Ralph Bressler On my first try I let the program run on a large website for several hours. When I checked the progress, the program said that it had used under 20 minutes and it did not seem to be doing anytyhing. Since there is no progress bar or any other indication of what is happening, I did not know what to do. I had to use a atask manager to stop the program. I am going to try it again to see if I can get it to work.

Any ideas why it failed to complete after 4 hours?

Lupke Brother same problem here, but with your sitemap generator software and not with your analyzer. Freezes everytime on 'time used'. Seems the software is running, because all menus are still working, but don't know if it is 'really' running

G W Thomas, seems like you need to build into your solution a way of knowing how to set it up for large sites 'since this is what you advertise it for' sheesh!.

You also need as the other reviewers have said some way of monitoring where it is at during the process of any action.

Still not convinced to buy this...

I read @Lupke / @Ralph description as no progress seems to be happening.

Also, there really should not be any problems with large websites. I have some who use e.g. A1SG for crawling million page websites. Then again, there are also some who may need to do some configuration with e.g. 100000 page websites. For details see:

Anyhow, from reading @Lupke / @Ralph I am not entirely convinced their problem may be from crawling huge websites (I assume they would have written so then), so I would appreciate if they could let me know (either here or privately) the websites they are using for testing

(For what it is worth, you don't have to buy. You can try the trial first. But I fully understand your hesitation based so far on BDJ.)

I have no relation with Micro-Sys but they have earned good reviews on different products and the have an active board. So let's try and test and conclude later.

My problem with your sitemap generator has actually been solved by disabling the default to GET for page request option. Scanned my 11.000 links under 3 minutes!

Glad to hear you have seen progress :)

Were you by any chance using a very high thread/connections count? Many websites can not handle that which is why the default settings are only configured to like 1/10th (even less actually) of the top speed A1WA can handle.

(And actually, suppose you set max connections count to 50. And website stalls. A1WA will continue retrying getting through for quite some time. And if for instance there occurs read timeouts during connection *or* data transfer, this can make A1WA appear freeze while the jobs finish waiting/stopping. This however should still not cause freezes that lasts hours of course.)

Anyhow, if anyone encounters *any* kind of problem, please shoot off an email to http://www.microsystools....ontact.php with details. (If possible send me project file.) You can of course also post here, but many people prefer not to mention websites publicly. The more details I get, the quicker I can explain/solve it :)

Ralph Bressler I have tried two more times on www.catskillhiker.net with about the same results. I have made many of the adjustments you suggested and they don't seem to have helped. I have used Insite and Deep Trawl for some time without any problems. Frankly, having to configure dozen's of options may make the program more versatile but I am not wiling to put in the time when I already have working programs. If you can find out the problem, let me know and I will reconsider.

G W @Lupke, yes sorry I might have been a little harsh, I guess I was seeing the feedback saying that it was not working on large sites but the solution was being marketed as a good solution for large sites.

I also agree Thomas has done well in responding to the issues here and being very upfront about it. I am trialling the solution myself now before I make a decision on to buy or not.

However there still seems to be issues as also identified by Ralph. Will be interesting to see if I have the same issues, on a site with 162,000 + pages.

Thomas Schulz @Ralph I will be back with more information / new release in about two hours. I was able to replicate a problem on the site example given. (It is, in a roundabout way, related to the new features in 4.2.0, but only an issue that happens in some situations, none of those having happened on the sites I tested on before release... And apparently also not on any of the beta testers sites.)

Thomas Schulz @Ralph Okay, I ran a test scan with my new release which I stopped/resumed multiple times (to increase chance of provoking errors) and I had it finish successfully on it own:

While usually a so-so idea to rush-release fixes, I have uploaded a new version at: http://www.microsystools....-analyzer/ (it will still say version 4.2.0) Hopefully it now also works for you. I would have preferred to run a much larger testing phase, but all things considered, I wanted to make the release now.

I will be back in 1-2 hours. If anyone has any other problems (not solved by the help links above) do *please* email me with website address / project file. (And let me know if I am allowed to e.g. run a high thread/connection count test on it.) In general, if you experience problems related to above issue or not, I can far faster help when people email me project files. (If for instance you are crawling a *very* large website, the help regarding that still holds. Also, you should not worry if it takes 1-2 minutes after clicking "Stop" before it stops completely. There can be "jobs" in some threads that are still finishing.)

Meanwhile, I will be running more tests incase my fix did not address the issue.

Ralph Bressler OK, I am trying to determine whether I need this program or not. The author was quick to fix a bug and I give him credit for that. I am trying to get the word wrap to work on one of my files. It doesn't seem to matter how many times I click on the option. It just doesn't work. I clicked on remove HTML comments and the program again went into limbo. When I switched to my browser and tried to switch back, I can't.. I had to use a task manager to cancel it. Sorry, I would like to support this author but I find that there are too many bugs. I also find that there are TOO MANY options and reports. I will have to pass on this or keep trying it out and hope it will be offered aagin.

