Toto is the company that manufactures the elegant Japanese toilets known as Washlets. These toilets have a bidet, heated seat and deodorizer, in addition to other things.

Before the formation of Toto the members of the group did session work for Steely Dan, [3] Seals and Crofts,[4and Boz Scaggs and Sonny and Cher. The guitarist Steve Lukather is the band's singer.

About Toto

The group Toto was formed in 1976 by guitarists Jeff Porcaro and David Paich (who were also highly acclaimed studio musicians who worked with Boz Scaggs at the time) and singer/bassist Bobby Kimball. The group took their name from a Latin word that translates to "all-encompassing" and was determined to explore every musical style.

Toto's third release, Turn Back, was a failure in 1981. However they made amends with their fourth release, Isolation, which contained two hits with the title track and Roseanna. The album and the tour helped them become a household name across the globe.

After a brief break, Toto returns with the album Fahrenheit. The album is a departure from the ballads that were featured on previous albums, and also features some heavy rock. It was their first platinum album in North America.

During the recording of the band's fifth album, the band loses their manager and are put in financial difficulty. They decide to record a brand new album and change their name a different producer. The lead singer Fergie Frederiksen is let go and replaced by Joseph Williams, son of legendary film composer John Williams and 1950s actress Barbara Ruick. Joseph Williams is a natural frontman and gives the band much-needed boost.

The band released Mindfields in 1999, and then embarks on a major tour across the globe. After a few weeks in Europe, the band heads to Japan for sold-out shows. After a brief hiatus, Toto resumes their recording and release their first live album, Absolutely Live in 1993. This includes a cover version of Weezer’s song Hash Pipe as a response to the band covering Africa during their recent tour. Toto's touring lineup is completed by drummer Lenny Castro, bassist Shannon Forrest and keyboardist Shem von Schroeck.

Music

Toto is a rock group from America who achieved their greatest success in the 1980s. The band was created by session musicians with experience and has sold more than 40 million albums around the world.

The first album of the totos was the self-titled Toto which was released in 1978. It was a huge success that helped the band gain international fame. Since then, the band has released 14 albums that have all been huge hits.

In 1984, Toto wrote their first and, to this day only, movie score for the film Dune. It was a massive project, and the entire group was required to participate. The album that was released, Kingdom of Desire, was another successful record. After a world tour drummer Bobby Kimball left the band and was replaced by drummer Fergie Frederiksen, who was a member of Le Roux. The band continued to release their fifth studio album, Isolation. The album had a host of songs including "Stranger in Town".

After Isolation Toto was released, the band went on a absence. This gave the individual members of the band a chance to pursue solo projects. In 1996, the group reformed for a tour and album. This was the first time that all original members were on stage together for more than a decade.

The following year, Toto toured with Ringo Starr's All Starr Band. This was the last time that all of Toto's original members were together on stage at the same time. After that, the group broke up again. However, Toto reunited in 2010 to perform a benefit for the ALS Foundation. ????? ?? was the first time that all the original Toto members had been performing together for more than 31 years. The original Toto members were joined by keyboardist Greg Tambu who filled in for Paich, and bassist David Hungate who filled in for Shem von Schroeck.

Tours

Toto has remained one of the most popular rock bands for over three decades, having scored massive hits such as "Rosanna," "Hold The Line,"" and their 8X platinum smash, "Africa." With ????? ?? of influences, from progressive rock to world rhythms to soul and jazz, the group continues to please their fans with their energetic arena rock.

The band suffered several setbacks throughout their final years, despite their popularity. In 2002 the keyboardist David Paich and drummer Greg Phillinganes took a medical leave of absence. Shem von Schröeck was brought in to replace him however the band was not the same without Paich or Phillinganes. In 2008, Toto decided to take the time off from touring due to changing the lineup of their band and a disappointing string of releases. ???? ???? returned to the road in 2012 following the release of the album 40 Trips Around The Sun.

The album marked a return to the band's top form, and the tour that went with it was a sold-out event in North America and Europe. Toto's reunion was bolstered by the addition of guitarist Steve Lukather and bassist Shem von Schroeck, both of whom had joined the group.

Toto's music is as relevant now as it was in the 1970s and 1980s, as it has gained new audiences with each generation. Their success has made them a permanent presence in pop culture, and their live performances are always packed with energy and excitement.
