A Small Bedside Cot That Attaches to Your Adult Bed

A bedside crib can help you keep your baby close at night without having to get out of bed. The fabric is breathable, which lets you easily see your baby, and they're incredibly easy to lower for those sleepy 3am feedings.

They can also be used as a moses basket as well.

What is a bedside crib?

A bedside crib, also known as a bassinet or co-sleeper is a baby cot that is attached to an adult bed. This allows your baby to sleep with you in a safe environment. This is a secure form of co-sleeping and doesn't increase the risk of SIDS like bedsharing. It also helps you bond with the new baby.

The cots usually have a side that can be adjusted so that you can easily reach your infant during the night for feeding and comforting. This is particularly helpful for mothers who are recovering from a c section. Some are also mobile or foldable, which means you can bring them along on trips and use them as a temporary sleeping option for babies who aren't quite ready to move to a full-sized cot.

When you are looking for a bedside crib, look for a model with a comfortable mattress and a protective cover to shield your baby from stains. You'll also want to buy baby-safe items like a blanket, teether and cuddly toy.

If you're looking for a longer-term solution, some cribs come with conversion kits that allow you to convert them into a toddler bed or cot when the time is right. This can extend their lifespan and make the transition easier. Some come with a removable section at the top that can be turned into a bassinet. Other models can be used with either a regular adult bed or a high-rise model. This is an excellent choice for families that are planning to frequently travel or switch between bedrooms in the evening. Be aware of the dimensions of your room to ensure that you fit comfortably in the crib. Many cribs have risers which can be used to create an incline for babies who have reflux.

The Joie Roomie Glide

They are known for their high-end baby products English brand Joie has stepped into the world of bedside cribs with the Roomie Glide. Designed to help parents bond with their babies whilst sleeping together without sharing a bed. This co-sleeper is packed with features that help make bonding between parents enjoyable, safe and easy.

A gentle rocking motion can be initiated by pressing the button. This will help soothe your baby to sleep by a gentle rhythm that doesn't disrupt their natural sleep pattern. This is ideal for older babies and toddlers who struggle to settle. It can aid in digestive issues like reflux and colic.

The crib can also be attached to the side of the bed by an attachment strap and clip. This makes the crib very sturdy and secure which allows you to rest comfortably without fearing that your child will slide off into the middle. The rounded cocoon shape comes with soft padded sides and double mesh windows on both sides to allow ample air flow while making sure your baby is safe.

The mattress is firm and comfortable, and has an easy-to-clean cover. The aluminum frame is lightweight, making the crib very portable and easy to assemble. The four lockable wheels are rubber-covered to ensure that the crib won't leave marks on your floor and are easy to move around. The crib is easy to clean with the wipeable woven fabric and is able to be easily tucked away in a bag for overnight stays.

The Tutti Bambini CoZeeAir

This superior model is designed to be a safe, next-to-me-crib from birth to 6 months. It features rocking bars to allow for easy mobility, as well as castors. The deluxe airflow mattresses provide a comfortable sleeping surface, while ventilation panels help keep your baby cool. There are bedside co sleeper , including an incline setting to aid with congestion and reflux.

Contrary to some cribs that are placed on the bed, which can be a challenge to clean due to their constant stream of snot and dribble The Tutti Bambini CoZeeAir has a wipe-clean liner and fabric that can be washed in the machine. Additionally, it comes with an upper bar that can be easily lowered for feeding at night without having to fumble with zips in the dark.

Anna discovered that the CoZee could be a safe, cozy sleeping place for her baby. She loved that it didn't rock like other models, so it wasn't waking her at night when she was trying to comfort her baby during feeds. She also enjoyed that the side was lowered so she didn't need to reach over her partner to pull the baby for feedings at night.

The CoZee is available in oak and charcoal and was a stylish addition to the bedroom. It looks more like an elegant piece of furniture than some of the other cribs that we've tried, which appear rather utilitarian. It is also relatively lightweight at just 11kg and comes with a carrying case, so you can take it on holiday or when you are moving home. The only additional items you'll require are a waterproof sheet and a co-sleeping safety strap. The instructions and pictures are easy to follow once you open the box.

The Maxi-Cosi lora

The Iora is a bassinet for infants designed to help parents feel more connected to their baby as they sleep. It can be adjusted up and down and moves through three slide positions to be placed next to the bed of the parent or in the corner of the room, to ensure that your baby is close to the parent's side. The mesh siding lets air circulate through, allowing you to see your baby quickly. And you can stow extra pajamas and supplies in the large storage basket beneath.

The Iora is a smaller bedside crib that folds flat. 4-in-1 bedside crib comes with a travel case so it can be carried anywhere. Our mum testers were able to move it from room to room, and believed that it was a suitable size for a bedside cot, not too big or small. They also loved the large storage basket, that is ideal for storing nappies or other bedding items.

This is a great option for parents who want to co-sleep but do not want to share their beds, or whose partners might have mobility issues, like arthritis or back pain. Our mum testers were thrilled to be able to easily access their child while in the Iora and that it had an adjustable reflux incline that helped alleviate gas.

Our mums are also thrilled that the mattress is in line with NICE guidelines which state that you should place the baby in a crib or Moses basket on its own (with no toys, blankets, pillows, etc). They also say that the mattress is comfortable and firm for babies and is easy to find sheets for. It's not as light as some of the smaller cribs on our list, so if you prefer something lighter and easier to move, you can choose another alternative.
