World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading Upgrades to items allow players to increase the gear score of an item to 700 and add a final perk. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you bring them to the Kiln. Certain items are worth upgrading due to their distinctive stats. (For instance an excellently rolled breakpoint armor used in melee PvP). Other items like weapons don't change much after an upgrade and aren't worth the cost. Weapons Weapons can be upgraded to boost their numeric stats like damage to attack, crit chance, PvE and PvP damage. Weapons also come with a flat bonus that increases the damage they deal per second. A lot of weapons also come with a fixed bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are used in a group. This bonus may be more than the damage a weapon upgrade alone can do. The cost of upgrading a weapon is contingent on its rarity and current level. For example an item with a rating of +2 will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while a +3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will continue rise until it requires a higher tier of Smithing Stones, at which the number will be reset to one. The upgrade of weapons can also change their base stats. This is usually a good aspect, but it may also have negative effects. For items that are only used in a certain build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs, for instance), upgrading them may render them useless unless you happen to have an extremely lucky roll. It is possible to upgrade armor items to increase their effectiveness. For instance, if you have chests or helms, this will increase the defense of its base, while gloves and belts will improve their required strength and dexterity. Armor also has an option to reroll its Enhanced Defense percentage, which means that it may roll back to a lower number. The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats it will gain when upgrading, along with the relative value of those stats. This means that an upgrade from an 8 attack-damage sword to an 11 attack-damage sword will result in a weapon receiving 3% of attack damage. The 3% difference does not mean that the weapon will be hit 3 times less, as it is an absolute number. Rerolling a weapon is also possible by pressing the green button within the item menu with the arrows that circle. This will roll an item and alter its stats but not reset the weapon's levels, or bind it to account status. Armor A few upgrades to your armor can make a huge difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets can offer massive improvements in the resistance to poison, curses, fire, and magic. This can make it easier to navigate difficult areas. In item upgrading , the more defense you have on your character, the more health you will receive from each point. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade your armor. You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four fountains in all, and each requires you to complete a specific side-quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed your main quest and the corresponding fountains, you'll have the option of talking to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor. The amount of materials required to upgrade each piece of armor will vary. In general, you're looking at anything from three to ten Red Chuchu Jellies and 10 Rupees for the first upgrade, then anywhere between five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Horns for each subsequent one. For instance, the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep up with a large group of enemies in most cold conditions, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded up to +20 defense, giving the protection needed to survive the full-on assault with a handful of friends. Be aware that armor can't be upgraded in the same way as weapons, so you'll need to concentrate on upgrading it for physical power if you're a Warrior or Spell Power if you're a Mage. It is recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you will still be wearing by the end of the story, like the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you wear in the final boss fight the Monter Parts Merchant Mask. You can also gain benefits to your armor by giving the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. Generally speaking, you'll want to keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer, but it can be beneficial to have a few upgrades to your chest armor and helmets that permit you to sneak past some monsters. Potions Potions are substances in bottles that, if consumed, give the player a temporary status effect. There are five types of potions, each with different effects and durations. Some potions may be upgraded, increasing their level of effect. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by adding redstone dust and glowstone dust. Upgrades to your potion require a specific amount XP. This can be obtained by crafting them on a table or by placing them in the Alchemist chest. The price of upgrades varies based on the type of potion as well as the item's rarity as well as Mark Level. To upgrade a potion you need to right-click it in your inventory. Select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open an GUI that allows you to select the potion you would like to upgrade and the amount of experience they will give you when upgraded. The upgrade of potions can be completed in batches of up to five at a time, and the XP they provide will be added to your current XP total. Once a potion is upgraded, it will not degrade until you re-use it, or break the bottle it's stored in. You can also rename the potion by clicking it in your inventory. There were a few updates to potion mechanics in version 1.7.2. For instance the splash potions now have a duration of 0:08 (this is not the same as 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display for the item). The potion table can now be constructed using four Wood Planks and two Glass. It can now be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions are not compatible with cauldrons, as is the case with Java Edition. Similarly, using a potion on a full cauldron, it drains the liquid and replenishes the bottle. There are also lingering potions that are brewed using dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone can also be added to potions that are lingering to increase their effects. The potion table is rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions are also added, like the potion of leaping as well as decomposition. Trinkets A trinket could be an ornamental item that is small, cheap or piece of jewelry. It could also be an ornament or object that serves a purpose, but isn't important, like a thimble. In some cultures, trinkets are used to symbolize affection or friendship, particularly between family members. In addition to weapons, armor and potions, players are able to upgrade their trinkets. These can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate amount in currency. In contrast to other upgrades for items, trinkets can be traded out at any time without losing their status. Upgrade vendors are located at the capitals of every zone, and sometimes in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased with gold, tokens or fragments of a rare trinket. Upgrading a trinket is an affordable alternative to buying new ones. A player can upgrade a trinket for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base ilvl as previous one, and will include an additional upgrade bonus of 1. Trinkets can be upgraded once the old ones are no longer needed and allows players to increase their power and value over time. They can be traded among players, making them an alternative to gold. In general, players should upgrade their most important items first. This means that the best-in slot items for each class are upgraded first then their secondary gear and other pieces of equipment they will not replace anytime soon (such as a ring or an cloak). It is also important to consider your class's preferred stats when deciding the items to upgrade. For example If Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tanks, they should be focusing on upgrading their chest, helm shoulders, belt, and chest. When they are no longer useful trinkets can be upgraded to a higher level. The new trinket comes with an additional 1% bonus. However, a re-upgrade will cause the trinket to be destroyed in the event that it is not salvaged with the Black Lion Salvage Kit or a higher-tier salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades, but still less expensive than purchasing a new one.
