Path of Exile Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a common and crucial method to enhance the performance of numerous items in Path of Exile. They can be a great source of damage or more AD or even more attaches.

Often times however upgraded Common and Magic gear is beaten out by Rare-grade equipment due to their high requirements.

Armor

Armor upgrades can be applied to both weapon and armor items. They improve the effectiveness of the item they are connected to. Armor upgrades are found in the world of the game and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. They can also be salvaged by using a professional or higher salvage kit to retrieve upgrade components from items.

The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it can absorb. The absorption of damage by a piece armor will increase when it's upgraded to its maximum upgrade level. However, it's important to be aware that this upgrade will increase its weight, causing it to weigh more than before.

There are many different kinds of armor upgrades available in the game. Each has a different effect. For instance, some upgrades will give the armor a certain number of health points while others will make it stronger and lighter. The type of armor upgrade that an item can receive is indicated by the name of the upgrade as illustrated in the table below.

Certain upgrades require magic or a hybrid technology and magic, as indicated by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table. Furthermore, some upgrades require a charge to use, which is shown by an "Charges" entry in the table below. These charges are either continuously updated or never expire depending on the upgrade.

The cheapest method of upgrading armor is to use Iron Ore, which can be gathered by exploring the area and looting chests of minor loot. Titanium is more expensive but it can be obtained from the smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Some upgrades, such as the Reforge and the Hot Potato Books, can only be applied to high level armor pieces. These upgrades can provide significant improvements in stats and are well worth the cost.

The process of upgrading an armor piece to max upgrade level will greatly boost its defense, but the player should be aware that putting more weight on it will dramatically reduce its agility and speed. Therefore, it is typically not recommended to upgrade most armor pieces that are higher than +9 because the increase in defense is typically not worth the additional weight and power costs of the improvements required.

Weapons

Weapon upgrades give players to enhance certain aspects of their weapon. For example an upgrade can improve the damage that is caused by the shells of a shotgun or the accuracy of the rifle that snipes. Certain firearms also have upgrades that enhance their inherent characteristics. Frictionless materials (improves stability, minimizes the risk of overheating) and Kinetic coils (increases the projectile's acceleration for greater damage) are two examples.

The majority of upgrades to weapons require three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons, and a whetblade for applying. These are obtained through either completing Side Quests, taking out a certain number of bosses or monsters, or by contacting the Weapon Upgrade NPC located in Central Flarine.

To upgrade an equipment set, weapon piece, or Whetblade, you must visit the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine, and pay her an upgrade fee of a certain amount of Bars. The more bars required to complete an upgrade the more advanced the level. The cost of the upgrades will be lower if have more than one of the relevant upgrade materials.

In Chapter 2: Season 5 the way you upgrade weapon and equipment sets has changed. Prior to Chapter 2: Season 5, you could upgrade your weapon and equipment by paying a specific number of Bars. You could do this until your weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level and at that point, the upgrades would be reset.

It's still possible, but it is dependent heavily on RNG. Instead, you're much better off going to stores and purchasing equipment with low upgrade levels, but excellent base scores and stat distributions. item upgrader have a greater likelihood of granting you highest tier blessings and perks.

The majority of players will prioritize upgrades to the weapons they are most likely to use to allow them to progress faster. In addition to these players, they should also consider upgrading the weapons favored by their squadmates to increase their power as well. For instance, Shepard should consider upgrading the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R, which will make it more useful when paired with biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.

Jewels

Jewels are utilized in the sockets of armor and weapons, increasing the stats of a weapon and providing additional effects. Jewelry crafting is a method of making them, where you combine gemstones with specific reagents on a table. The higher the level of the jewel the better the secondary effect. These reagents are available from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses in the world, or by finding Legendary Gear. You can also purchase them from The Jeweler in exchange for gold and Scattered Prisms.

The Jeweler can improve the quality of the gem in stages that range from Crude up to Royal. Depending on the tier of the jewel it can provide different stat boosts when inserted into weapons, equipment and jewelry.

All kinds of jewels are crafted at the Jeweler however, there are some exceptions to this, such as the rare and legendary gems that require you to be at a certain level to qualify for the privilege of having them. Jewels can be replaced by another jewel without destroying the original. You can only replace the jewel only once in a piece of equipment.

It is normal to use more jewels for aesthetic reasons. Apart from improving performance, the jewels create an area that is stronger than steel, so the repeated friction from pivots won't damage them as easily.

In addition to the above-mentioned upgrades players can also obtain glyphs for their shields and weapons from a Glyphmaster. These glyphs give a slight boost in power and can be swapped, but they are not guaranteed to be available as loot. Glyphs can be upgraded, like jewelry, at the Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Crystal. Glyphs can also be taken out and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as aegis or traits cannot be swapped, and can only be found by using an Upgrade extractor or salvaging using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage tool.

Trinkets

Trinkets are pieces of equipment that offer many tiny but valuable advantages to your hero. You can find them in the starter area as loot or personal story rewards. They can also be obtained from vendors as well as through doing road interaction. They may also be crafted by jewelers, and found or purchased on the Trading Post.

The first trinket a player is able to unlock is the cloak. It grants an unimportant but beneficial boost to speed of movement and evasion. The player will then be able to acquire necklaces, amulets, and rings in a similar fashion similar to how they obtained weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment has one upgrade slot that accepts either a universal or jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades offer fewer benefits and can be used in any type of equipment while jewelry cannot be changed or upgraded, and is only compatible with certain kinds of trinkets.

These trinkets also grant additional buffs and skills that are active whenever the hero is not fighting. This lets a hero become more efficient even when not in combat. It also helps compensate for the absence of excellent slot in the talent tree or team that are normally filled by a hero's top stats.

A good general rule of thumb for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best-in-Slot) items that you aren't planning to replace in the near future, then any items with desirable stats but less important than the iLevel of the item to be upgraded. This is especially true when you're looking to upgrade several stats on an item. It's best to upgrade just one crucial stat than two less important ones.

Jungle players will often upgrade their yellow trinket to a red one at the beginning of the game. Mid and top players however they will select either a pink or green ward, based on the game's matchup. These choices will have a major impact on the hero's ability to control his map.

In addition to the items listed above, players will find other trinkets in the form of rewards and trophies throughout the game. These can be earned through completing certain milestones within the story. For instance, completing the main quest for a chapter or defeating the boss. You can see them by selecting the achievement from the reward section of the hero's menu.
