CBT Motorcycle Course For Novice Riders A1 allows you to ride a scooter or small motorbike, and ride as a passenger on a pillion when you are 17 or older. Two days of instruction without any tests. After passing your Module 1, you'll move on to your Module 2 practical test, which is conducted on the roads. The examiner will lead you on a short trip around the local area, and will give you approximately 35 minutes of solo riding for you to complete. The examiner will assess your ability to multitask while following road signs and will expect you to demonstrate good driving skills. After successfully passing both your Module 1 and Module 2 after which you will be able to have the freedom of an A1 light licence. This will allow for you to ride bikes up to 125cc, without the requirement of a learner's licence. You will also no longer be required to display your L plates. Additionally, an A1 licence allows you to ride with a pillion and prevent you from having to take your CBT every two years. This is a great option for those looking to be able to experience the excitement of motorcycling with a partner or friend. The next step up from an A1 licence is an A license that is unrestricted and requires a valid driving licence. Module 2 Practical Test Once you've passed Module 1 and your theoretical test, you're now able to take the practical part of your motorcycle licence - Module 2. This test will grant you an A1 license that permits you to ride a motorcycle up to 125cc and with power of up to 11 BHP. You can also travel on motorways and carry passengers. The Mod 2 test is a test of riding skills that includes approximately 10 minutes of uninvolved riding. The examiner will follow you along a predetermined route with varying traffic and road conditions. The route will include busy junctions as well as roundabouts and dual carriageways. You'll need to be able to ride in various conditions. Module 2 will test your ability to be observant, anticipate and navigate through busy roads. This is crucial as it allows you to make quick decisions while driving on the road. You'll need to be able react quickly, for instance, you are driving down the road and spot cars moving towards you. It is also expected to demonstrate a good control of your speed. This includes being able move away with ease, stop with confidence, and maintaining speed. You should also be able to demonstrate good brakes and make an uncontrolled U-turn whenever necessary. You'll be tested on how well you can signal and shift gears. You will be asked to signal prior to overtaking another vehicle, and when leaving an intersection, and change gear when necessary. After passing both parts of the Module 2 test, you will receive a certificate with your A1 license. You'll then be able to ride your new bike through the countryside or commute to work in fashion and in comfort. No matter if you ride an electric supermoto or a scooter or a supermoto, your new A1 license will allow you to enjoy freedom adventure, excitement and adventure. Licensing This course is appropriate for those who have completed their Module 1 & 2 completed and want to expand their riding skills and bond with their bike. It usually involves more advanced training and exercises such as looking through your turns and leaning to control your bike at higher speeds.
