Category A1 Rules For Motorcyclists The rules for category a1 are applicable to those who want to operate small motorcycles. They have capacity of up to 35 kW. They must also have completed the compulsory basic training and pass a theory test and a practical test. They also need to have an authentic medical certificate. A1 license holders are allowed to drive two-wheeled mopeds, as they ensure that their cylinder capacity is no more than 125cc and their power to weight ratio is not greater than 0.1 kW/kg. They are also able to drive motorcycles that have the maximum capacity of 125 cc as well as trikes, quad bikes and quad-bikes. These drones are only allowed to fly in A2 up until the year 2022's end. After that, they'll need to comply with the A3 regulations. The A1 and A2 categories are designed to assist you in becoming a safe and confident motorcyclist. This exam is designed to test the remote pilot's understanding of the operational and technical mitigations to mitigate the risks associated with flying slightly larger drones (class C2, below 4kg mass) close to people. The successful completion of this test will result in the awarding of an 'attestation of competence to fly in category A2'. There are 'transitional arrangements' that allow legacy drones, which are not certified, to operate in the categories A1 and/or A2 for two years following the implementation of the new EU regulations. The drones of the past cannot be deliberately flown overhead of people and must be operated by an A2 CofC. To operate a drone under this category, you need to first pass the online test for identification of flyers and then complete a theory test. You must also declare that you have some practical knowledge about your drone, and then submit a written proof of competency. These requirements are similar in nature to the driving license model in that a driver who first obtains their license for a lower category vehicle can then be upgraded to the higher category. A4 The DOH is currently preparing guidelines for category A4. These guidelines will be in line with other operations and will include specifics such as the number of dressings changed each day. They will be presented to the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infections (IATF-EID) and the DOH National Immunization Technical Advisory Group. The IATF-EID and the DOH-National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization will review and approve the guidelines prior to being finalized. Drones with the C0 or C1 are able to be flying within 50 metres of people who are not involved in the incident. This is a low-risk subcategory, however, strict precautions must still be taken to avoid accidents. Drones classified as A1 or A2 must be able to pass an additional theoretical test to be able to operate in this subcategory. This examination aims to assess the knowledge of the additional risks associated with flying drones in close proximity to people. A successful passing of the test earns the issuance of a certificate of competency for this subcategory. The pilot must keep at least 30 metres between the aircraft and all non-involved person, or 5 metres when flying in slow-flight mode.
