CAMHS ADHD Assessment If your child or teen has difficulties they may be sent to CAMHS for ADHD assessment. They may not be able to hear the opinions of others and might be more inclined to take risks, such as drinking or engaging in risky sexual activities. Many adults with ADHD also have problems with their emotions and can be angry, frustrated or angry quickly. They may also be sensitive to criticism or feel that others are criticising them. The symptoms of ADHD differ for each person and can change as people get older. They can affect anyone regardless of gender, ethnicity or background. ADHD can be treated with medication. However, it is crucial to be aware that treatment doesn't eliminate all the signs of the disorder and can cause adverse side negative effects. They would also like to see more specific support for children and their families who are diagnosed with ADHD. Following the QI project, the wait time from referral to ADHD assessment have decreased dramatically. This is in line with targets for trust-levels, and shows the importance of improving effectiveness and capacity across the CAMHS System. The team used the model of change and Plan-Do–Study–Act cycles to drive positive changes in the ADHD pathway.
