How to Get a Category A1 Driving Licence

The Category A1 license permits people to operate small motorcycles with no sidecar. Its cylinder size must be less than or equal to 125 cubic centimeters and its power must not exceed 11 kW.

The licence also entitles you to drive motor vehicles as well as trailer combinations with an authorized maximum weight of 8,250 kg. The types of vehicles you can drive will depend on when you pass the test.

Motorbikes

The first step in getting a motorbike licence is passing the driving test of category A1. The license is valid for two years, and permits you to drive motorcycles up to 125cc and a maximum power of 11kW. This includes mopeds and trials e-scooters as well motorcross bikes. Before you can sit for the test, you have to complete training with a qualified instructor. The amount of time you need to train depends on the level of your experience and progress.

After completing the training, you are ready to take your driving test for category A1. This test is comprised of a test for theory and the practical test. The theory test will pose questions based on road rules and regulations. The practical test is split into two modules, known as module one and module two. It consists of an exercise in riding and the vehicle walk-around.

You must also have a valid CBT certification in addition to passing both the theory and practical test. After you've completed your CBT you can also decide to take on additional training that will enhance your riding skills and boost your confidence. This will help you save money on insurance.

It's an excellent way to get started in the world of motorbikes. It provides more training, a wider range of riding rights, and a longer validity period than the CBT. It is an excellent choice for young drivers interested in becoming motorcyclists.


The steps required to get the category A1 licence vary from country to country, but generally they include completing the CBT, taking an exam in the practical area and passing a theory test. Then, you can ride small motorbikes or scooters without a passenger. In certain countries, you can take a motorbike on the aid of a sidecar.

In the UK you can get an A1 licence at 17 when you pass a two-part motorcycle test after completing your CBT and theory tests. You are then allowed to ride a scooter or motorcycle up to 125cc with the maximum power is 11 kW. In the US, you must pass a full motorcycle test at the age of 19 to qualify for an A2 licence.

Tricycles

Category A1 driving licences are for motor tricycles with an output of up to 15 kW. This is an excellent way to enter into the world of motorbikes, and also permits you to drive tractors that are designed for agricultural or forestry purposes, single-axle tractors and machines operated by pedestrians with handles (not including self-propelled machines for children younger than seven years old).

After passing CBT you can take a test in the field on a manual or automatic bike that is up to 125cc. This will give you the category A1 license which is valid until of the age 17. If you are a full license holder, you will be permitted to ride bigger motorcycles without having to carry passengers or wearing a helmet. You can also ride quad bikes, tricycles, and mopeds. You can also get an A2 license if you pass the theory test and successfully complete the motorcycle driving tests.

The test for theory for category A1 licenses is comprised of 50 multiple-choice question and you must get at least 41 out of 50 points to pass. You can prepare by attending a driving school or by using online training materials. There are many websites offering this kind of information however, you must be aware that not all are created to be the same. Some of them aren't full and could have mistakes that could affect your test.

Once you have passed your theory and practical tests, you can apply for an A2 category licence, which allows you to drive motorcycles up to 35 kW. It also allows you to drive any kind of vehicle with trailers that weigh more than 7,500kg maximum authorised mass. You will have to be at minimum 20 years old to be able to obtain a category A2 license and you must be accompanied by a driver for the duration of the journeys.

If you are disabled, you can also get a category A1 motorbike licence and be allowed to drive tricycles and motorised invalid carriages that have the power output of up to 30 kW. You will be able to drive these vehicles only if you are a holder of a temporary Category B car licence or a category B motorcycle license for a period of two years. You will need to be able to pass both the CBT and category A1's provisional entitlement to obtain a motor tricycle license.

Sidecar combinations

The plastic photo card and its counterpart make up the driver's license. The first shows the card holder's photograph and address details as well as the signature and driving privileges. The latter contains the serial number, licence description and a list of EU and national information codes. It also lists the penalty points and dates of validity for drivers older than 70.

The state recognizes that the different forms of Norwegian have the same status. The word 'bokmal, signifies that the text has been written in the bokmal language. The Norwegian driving licence also includes an additional form for those with impaired vision, which states that they need to wear an eyeglass when driving.

Trailers

A category A1 driving license allows you to drive a motorized vehicle with a a trailer up to 750kg. This category also includes vehicles that aren't covered by other categories, for instance, electric vehicles. You can also apply for a category A licence to drive motorbikes with engines up to 125cc, and an output of 11 kW. You need the category B licence in order to drive an automobile with a trailer weighing more than 750kg.

A vehicle that has an authorized maximum mass of more than 750kg should be driven by a driver who holds an additional category E licence. If the vehicle is a coach, a driver with a category D licence is required. The driver must be at minimum 21 years old and hold a category B licence for two years.

If you wish to drive a car with an over-750kg trailer you must hold an a Category C license. This applies to vans and trucks that are used to transport goods but not passenger vehicles. This licence is valid for three years. You must also have completed the mandatory basic training and passed both a formal and practical test.

Class A licenses are required for drivers who want to drive vehicles that exceed 10000gvw or trailers with more than 26000gvw. This type of license is offered in several states, and it is primarily aimed at those who wish to pull RVs.

Depending on the state in which you reside, you might have to satisfy additional requirements in order to get a license. Certain states require you to pass a written test, while others have different age limits for new drivers. You will need to show that you are insured and have a valid health insurance.
