Door Handle Replacement

It's worth replacing door handles if you don't like the way they look or if they are difficult to use. With a little patience, you can install the new handle in no time.

Modern door handles are often equipped with cover plates that hide the screws to give them an attractive look. If the new handle doesn't have them already connected, you'll have to attach them separately.

Remove the old Handle

The door handle is not just a decorative feature for your home, but it's also an element of security that allows you to lock and unlock the door. But, over time, your door handle may lose its grip, become loose, or look old and worn out. This is a sign that it's probably time to replace it.

If your door handle is becoming difficult to use, it could be time to replace it. This is a serious problem since you won't be able to lock or unlock the door, which could put your family and yourself at risk.

Now you can prepare the new strike plate for installation. Using the screws made of wood that were included with your new handles, attach the latch plate to the inside of the doorjamb. Do not overtighten your screws because this could cause damage to the strike plate.

If the door is still moving or jiggling, then you may need to increase the size of the hole for latching in the strike plate. Removing the Latch
