It comes with a large charging dock that can last for several weeks without having to be empty and boasts impressive navigation skills and auto-emptying on both carpets and floors. It's also got a smart-mapping feature and can be programmed to operate at certain times of the day (a useful feature that can keep the sly kids and pets from causing chaos). The Shark has less powerful suction than other mop/robot combos, but its still very good at picking up hair and pet hair. It is the most affordable of our top picks.

Best for Hard Flooring

Robot vacuums are a great pick for hardwood floors because they are able to easily maneuver around obstacles and not damage the floor's surface. They are capable of removing crumbs and dust, but they aren't able to handle pet hair and larger debris. They also lack the suction power of a top-of-the-line upright or canister vacuum, which is why they're not the ideal choice for carpeted rooms or upholstery that needs deep cleaning.
