Michael R I have some questions about your product(s) you offer today:

My idea of this software is, that it enables me to invite a group of people, e.g. 5 and to display all 5 cams simultanously on a webpage, so that each of these webcam-persons can see each other simultanously. Is this a typical application of your Software?

(1) Most webcams have sound ability. So does AbelCam handle sound-transfer too? Perhaps enable/disable sound for different cams? E.g. give the word to two of these 5 persons, which would perhaps result in one sound-steam where the two incoming sound-channels are mixed together. And what the others do say is not transferred to this time...

(2) If let's say I have 10 friends/webcams around the world and want to have a meeting with 5 at a time, do I need 10 or 5 additional cams. Or in general: With each camera-license I buy I have the ability to handle one additional camera from the server. Right? (The client software, eing used by these webcams are free?)

(3) If I want to do this meeting from a different computer of mine, i.e. different from the one I originally installed the server to, e.g. instead from my desktop at home from my laptop in a cafe, do I have to buy a separate license (and perhaps even additional camera-licenses) or is this server licensed for me as user and I can install it on any computer I have. (If last, can I perhaps even run them simultanely, e.g. with two cams on the desktop-server and 3 on the laptop? (Even I don't know if this make sense))

AbelCam is not a video conferencing system.
In order to see your five friends, each one of them needs to have AbelCam installed.
You would have to create the web page to bring those five installations on one page (some html knowledge required).

(1) sound is supported in Windows Media Streams. One WMV Stream per camera is supported, no mixing capabilities.
For JPEG images and motion JPEG streams sound is not supported.

(2) Yes, each camera license allows you to use an additional camera.
Without the camera licence(s), you can configure multiple cameras, but you can only have one active.
There is no client software required - a browser is enough.

(3) again, AbelCam is not a conferencing software and is probably not what you would choose for a meeting.
The license can be used on any computer of your choice as long as it's running only on one computer simultaneously.

Good Guy Can you please explain a bit more about what the AbelCam Pro license does include? I am not sure if the user needs to buy an additional camera license for each added web cam in their home. Is the AbelCam Network Camera Agent only needed for web cams not directly connected to PC's in the users home?

Stefan Seiz The AbelCam Pro license includes everything you need to operate one webcam. You can broadcast images, motion jpeg streams and windows media streams, control a ptz camera, do motion dection for surveillance and so on.

You can configure and use a 2nd or 3rd camera, but without additional camera license(s), they cannot run simultaneously.

What is the normal price (in USD) for the additional camera license(s) and the AbelCam Network Camera Agent? Are either of those discounted as well in todays offer?

Stefan Seiz Only the AbelCam Pro license is discounted today.
You can purchase additional camera licenses and/or the AbelCam Network Camera Agent anytime later and you will receive a 5% discount if you have the AbelCam Pro license.

Both the camera licenses and the network camera agent are very low priced already, that's why they are not included in todays offer.

Justin Cram Hello I've been using Yawcam for years now! And seen this option my question is does this have very little resource use in the windows environment background task also does it launch as a background service to service Audio and Usb camera to programs like tiny cam monitor pro in android market etc. Does it do motion detection email or online cloud storage etc? thanks in advanced

- Resource use depends very much on resolution/frame rate/number of cameras and other options. Generally speaking AbelCam is effective, but you may configure it to put quite a load on your system (eg. running 20 HD cameras...)

- AbelCam may be configured to run as service (background task)

- AbelCam does motion detection

- Dropbox is supported

Just try it out - you'll like it.
