Why Buy a 3 Wheeler Buggy?

If you enjoy a morning jog a three-wheel buggy may be a good option for you. 3 wheel pushchair come with larger wheels that provide the ride with more comfort, however they can be heavier and require a larger car boot.

If you want to use your pushchair on outdoor walks should look at models with air-filled tyres (also called pneumatic) - they cope well on uneven ground and have a swivelling front wheel that can be locked for greater stability.

What is a three-wheeler buggy?

No matter if you're driving off-road or in the city, a 3-wheel buggy offers superior maneuverability. They are simple to maneuver and change direction on the fly and have passed all tests of stability. A fabric sling seat sits comfortably inside the frame as opposed to over it like modular seats. This design delivers in lower center of gravity, which makes it easier to push and less slams on curbs (you don't have to put the same amount of weight or effort into launching your buggy off a curb). Mountain Buggy(r) comes with the first of its kind sport verso(tm) that is a three-wheeled inline chassis. It can be used as a baby carrier with a parent's view or a toddler ride-onboard.

Are you thinking of going "off-road"?

If you want to be more adventurous and get off the beaten path, it's important that your buggy can cope with rough terrain. You need a sturdy suspension system to absorb bumps and large wheels with air-filled tyres to give you a great grip on rough surfaces. A lockable front wheel is also a wonderful feature to ensure stability while running on harder surfaces.

MFM reviewer Kath put this fun-loving buggy to the ultimate test by driving it over rough dirt tracks, cobbles and grass with her newborn, and she said that "it did all of these easily and was enjoyable to run around in." The 16" rear wheels and locking "swivel" front wheel provide the perfect stability for off-road tracks or uneven surfaces. The tyres also come with built-in springs to ensure a smooth ride.

Sport verso is another world-first. It's a brilliant single buggy, but it can easily be modified to accommodate two (or more!) If your family grows, you'll be able to use the same buggy. The seats made of fabric are placed snugly inside the frame at the ideal height to evenly distribute weight. This makes for a much easier push and a more comfortable curb-pop.

Want to 'go around town Are you looking to explore the city

A 3-wheel buggy will have one wheel in front and two wheels at the back and, depending on the model, the wheel will be free to rotate or locked in place so that the buggy moves in straight lines. Their USP is that they are extremely maneuverable and easy to steer, and often come with suspension (which is useful for tricky terrain) and air-filled tyres to ensure the ride is smooth and comfortable. They are great for everyday use in cities and are able to handle kerb-popping as well as taking off road.

As with any buggy, it is crucial to drive it safely and not get distracted by a mobile phone, tablet or any other gadget. It is also important to avoid driving if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs as it can alter your reaction time and judgment. If you do have a car boot to store your buggy make sure you check the size of its footprint once it is fully folded so that it will fit inside your car.

If you want an infant stroller that can transport you from the park to shops, look for one that has an ample shopping basket and good features such as the padded handle, a sturdy brake pedal (that will stop on the slope) and a large expandable 50+ sun canopy. MFM reviewer Kath particularly liked the fabric sling seat which features an automatic lie-flat bed for newborns, and felt the seating was positioned perfectly within the frame for good weight distribution - but it was noted that the triangular frame has half as much storage space as the 4 wheeler.

Do you want to go 'in the park Are you looking to go 'in the park'?

This 3-wheeler is perfect for urban adventures because of its superb maneuverability. MFM reviewer Kath tried it out to the test and found it navigated grass, bumpy pavements and cobbles very easily. It also coped well with the kerb pops that happen around town too, as the seat of the fabric sits snugly inside the frame and at just the right height for the most effective weight distribution. It is able to easily move and lift them.

The buggy can also be used for jogging because it comes with lockable swivel wheels on the front and a'snug and stretch' tyre, which provides an easy ride. The only downside to the large wheels is it can be difficult to fold into smaller spaces. It does have some impressive storage options to make up for this! There's a large basket and a zip-up pocket at the back.
