First, in your screenshots, I see ABBYY Business Card Reader. I know Business Card Reader is another product of your Company. Does this offer include Business Card Reader?

David Vaughan Abbyy is running a 41% off Black Friday/Cyber Monday special for FineReader 12 Professional on their home page = $99.99 USD until December 1. Wonder if they might offer an additional discount here?

Pretty good chance Abbyy will release v13 in 2016 (based on previous major release cycle). Normally, they charge $99 for major upgrades. This is another area where they could offer BDJ purchasers a bonus.

Whatever they do, this appears to be a great product - probably the best of its kind.

Niels Erik Karkov Installed the trial, think it will Work even with the Scandinavian characters, So that is good. Could you inform me on how many future updates there is included in this version, and when you expect a major update that costs Money and what the Price for that will be? . Best wishes Niels

David Drane I have this already and I have omnipage. I find myself using both for different documents as there are some things one does better than the other. Finereader is better with documents with images/logos on as well as text. I get a much more accurate "text on top" ouput with finereader. Font recognition appears better too. However, it lacks some of the tidy up options that omnipage has (in particular border cleaning) and processing is much slower than omnipage. Ominpage allows control of the context menu for right clicks (so you can select your most used workflows to show) whereas finereader has 3 presets which you cannot change.

I tend to use omnipage for speed and finereader for when there is more graphics/logos in place or I need more manual tidy up. They both excel in different areas and whilst it would be nice to have just one that does everything, I find having both is worthwhile. For reference, most of my document work is scanned letters with logo/letterhead/footer and general text content with the occasional table and charts. I like the text on top option where possible for small file size and clarity but do switch to text under where accuracy is an issue
