Bart User Dear sir mam

Can your program also search inside pdf files that are located
on a website for text inside the PDF files?

Thomas Schulz You can point A1WSE to a PDF to text module so A1WSE can search the text:

HJ B 1. Can you tell us what the specifications and limits of Search engine 10.x are?
2. Does it index all pages of a website? Can certain pages or files be excluded?
3. What kinds of files cannot be indexed?
4. Will the program index the names of files that are not otherwise readable (e.g. graphics or encrypted)
5. As material is removed from or added to a website, is the index automatically adjusted?
6. Is the index, itself, viewable or downloadable by visitors to the website or by the website owner?
7. Is there any action (good or bad) between this program and website security programs?
8. I find the fine print to be a bit confusing. I had been assuming that the program would be uploaded to the website to do its thing. The fine print says that:
"Each license allows installation on all owned computers, but A1 Website Search Engine 10.x may not be used at exactly the same time on each of them.
"Transfer of a license to another owned computer is allowed".

9. Can this program be used on multiple websites I own, without additional charge?

Thomas Schulz 1) See product page: - it includes a section "Easy Steps and You Have a Working Site Search Solution" that explains what you ask (specifications/limts)

2) Yes. And Yes. If you are interested see http://www.microsystools....r-filters/ and http://www.microsystools....t-filters/

3) Binary game data files among other :) Kidding aside, web pages and through some configuration PDF and Flash as well. If you need support for something not currently supported drop me an email.

4) Yes, if you include image file types in output they will be included in search index as well

No but you can automate A1WSE to crawl, generate search engine files and upload:

6) Depends on the search index type you choose to create (e.g. JavaScript or PHP/JavaScript.)

7) Do you mean if the website tries to prevent crawling? See this http://www.microsystools....-platform/ section "General Solutions for Crawling Problematic Websites" - that will get by most of such problems.

8) This is a limitation of the options available in BDJ. The actual license is less restrictive. Do notice though that A1WSE program *different* from the files generated with the program - i.e. the license term you quote on BDJ does not reflect on the search engine files you create with A1WSE. (So no, you do not upload the actual program itself to the webserver, but files created and/or shipped with it) See this help page for more information concerning licensing: http://www.microsystools....m-license/

9) Yes
