved by upgrading their performance. They can cause additional damage, AD or even affixes.

Rare-grade equipment can be superior to upgraded Common or Magic equipment due to their high demands.

Armor

Armor upgrades can be applied to both weapon and armor items. They increase the effectiveness of the item that they're connected to. Armor upgrades can be found in the world of the game and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. Additionally, they can be salvaged from items that have upgrade components within them by with a professional or higher salvage kit.

The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it can absorb. The ability to absorb damage of a piece armor will increase as it is upgraded to its maximum upgrade level. However, it's important keep in mind that this will increase its weight, which will cause it to weigh more than before.

There are a few different kinds of armor upgrades that are that are available in the game and each one has distinct effects. Certain upgrades grant armor a greater amount of health points while others make it stronger and lighter. The kind of armor upgrade an item can receive will be indicated by the name of the upgrade as indicated in the table below.

A few upgrades are magic or a hybrid of technology and magic which is identified by an "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Certain upgrades require charges for use. They are referred to as "Charges" entries in the table. These charges are either continuously updated or never expire based on the upgrade.

The cheapest way to upgrade armor is to use Iron Ore, which can be obtained by exploring the environment and looting small loot chests. Titanium is more expensive however, it is available at the smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, like the Reforge and the Hot Potato Books, can only be applied to high-level armor pieces. These upgrades can provide significant improvements in stats and are worth the cost.

The player should be aware that upgrading a piece up to the maximum upgrade level can boost its defense. However, it will also affect the speed and agility of the piece. It is not recommended to upgrade armor above +9. The defensive boost gained usually isn't worth the weight and power expenses of the upgrades.

Weapons

Weapon upgrades give players to enhance certain aspects of their weapon. Upgrades can increase the accuracy of a rifle, or the damage that shotgun shells cause. Certain firearms also have enhancements that enhance their intrinsic qualities. Frictionless materials (improves stability, and reduces the risk of overheating), and Kinetic coils (increases the projectile's velocity for greater damage) are two examples.

Most weapon upgrades require one of three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons, and a whetblade. These are obtained through either completing Side Quests, taking out a certain number of bosses or monsters, or through the Weapon Upgrade NPC in Central Flarine.

To upgrade a weapon, equipment set piece, or Whetblade You must go to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine, and pay her an upgrade fee that is a certain amount of bars. The higher the upgrade level, the higher the number of bars required to complete it. The cost of the upgrades will be lower if have more than one of the relevant upgrade materials.

In Chapter 2: Season 5, the ways to upgrade your weapon and equipment sets changed a little. Prior to Chapter 2 Season 5, you could upgrade your weapon or equipment by paying a specific amount of Bars. You could do this until the weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level at which point the upgrades would reset.

It's still possible, but it relies heavily on RNG. It is better to purchase gear with minimal upgrade levels and high base scores and stat distributions. These items will have a greater chance of giving you the highest level of advantages and benefits.

To increase item upgrade , players usually prioritise upgrading their weapons. Players should also upgrade the weapons that their squadmates utilize to increase their power. Shepard, for example should upgrade his M92F in order to unlock the Beretta M93R. This will make the weapon more useful when used by biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.

Jewels

Jewels are utilized in the sockets of armor and weapons, increasing a stat and providing secondary effects. They can be created through a process called jewelry crafting, in which you combine a gemstone and various reagents at a jewelry table. The higher the quality of the gem, the greater the secondary effect. These reagents are available from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses all over the world, or through collecting Legendary Gear. You can also buy them from The Jeweler in exchange for gold and Scattered Prisms.

The Jeweler can boost the quality of gemstones in stages ranging from Crude up to Royal. The stat boosts will vary according to the tier that the jewel is in when it's slotted into weapons, jewelry, or gear.

All tiers of jewels can be crafted at the Jeweler however, there are some exceptions to this, such as the rare and legendary jewels which require you to be at a certain level to obtain them. Jewels can be substituted with another jewel without damaging the original. You can only replace the jewel only once in a piece of equipment.

It is common to use more gems for aesthetic reasons. Jewels also enhance performance and make a harder surface than metal so that repeated friction from pivots does not cause damage to them.

A Glyphmaster can offer glyphs to improve the appearance of your weapons and shields. They offer a small benefit and can be swapped freely however they aren't guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs, like jewelry, can be upgraded by the Jeweler in exchange for gold and Scattered Crystals. Glyphs can also be taken out and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as traits and aegis aren't swappable and can only be retrieved using an Upgrade Extractor, or by salvaging them using Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage Tool.

Trinkets

Trinkets can be used to give your character various small, but useful benefits. They can be acquired starting in the beginning areas as loot, personal story rewards, from vendors, or by performing road interactions. They can be purchased from the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.

The first trinket a player is able to unlock is the cloak, which gives a small, but valuable boost to speed of movement and the ability to escape. After that, they'll be able to purchase amulets, rings and necklaces in a similar manner to the way a player acquires armor and weapons. Every piece of equipment has an upgrade slot that is either universal or jewel. Universal upgrades offer smaller bonuses and can be placed in any kind of equipment however, jewelry cannot be replaced or upgraded and is only compatible with certain types of trinkets.

These trinkets also provide additional buffs and skills that remain active whenever the hero is not fighting. This allows a hero to be more efficient while inactive. It also helps compensate for the absence of strong slots in the team or talent tree which would normally be filled by the hero's best stats.

In general trinket upgrades should be a priority BiS (Best in Slot) items you won't replace soon. Then, you should consider any items with desirable stats that are less significant than the iLevel for the item that is to be upgraded. This is especially true when you're looking to upgrade several statistics on an item. It is best to upgrade just one crucial stat than two less important ones.

In the beginning of the game junglers will usually want to upgrade their trinket into a red one, while top and mid players will usually opt for the pink or green ward (depending on the game's matchup). These choices will have a major impact on the hero's map control abilities.

In addition to the items listed above, players will also find other trinkets in the form of rewards and trophies throughout the game. These can be obtained through completing certain milestones in the story, for instance completing a chapter's main quest or killing a certain boss. You can check them out by clicking on the achievement in the reward section of the hero's menu.
