Top Robot Vacuums and Mop Combos

Robots aren't quite as adept in removing debris such as metal screws or pieces of pasta. But they're excellent at brushing away pet hair, dust, and dust. The most effective models come with smart navigation technology and a feature to avoid objects that allow them to maneuver around toys, cords and other obstacles in the household.

1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The iRobot Roomba i3+ is an excellent robot vacuum that has several smart features that make it easier to maintain. Its automatic bin emptying is one of the most useful features we've encountered in an iRobot and it is compatible on both hard floors and carpets. It's also simple to set up and operate, with the app guiding you through the process step-by-step. Its ability to restart the same place it left off during our tests is an additional impressive feature. It could do this for 77 minute on one cleaning, and then the battery ran out.

Unlike some of the other robovacs we've evaluated, the i3+ EVO comes with an automatic emptying bin that dumps debris into an external dirt compartment on the base of its charging when it's full. The i3+ EVO can be prevented from overfilling by a self-emptying bin. However it must be emptied manually at the end of each cleaning session. The i3+ EVO dust bin can hold 2.4L which will last for four to five cleaning sessions.

Like the i7, this model uses state-of-the-art floor sensors to create maps and navigate in neat rows. However, the i3+ EVO only stores a single map while the i7 is able to store multiple maps. The i7 can also use its map to create no-go zones as well as virtual barriers, but the i3+ EVO is not able to do this.

The i3+ EVO does a better job of removing debris from the surface in comparison to other robovacs that we have examined, but it's not the best at cleaning corners and edges. It's also less gentle on furniture, despite being fairly quiet. It was a bit rough on furniture, as it pushed chairs away. It also caused collisions with the sides of the test bed.


2. Black & Decker Q5 Pro

Whether you're expanding your collection of robot vacuums or just starting out, the Q5 Pro is a great option. It has a sleek design with powerful navigation and efficient automation at a low cost. It's the best pound-for-pound model available today and even matches some of Roborock's much pricier models in many ways.

This robot does a fantastic job of cleaning floors that are not clean and its avoidance system helps it steer clear of furniture legs and other obstacles. It also performs well on carpets, and earns a high score for our tests of navigation. The only issue is that it's a little louder than other models we test and doesn't perform similarly in our user satisfaction and predicted reliability assessments.

The Q5 Pro has a very large dust bin that is 770ml, which means you won't have to empty it as often as other 2-in-1 robots. The 240-minute runtime is quite generous in comparison to other robots we've tested. When the battery is low, it will automatically return to its dock where it recharges and then resumes cleaning where it was when it stopped. You can control the Q5 Pro using the app or voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

This is the first robot we've seen with 3D mapping. This, along with other innovations, helped it perform exceptionally well in our vacuuming tests and mopping test. You can schedule cleaning times, set no-go zones, and check the status of the battery among other things. The app is simple to use, but it isn't compatible with Apple HomeKit and that feature is slated to be added by 2025. As of early November, Apple has updated a footnote on its website to note that the feature will be delayed until 2025. HomeKit isn't compatible with other robots, however Siri Shortcuts are.

3. TP-Link Tapo RV30 Plus

The TP-Link Tapo R30 Plus robot vacuum cleaner is a fantastic option if you're looking for a machine that can also mop and is reasonably priced. It is stylish in design and amazing features for the money. You can control it with the buttons on the device using the app, or even by using voice commands. The device is powered by batteries, and the vacuum container is able to automatically empty itself.

The TP-Link RV30 Plus does a very good job at vacuuming standard messes and is suitable for light mopping on hard floors. It comes with a replacement mopping cloth and the sweeping brush as well as an HEPA filter. It can be connected to a smart hub like Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant to provide voice control. The TP-Link RV30 Plus is easy to set up and can be connected to a range of floor surfaces using the automatic mode. This assures that the most effective results are achieved for every room and floor.

And the well-designed base station nearly completely automates the cleaning process. It provides excellent obstacle avoidance and navigation.

This model uses an internal dToF LiDAR sensor to create a map of your home, resulting in efficient cleaning routes. The iMop was highly rated for its accuracy and navigation. It also did a great job in avoiding obstacles like furniture. It's also able to locate its way back to the base station, which is a great feature in the event that it's running out of battery during a cleaning session.

The spot cleaning mode lets you to clean a specific area on your floor. And it can be manually programmed to follow a specific route, which is helpful for narrow hallways or stairs. In our carpet cleaning test it was successful in cleaning carpets. However, it was unable to clean rugs and carpets with larger piles. It is possible to set it up to lift the mop pad automatically when it comes in contact with carpet. This is a fantastic feature for those who wish to avoid having to mop their carpets.

The iMop features an onboard dust bin as well as a water tank that it is filled and refilled at the end of each cleaning session.
