World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading The upgrade option allows players to boost the gear rating of an item up to 700 points and add a final bonus. Items can be upgraded if they are in your inventory and you bring them to the Kiln. Certain items are worth upgrading due to their distinctive stats. (For instance an excellently broken point armor that is rolled can be used in melee PvP). Other items such as weapons don't change much after an upgrade and therefore aren't worth it. Weapons Weapons can be upgraded to boost their numeric stats such as the chance to crit, attack damage PvE and damage to PvP. Weapons have a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. Some weapons also have a fixed bonus which is activated when three or more identical weapons are used in a single unit. In some instances, this bonus could add up to more than the amount of damage a weapon can sustain by itself. The cost of upgrading a weapon is based on the nature of the weapon as well as its current level. For instance the weapon with a +2 rating will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while a +3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade the weapon will continue to increase until it is required to use a higher tier of Smithing Stones, at which point it will reset to one. Upgrades to weapons can also change the stats of the base. This is usually a good aspect, but it may also have negative consequences. For items that only see use in a particular build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs for instance), upgrading them may make them unusable unless you happen to have an extremely lucky roll. Armor items can be upgraded to increase their effectiveness. This can increase the base defense of a chest or helm as well as belts and gloves. These will boost their required strength and agility. Armor offers a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense%. This means that it is able to roll down to a lower value. The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats it will gain upon upgrading along with the relative value of those stats. This means that a change from an 8 attack-damage sword to an 11-attack-damage sword will result in a weapon receiving 3% of attack damage. However the 3% difference doesn't mean that it will hit 3 times less often, since it is an absolute statistic. Rerolling a weapon can be possible by pressing the green button on the item menu, using the arrows that are circling. This will roll the item and alter its stats but it won't reset the weapon's level nor connect to the status of your account. Armor A few tweaks to your armor could make a huge differences in your ability to endure. Certain sets can provide MASSIVE increases in resistance to poison, curses fire, magic, and other. This makes it easier to traverse difficult areas. In general, the more defense you have for your character, the more health you'll get from each point. So, item upgrade to upgrade your armor. To improve your armor, head to any of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains in the game, and to unlock each fountain, you must complete an additional quest that involves the Stable Trotters. Once you've done the main side quest and have completed the corresponding fountain you'll be able to contact any Great Fairy to open up the menu for upgrading your armor. Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels, and the amount of material and Rupees required to complete each will vary. You'll need anywhere between three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the first armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. The Champion Leathers, for instance, can be upgraded to an increase of 5 defense rating, which allows you to keep up in frigid conditions with a lot of adversaries. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other hand, can be upgraded as high as +20 defense to ensure you're able to withstand a rout with friends. You can't upgrade armor like weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior it is best to focus on upgrading your armor for physical strength or the power of spells. It's also a good idea to save your armor upgrades for armor you'll be wearing at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you wear for the final boss battle and the Monter Parts Merchant's mask. You can also gain advantages to your armor by presenting the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. It is generally recommended to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game. For instance, the Longsword or Battleaxe. But it's useful to have a few upgrades to the helmets and chest armor to allow you to escape some monsters. Potions Potions are liquid substances that, when consumed, provide the user with the illusion of status for a few minutes. There are five types of potions with different effects and durations. Some potions may be upgraded, enhancing their effectiveness. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by adding glowstone dust and redstone. Potion upgrades cost a specific amount of XP, which can be earned by making them using a craft table or the chest of the Alchemist. The cost of upgrading varies based on the type of potion used and the item's rarity as well as Mark Level. To upgrade a potions you need to right-click it in your inventory. There are also simmering potions made using dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone is also added to potions that are lingering to increase their effects. The table of potion ingredients is now laid out more in line with the Java Edition, and new potions were added such as the potion of leaping, the decomposition potion, and turtle master potions. Trinkets A trinket is a small and inexpensive ornament or piece of jewelry. It can also refer to a piece of art or a decoration that serves a purpose, but isn't particularly significant like a thimble. In certain cultures, a trinket is a way to express affection or friendship between family members. In addition to armor, weapons, and potions, players are able to upgrade their trinkets. They can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate amount in currency. Trinkets, unlike other items that can be upgraded can be swapped at will without losing stats. The upgrade vendors can be found in major cities and the capital of each zone, as well as in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are available with gold, tokens or fragments of rare trinkets. Upgrades are a cost-effective alternative to purchasing a new trinket. It can be done by the player for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket comes with the same level of base as the old trinket but it also comes with an additional 1% bonus upgrade. Once the old Trinkets are no longer usable, they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase both their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players, making them an attractive alternative to gold. In general players should upgrade their highest priority items first. This usually means the best-in-slot items for their class, followed by their secondary items and finally, other items of gear they won't replace in the near future (for instance, a ring or cloak). Players should also take into consideration their class's preferred stats when selecting which items to upgrade. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats to a tank player, then they should upgrade their chest, helm and shoulders. After they've become unusable, trinkets can be upgraded to a higher level. The new trinket comes with an additional 1% bonus. A re-upgrade, however, will cause the trinket to be destroyed unless it can be salvaged using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a higher tier salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets are more expensive than other upgrades but still less expensive than purchasing an entirely new trinket.