Thanks for notifying me Word Wrap Enabled does not work properly in the control. Will take a look :)

(Regarding HTML comments. That was also the issue in the earlier release. What happened was that HTML comments were stripped from anchor text -- hence in a roundabout way an issue introduced in 4.2.0. I fixed it in the crawler for the quick-fix release -- could use a simpler version -- but not where you referenced it due to lack of time.)

It appears one doesn't have to make a video to increase sales. Sometimes the opposite choice applies. I was looking into this tool, started liking it and then... I watched the video.

The epic "Disable it all" line and the bloke's voice-training-free presentation sealed the deal. I am not buying it.

For heaven's sake, mate, get a pro aboard. Just because you made it(?) doesn't mean you have to present it yourself!

(Not to mention your creepy video made me doubt the product altogether, so I loaded all the comments and now I am very glad I've already decided not to buy.)

The videos were originally made to supplement the help pages, but possibly a mistake to include here. (The video was never meant to increase sales, but to help people who wanted to watch video instead of reading a help page.)

I do find it a bit puzzling you have such a need to comment on the sales presentation, but I will of course agree on the general statement that it is a good idea to read the comments, try the product and do some research on how a company handles everything. To a degree, it is also fair to include video material. We are not a big company, so if that is what you are looking for, you are most certainly making the correct decision not to buy :)

Some hightlights are:
* See anchor text, follow/nofollow and line numbers of internal links.
* More duplicate content tools including one where you can visually see pages that have *similar* content (while still experimental and not perfect, it works quite well for non-huge websites, and I don't think there is any other tool of this category out there which even tries to give a visual representation and is able to *fairly* group pages with similar content...)
* With 40+ data columns for all URLs, you can generate many types of CSV/print reports (either choose from builtin or make your own by applying "quick filters" and selecting which data columns are to be shown) - e,g, redirects, canonical, show page URLs with titles over certain length etc.
* Cusom search (e.g. analytics), spell check, validate code site-wide

I realize that coffeecup's program is a rather new program, just launched in 2013.
While your program has been around longer, since it is already at its 5th version (V5).

Thomas Schulz @disenchanted I don't know that product. Generally speaking there are a good amount of more or less complete site analysis and link checking tools out there. I believe A1 Website Analyzer offers a *very* comprehensive solution at that. BitsDuJUser Was it mentioned anywhere that the deal with respect to upgrades for one year was a different one than offerend on their website.

On their website, the programmer mentioned that the upgrade to 8.x will be offered within one year free of charge. I purchased the software through this website and accepted this deal.

I received the license file and an email that this offer is only with an upgrade for SIX MONTHS.

Thats unfair.

Shall I refuse to finally accept this offer and ask for a refund or should the Bitsdujour people negotiate with the programmer on behalf of every one who accepted this offer and get this corrected.

Thomas Schulz I wilk send anyone who wish it a new license email that states the full length. It's an oversight if it's not changed in the email. (In the customer database, it is one year bu if anyone wans another license email for whatever reason I will send it)

Today afternoon around 17 hours you have sent me two license files, one for Website analyzer and second for Sitemaps which has:

This is an obvious mistake as one your website it stated one year. Now that you accepted your mistake as an error, which may happen to everyone, please sent to everyone who purchased a new email and license which grants an upgrade for one year.

BitsDuJUser 1) Beautiful. Received the Email. But the idea of placing the message here was to represent the interest of all Bitsdujour purchasers.

2) As far as I can tell, I have paid full price at the time of purchase of Sitemap Generator in Standard version. No discount was applied at the time of purchase, like you declared here.

As far as I can say, the presentation by Bitsdujour regarding other associated products by the same company is a bit misleading, which is no fault of yours.

In the last minute, when I bought the Website analyzer, there were about 120 seconds left. I thought that the associated products listed below would also have 50% discount.

During this process, I shortly visited your website of Website Analyser. There I found a notice that the product includes one year of upgrades and a 30 days money-back garantee. Both these parameters, when a company sells a product with these as such, makes a very high quality of business making and draws very high respect and attention of purchasers.

Thus, I did not go through the installation of a demo in the last moment and bought both.

During the purchase, it displayed two prices on the website of payment processor, which again is no fault of yours. This was because of two different versions, which I found now. I thought that the 50% coupon is applied and thats the reason. This was wrong.

And now I found out that there is a difference of Standard and Professional verison too. So, I know now that I bought the Standard version for a normal price at the time of purchase.

I will write you further in an email in this regards, where most likely, I will not want to keep the Standard version for a normal price.

But I take the opportunity here to write this experience (of hurried shopping at the last moment!) to draw attention of admins of Bitsdujour, who did this fantastic website (which I know this since its infantary stages), that a bit of a small change in the title of associated products is neccesary. I suggest that one mentions AS A TITLE above the other products or softwares:
