WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost in specific statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also boosts an unspecified substat.

Upgraded gear generally sees greater value for trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or very high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as important for those with higher variance due to the requirement to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the item level, however, they are always less expensive than purchasing new gear. For example, upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, while buying a similar item from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items that are used to improve the quality of weapons tools, armor, and other accessories. They can be purchased from item upgraders NPCs for various currencies. item upgrading are also available on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be used on any weapon or tool with a The button will display the item's next level of upgrade, in the event that there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot of the item and the current level of the item. For example weapons cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

Item upgraders can be found at many locations including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon as well as the possibility of getting the latest recipe. The discount on upgrades increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.

Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no upgrader for items available at the start of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only accessible via a variety of ways. This is both a positive and a drawback.

In Season 3, several new features have been added to the upgrade system. Once a player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level will cost less. This applies regardless of whether the items come from a different set of equipment.

The amount of Valorstones needed to upgrade is reduced and the discount is available across all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is reduced too, but it is only available once certain milestones are achieved.

Crests

Players have a number of options for upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specialized and are utilized during specific level upgrades for items. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.

The first thing to note is that crests can only be spent on equipment that is of a particular rank, and that each rank has different requirements for upgrading. The simplest and simplest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, depending on the type of equipment that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by working through content at the appropriate level. This could be by doing outdoor activities, or by doing dungeons or raids in all difficulty levels to obtain lower-tier gear or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons that have a high difficulty to obtain endgame gear. These crests can then be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken, for the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.

Using these new currencies isn't too complicated however, the system does introduce some changes to the overall upgrade process. For example, once an item is at the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change lets players upgrade their gear to the highest possible ilvl on all of their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.

It's also crucial to choose crests in a wise manner, as they are only used for one purpose. For instance it's best to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the best equipment available, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you plan to create. This is especially relevant for items like trinkets and rings that take up multiple slots. The account-wide discount will only be applicable if all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
