Motorcycle Driving Course A1

The course is designed to prepare you for the Module One and Module two tests. The training includes practicing angles from vehicles parked and hill starts as well as the fundamental road riding skills such as controlled stops and emergency actions.

Theory

This portion of the training will require you to own a motorcycle. It is important to choose the right motorcycle for you to manage and not too fast or heavy. Start with a 50cc scooter or moped.

The practical test is the next stage after you have completed your theoretical training. The test's practical component is divided into Module 1 and Module 2. The first, Module 1, is a 40-minute road ride, and the second one is a 10 minute independent riding section. You will have to complete both sections to obtain your licence.

It is also necessary to ensure that the vehicle is suitable for your test, and has an appropriate helmet and clothing suitable for the conditions.

Assessment

You must have completed the initial Basic Training (IBT) before you can begin your training for your A1 motorcycle license. This eight-hour training course teaches skills necessary for safe riding. This course is part of the RSA's Graduated Driver Licensing Scheme, which improves the safety of roads. Once you've completed IBT the instructor will give you feedback and provide a suggestion on whether you're ready for the next step of training or not.
