This is accomplished by the pre-heated tertiary heat being drawn in from the bottom of the stove and the burn rate controlled with a separate rotary air control allowing for ultra-low emissions. Coupled with a DEFRA-approved and Smoke Control Area exempt firebox and the capability to burn wood with up to 20% moisture content it is one of the most powerful large stoves available on the market.

Stovax has incorporated the classic styling of its Sheraton wood-burning stove with a contemporary, highly efficient, and low-emission combustion system to create Log Burners that blend seamlessly into both traditional and contemporary settings. To minimize the impact on your home, opt for an appliance with large flame pictures with a large window and an airwash system that keeps the glass clean.

Stovax's Huntingdon is a huge traditional stove that meets all of these requirements. The dedicated multifuel and wood-burning stoves are both DEFRA exempt and come with a high heat output. The wood-burning versions of the Huntingdon come with a choice of either a plain or chancery arched door for added flexibility, while the multi-fuel version can be purchased with an external riddling kit for easier cleaning and maintenance. Both versions are available with either a graphite or black finish making them easy to match your existing decor.

The Chilli Penguin Defrost

This 4.7kW stove can be used to defrost windows after a winter walk or to cook a meal for the family. This Ecodesign and DEFRA-exempt Stovax product incorporates three distinct features in its clean-burn system to ensure its high efficiency. Combining secondary heat retention glazing, combustion jets, and air flow diverts helps to keep the internal temperature high and thereby allowing for a more efficient burning of fuel gases. wood heater stove in turn produces lower harmful emissions and lowers the amount of particles that are released into the air.

The result is a highly efficient stove that also benefits from a stunningly large glass window that lets you see the fire from inside. There is a choice of handles in different colors and an angled chrome pedestal to complement your interior. This top loading stove has a large flat surface for the placement of kettles and pans.

The Pengiun, like all Stovax stoves, has passed all necessary tests and inspections. It can only be used to burn wood and smokeless fuels that have been approved by DEFRA. If you burn unauthorised fuels, you could be fined up to PS1,000 per hour for the amount of particulates released into the atmosphere.

This is achieved by the new clean-burn system that has been upgraded with an air-pre-heated supply that is delivered to the combustion chamber via channels and jets that are placed over the fire. The pre-heated gas ignites the volatile gases released by the fuel, leading to an entire burn that produces less harmful emissions. It also introduces an air wash, also known as a cushion of air that is directed at the glass to give you better views of the flames.

The combination of these systems means that the new Penguin complies with the strictest emission limits and is classed as an ecodesign stove. It emits less that 20 mg/m3 of carbon dioxide if you burn wood and 16 mg/m3 if you use smokeless fuels.

The Go Eco

Research has revealed that older-style wood-burning stoves emit tiny particles of soot in the air. These particles have been proven to cause poor air quality, which has been linked to lung and heart issues as well as dementia and breathing issues. The latest models are built to meet higher standards and are DEFRA approved, which means that you can still enjoy the soothing effects of a log fire in your home.

The Go Eco large wood burner is a wide version of the company's well-loved standard stove. It has a large opening to enjoy the flames and an airwash system that keeps it clean. It has an 80% energy efficiency rating and 5kW heat output. The bigger model can be installed in larger chimney openings and is suitable for a range of installation options.
