It's an option that's guaranteed to be your guests jealous. However, the InstaView feature doesn't end with the refrigerator. There's an application that lets you remotely manage key features like temperature, ice production, and diagnostic services. You can even alter the color of the LED lights according to your mood or kitchen decor.

It's a costly refrigerator. We're not convinced that it offers enough value to justify a significant cost over a fridge that has similar capabilities and efficiency without the InstaView function.

This is particularly relevant when comparing this model to the four-door LFXC24796D that retails for $4,200, and offers almost the same internal storage capacity. That same sized model without the InstaView feature would cost $3,800.

In our tests, the InstaView refrigerator's door compartment was slightly warmer than the rest which suggests that it is not decreasing the loss of cold air, but instead providing easy access to the shelves in the door.

What we did like was the clear organiser designed specifically for egg storage (although it could also be used for other items such as yoghurts). It's also great to know that both the fridge and freezer come with a 24cm LED strip that illuminates when you knock twice on the InstaView door's glass that provides excellent visibility for quick retrieval of items without opening the doors.

Finally, this model is the only one to feature LG's exclusive Craft Ice system that produces beautiful spheres of ice that are perfect for cocktails and whisky. These Ice cubes are smaller than conventional ice and melt faster and chill drinks more efficiently without watering them.
