What is a bedside crib?

A bedside crib, also known as a bassinet, or co-sleeper, is a small baby cot that is attached to an adult bed. This allows your newborn to sleep right next to you in peace. This is a safe form of co-sleeping, which does not increase the risk of SIDS, like bedsharing. It also helps you bond with the new baby.

They usually have a side that can be lowered, so you can easily reach your newborn at night to feed and comforting. This is especially helpful for mothers who are recovering from a c section. Our mom testers love the fact that they can easily access their child in the Iora and it also has an adjustable reflux incline that can aid in reducing gas.

Our mothers are thrilled that the mattress adheres to NICE guidelines. They recommend placing the infant in the Moses basket or crib on its own without toys, blankets and pillows. The mattress is also sturdy and comfortable for the baby, and sheets are readily available. It's not as light as the other cribs that are smaller, though, so if you want something lighter and more portable, look at other options on our list.
