Path of Exile Item Upgrading

In Path of Exile, item upgrading is one of the best ways to improve your gear without relying on big-ticket drops or trade. This article will teach you how to upgrade your gear.

Upgrades to equipment provide an increase to the item's base stats. The bonus is according to the rarity and quality of the upgrade component.

Components

Upgrade components can make your weapons and armour better. They can be found through destroying enemies, buying them from karma sellers or finding them in items-spheres. You can also salvage them from equipment that contains the components, or by utilizing high-end salvage kits like Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components aren't destroyed when they are removed from the item.

Upgrade components are primarily used to upgrade an item however, they can also be used for other purposes. They can be stacked to boost the level or experience gained by upgrading existing equipment or weapons. They can be made for extra bonuses. For example, a crafted glyph will boost the upgrade chance of its target, whereas the boost upgrade can boost the defense or attack quality of a weapon or armor.

By selecting an upgrade template from the GUI will allow you to connect it to an item. This will show the upgrade components that the item can be updated. Alternately, you can make use of the workbench to choose an upgrade template. In either case, the item will be upgraded when enough upgrade components have been collected.

Each component is assigned an experience multiplier. This determines the amount of experience an item gains when upgraded using that component. Organic components, for instance, have an increased multiplier of experience than mechanical components. It is recommended to upgrade the organic components first, until you reach the next level in the weapon or equipment, and then switch to the mechanical upgrades.

Each item has a maximum upgrade number that can be received. The number of upgrades available is determined by the upgradeable rank and the upgrade type of the upgradeable item. For instance, the most expensive possible upgrade for a weapon is a weapon of tier 10. The most commonly used upgrade is a gun of tier 6 and a armor upgrade of tier 5.

Sets

A set is a collection of items that share a bonus. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least once, and the upgrade increases the guaranteed bonuses. The first time you upgrade an item, its initial stat will be +1. On subsequent upgrades, the primary stats will be increased even more (for instance, +1 for 12+/13+/14+) and every time an item is upgraded, one of its additional stats is increased randomly.

Upgrades to a weapon may increase the damage base, which could be crucial for certain builds. However, weapons cannot be upgraded to have a higher maximum defense roll than their normal base. It's possible to increase the value of certain set and unique items by upgrading them, but they might not always be better than a Runeword with a high level.

If the item you're upgrading has a guaranteed bonus, it can be rerolled only once and its guarantee will be reset to zero. The same power die is used to reroll an item, just as it is used to level it up. However, the new item has different bonuses. Upgrading can be done through the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in the Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you'll require a power dice of each type (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; dice 7 drops from bosses) and the right amount of Minerals and Erons. These are available at the crafting table or in the Ultra Collector and can be purchased with Gold. NPCs will also provide special rewards for each stage of the upgrade process. This reward is rerollable once, and the reroll will be made using the same materials used in the original item.

Rerolling

A player is able to play rerolling any item that they acquire in the game if they have enough tokens to be able to do so. If an upgraded item is being rerolled, it can be exchanged for the level 1 version of the same item in a different set. Reroll tokens can be bought from the store for small amounts of in-game currency, however they aren't refundable. The new upgraded item will still have the extra bonuses of the first, but its stats will differ also.

Players can change the identification of their equipment as well as rolling it again by interacting with an upgrader NPC. This will change the identity from an armored weapon to a weapon, or vice versa, while maintaining its base stats and the attributes it requires. The change will be permanent and will affect all characters who have the equipment.

The player can also upgrade the level of the item for any equipped equipment. This is accomplished by engaging with an upgrader NPC and getting upgrade items. item upgrades will cost a specific amount of crests and Valorstones according to the upgrade track and type. In the case of weapons, each step up will add an additional five percent to the damage.

Upgrades can increase the capability of an item, however they can also reduce its quality. It is therefore important to find a balance between the two. Some items aren't worth upgrading, while others require upgrades to make them more effective. A player may want to upgrade breakpoint armor with an interesting modifier ( percent block chance, or FHR) to discover what it could be.

The main reason people reroll in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game is that they're trying to obtain a particular character or weapon that they can't otherwise obtain. These items can be time-consuming and expensive to obtain and the RNG does not always work in a positive way. The only other options are to spend money or grind for a long time. Rerolling is very popular in Genshin Impact.

Leveling

You can choose whether to upgrade the weapon or armor when you upgrade an item. This feature is not available in the current version of the game. I believe it was intended to to add value to rare items, but because the majority of gear drops quickly and can only be upgraded once you've reached a certain level it is likely that you will replace the item before it gets too old. It is also not worth upgrading items using gem sockets since the power of the stone will outweigh any increment in the level of.

You will see a small box when you click the upgrade option on an item. It will show the template for the item, its crest, and the cost for Valorstone to raise the level of the item. The cost will differ between armor and weapons, with the former usually costing more than the latter. The upgrade template outlines the stats that can be added to an upgraded item along with its current ilvl.

The cost of the Valorstone and the crest is calculated based on the current Ilvl of the item as well as the upgrade templates. Additionally the ilvl of a new upgraded item will be decreased by the template's lvl decrease percentage. For instance, a weapon with an 8% upgrade decrease will decrease its count by 8-8%.

The item will get upgrades to other stats like critical strike damage, PvE damages, and block, parry and dodge rating, in addition to the base ilvl. These enhancements are also based on the upgrade template.

The amount of damage and defense that the item will receive as it gets leveled up can be observed below the upgrade cost and decrease percentages in the upgrade template window. All armor and weapons that are not practice equipment gain these stats upon leveling up. The value of these stats will be dictated by the market, with a perfectly rolled perfect version of a weapon or piece of armor can command significantly higher trade values than non-upp'd versions. The same applies to other armor pieces like circlets and tiaras.
