Choosing a Stroller That's Right For You

A stroller is a four-wheeled and often foldable, chair-like carriage in which children are pushed. It's a great way to go for a leisurely run or walk outdoors.

Kidsland offers a variety of single and double strollers. The Peg Perego PrimoViaggio 3-in-1 Car Seat/Stroller is one of our best selling models.

Selecting a Stroller

Strollers are the perfect companion for parents. They allow parents to easily transport their children around town, explore the outdoors, or go through busy shopping malls. It is crucial to select the best stroller for your child and your family. Think about where and how often you will use the stroller to select one that is appropriate for you. Do you want it to go on rough terrain, fit in a compact car trunk, or navigate narrow doors? Think about whether you'll be walking in the city or hiking in the woods. After you've chosen the kind of stroller and features you'd like you can test drive different models.

Start with a few laps around the parking area to familiarize yourself with the way it handles and maneuvers. If you're planning to use it to jog, check the tires for durability and check how they handle bumps and uneven sidewalks. Then, decide if you need a basket for storage to carry essentials or a reclining seat for babies. Also, ensure that the handlebars are a comfortable height for your stride and that there's enough room in the seat to hold a child your size.

If you're planning to have more children in the future you might think about a single stroller which can be transformed into a double stroller or a stroller board for toddlers. Babylist parents tell us that one of their biggest stroller regrets is not purchasing the convertible model when they had the chance.

Also, if you're planning to use the stroller in the rain or other inclement weather make sure you have accessories such as sun canopies and rain covers that can be swiftly and easily attached. Don't forget to think about safety. Look for a five point harness system that is easy to buckle and unbuckle and secure seating and robust brakes. Also, examine the hinges to make sure there aren't sharp edges or spots where a finger might be stuck. Check that the stroller meets the safety standards of the state and local authorities. Last but not least try it out with your kid to make sure you both feel comfortable.

Strollers for One Child

If you only have one kid one stroller may be all you need. These strollers are generally smaller than the larger ones and come with the same safety features. They also come with a large canopy that shields your child from sun and wind. They are also more maneuverable and have fewer parts that may break.

If your child is in an infant car seat, a stroller with an infant carrier built in might be a good choice. These strollers have sturdy frames that can hold more than one seat and even a second baby car seat. They are generally easier to use and are less expensive upfront than double or convertible strollers.

An all-in-one stroller could be a good choice for older children. These strollers typically have a big, spacious basket which can be used to store the child's items and accommodate the majority of diaper bags. They are also easily maneuverable and narrow enough to fit inside the bathroom doorway or stall. Push Chairs And Prams can be folded and put away in a car's back or closet for quick transport.

Consider a convertible stroller when you are looking to expand your stroller with your family. They come with frames that can accommodate up to two toddler seats, or even a bassinet for a baby. (Adapters and carriers are sold separately). They're usually more expensive than single-seat strollers however, they're an excellent investment for families who wish to travel light and have flexibility in seating. The UPPAbaby Vista v2 is our top recommendation for a high-end, convertible stroller with top features and can hold up to three kids easily (age-dependent).

Strollers for Two Kids

If you have two young children it is essential to help you transport them both at the same time. There are a variety of options like tandems, side-by-sides and wagons. Many of the dual strollers we tested have the capacity to accommodate an additional child seat or even a third one if you add a piggyback ride-along board (sold separately). Tandem strollers have more configurations for different age groups and stages than side-by-side models however, they are often larger in size and heavier in weight.

Parents of twins will want a stroller with the same seating options as their children, and they will likely require a stroller that can accommodate two infant car seats at the same time, something that very few of our top-rated double strollers do. A tandem stroller is ideal for twins who are similar in age or capability. However the seating arrangement is dependent on how far the twins are in their ages and what features they prefer.

In our tests, all tandem strollers we tested were easy to maneuver with large turning radius. However, they did not turn as smoothly as a single stroller in small spaces, and may be difficult to maneuver around curbs. The majority of the strollers we tested fit through most standard doors, but they might have a narrow aisle than one stroller.

A few strollers that we tested worked with the second toddler seat however, they don't allow you to swap the seats between the two which could be beneficial if your children are at different age groups. The UPPAbaby Vista Double is an exception to this rule and it allows you to easily switch between double and single mode with its convertible frame.

Side-by-side strollers are the most popular style in our double stroller category, and we've compared some of the best options that are available. They provide the convenience of keeping both children in sight at all times, and come with plenty of storage space for your equipment. Some include parent consoles that can help you keep on top of your child's desires and needs. They're typically more expensive than a single stroller however some are priced at prices that are in line with or less than those of our top single strollers.

Strollers for Three Children

If you have three children (or a singleton and two older twins), you'll need a stroller that can fit all of them. This is a major purchase, so it's a good idea to research and search for a model that is suited to your family's size, style of living and budget.

Try the Graco Ready2GrowLX three stroller if your looking for a stroller that can grow with your children. It comes with a front-facing seat that can be used to hold bassinets for infants or car seats as well as a rear bench seat that can be converted into a toddler seat for children over 6 months of age. The seat can be used to stand up for young children. It also comes with a parent tray that has cup holders and storage compartments.

Another excellent triple stroller option is the Joovy Big Caboose. It has two car-seat-compatible, forward-facing reclined seats that can accommodate kids up to 32 inches tall. You can then add the rear seat accessory to turn it into a triple tandem stroller with a third regular seat for your oldest child. This model is particularly suited for twins or siblings close in age, in which the older one will ride in the front seat, while the younger one will be in the rear seat.

Quad strollers are a favorite among parents. They are basically double strollers with an extra seat at the back. These models aren't as easy to maneuver however they do offer more seating options compared to the standard double. The Foundations Trio Sport 4 Passenger Stroller is a great choice. It is relatively inexpensive and has received excellent reviews from parents.

Strollers can be used to transport your kids and give them a secure and comfortable space to unwind when you're out. When you're ready to purchase a stroller, you need to be aware of the differences between double and single strollers to select the right model for your family. It doesn't matter which model you choose it's important to choose a stroller with ergonomic handlebars that are comfortable to steer and push for long periods.
