Buy the French B Driving License Online

If you're a foreign national who is moving to France, there are certain things that you should be aware of before driving on French roads. First, you need to exchange your driver's licence.

Legality

The French driving license is a legal document issued by the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion (Ministere of the transition ecologique and de la cohesion des territories - METTC). It covers all aspects of driving including traffic laws, parking and speeding. It must be in French or accompanied with an official translation. The applicant should also submit a medical certificate or a document confirming their disability. To get a B-category driver's license you must be 18 years old or older and have at minimum one year of driving experience. As a newcomer in France You may be excited to start driving, especially if your new residence is located near the vineyard-lined roads of Champagne country. If you are an American moving to France then your US driving licence will need to be exchanged for an French license. The process takes about a year and requires passing the French written and practical tests.

You can save money and ease the burden by obtaining an international permit when you are in the country. You can obtain an international driving permit by visiting the France Titres ANTS website and selecting "I need an International Driver's License".

Before requesting your international driving license you must hold an French B-category license or better. You'll also have to pass a theory and practice test. Driving lessons in France are expensive and the hourly rate ranges between EUR40 to EUR60 per hour. Some schools do offer packages for the duration of a certain amount of time.
