AquaSoft @Peter Lievers, AquaSoft SlideShow does one thing only - it creates awesome slidehows... the products you are mentioned are image management apps with no or very poor slideshow features (you forgot Picasa).

Bertie Brummel If you are interested in this DiaShow version don't forget to ask for
Aquasoft's upgrade policy _before_ purchasing. Last November I bought the Suite-Version ( = full package) for the regular price
from www.aquasoft.de under my real name.

In December they released DiaShow BlueNet (which replaced the Ultimate version in the "Suite" bundle) but refused a to give a free upgrade. I even called them and mentioned, that nearly all big and small software vendors provide free upgrades when the product's previous version was purchased during the month before the upgrade's release.

The only answer I got was an unfriendly "We need to earn money"

AquaSoft BlueNet is not replacing Ultimate, it's a different version with more high-end features (allows writing BluRay disks; not everybody wants this) that actually costs $89 (vs ($69 for Ultimate). I bought the WHOLE SUITE, not only Dia Show Ultimate. And since the release of DiaShow BlueNet it replaced DiaShow Ultimate in the Suite. That's why the new version was an upgrade for the SUITE too.

As mentioned before, I've hardly ever seen an enterprise refusing a free upgrade within a month after purchase.

Of course I know how to upgrade with cost. However, I was so disappointed that I decided against it..

AquaSoft @Bertie: if this would have been a newer version of Ultimate (i.e. 8.0), the update would be free. But as I said, it's really a step up product. The price difference is $20 in your case. If you are interested, please email support@aquasoft.net and tell them that you want to get this (and that "Hans" approved it), they will handle this for you.

Brian H Hi- I'm in Bertie's situation (above). I am a loyal customer and bought the "Ultimate" suite package back in September here on BDJ, and I would like to upgrade my "Aquasoft Slideshow Ultimate 7" to "Blue Net". I understand it is is "step up product" upgrade, but when I click to buy this current offering there is an option to "Replace with SlideShow 7 with Blue Net" for only $10 upgrade charge, Since today is the day of the deal here on BDJ, would I be able to upgrade my current "SlideShow 7" with "Blue Net" product for $10? And now you say, your advice may not work for users in Germany. So we need to fix the problem outside of this promotion.

AquaSoft @Bertie: now that you mentioned it again, I actually see this - my sincere apologies! The German team is separate from the international activities, that is the reason why they have an extensive German website and a separate webshop system.

The discount coupon will not work in the German shopping cart, unfortunately. Nevertheless, I would try to contact the folks at support@aquasoft.de or sales@aquasoft.de and ask them if they can give you a similar coupon for their shop. I am confident they'll be happy to help you there.

Software Guy One of my three favorite slideshow programs. the other two are LQ graphics Photo to Movie and NCH Photoshow, mostly for their sophisticated pan and zoom capabilities. There are many other good slideshows out there too. But this offer is really nice because the suites contain a number of fun programs at great discount.
If you bought in september you can upgrade to bluenet for 19.95 which is good if you have a blue ray burner but the upgrade is certainly not necessary.
This set of programs is licensed per computer so you just might want to sit tight on your september purchase and add the slideshow or suite to another computer so you can have fun on your laptop too. You can do a great quick and dirty slideshow on your big screen tv by just picking a folder full of pictures and plugging in the HDMI cable from the laptop (you might need an adapter but new ones have HDMI built in) to the TV. Great fun for a get together or event- everyone seems to love to look at themselves on a big screen. (hint-avoid super close-ups of the wife in whatever folder you pick unless you like sleeping on the sofa). Kids love it. And the suite lets you print some nice looking calendars - great for the office and also for the family with photos of loved ones. This is a great offer and I recommend the suite if you have the time for it.

Bxxxx Oxxxx I purchased the suite in Sept 2011,
because I wanted to make flash output.

To create flash output from SlideShow7, it is necessary
that WebShow pops up as plug in in SlideShow.
This doesn't work in my Windows7 64bit PC

Despite of more than one support request, this still doesn't work.

So, according to my experience, if you want to make flash output,
look somewhere else...........

I just got answer from support,
recommending the new versions.

I have uninstalled SlideShowUltimate and WebShow, downloaded the latest versions, and installed everything again.
Flash output still doesn't work and the WbShowPlugin.plg is still from 2010-02-26 and same size.

It doesn't seem that AquaSoft has fixed the problem

M L I purchased the software yesterday and it looks very good. Many of the tutorial videos are in German. Is there any chance they will be translated soon? I think the videos would be extremely useful to get started quickly and to take full advantage of the many features provided.

Sounds as if this product is not quite ready for marketing in English-speaking countries. i agree with ML, the videos would likely make a big difference in learning time and ease. That's certainly the case with many other products. Even if they just provided captioned versions or a script to follow, so they don't have to rerecord all the audio, it would be a great help, IMO.

AquaSoft @VLM AquaSoft SlideShow works flawlessly under 64 Bit, all parts of it. Seriously, we have a development team working full time inhouse in Berlin - we really care about what we do. And all we do is SlideShow - serious business ;-)

No software is perfect and we are constantly working on improving our software and squashing bugs once we see them. That's a promise we gave in the past 11 years and it will stand the next 11 years. We actually just hired new developers.

AquaSoft @ML - did you see our YouTube channel yet? All the video clips there are completely in English. We do have only one or two tutorial videos left in German, and yes the Germans have a whole pile of slideshow samples on their channel that we added you our demo library.

The software and it's entire documentation is fully in English, and so is over 90% of the tutorials. Some tutorials on our English blog are even more detailed than similar ones on the German website. Not perfect yet (after one year), but we are working on it.

Regarding these pieces of the suite ... EarthPilot 7, PhotoKalender 3, PhotoAlbum 3, ScreenShow 4 and WebShow 3 ... are these all in English and with reasonable English-language docs or tutorials or the like? It will be fun exploring the full potential of all these modules, as I don't even begin to have time to find out right now. :):):) (the one challenge ... and an opportunity ... of buying via BDJ :) Software Collector says they're good, and that's good enough for me!

From earlier but unanswered: Independent of the presentation capabilities, do I understand correctly that AquaSoft (and including BluNet and Suite) provides fully functional CD, DVD, and BluRay burning functionality, as well? Does the software actually enable one to author disks with information pages, menus, and the like? Perhaps this is what SlideShow Manager does? If yes, then does SlideShow Manager work for BluRay disks as well?

Does ScreenShow 4 allow a user to password protect a screen show, just like any other screen saver? Even when using the SlideShow plugin?

Finally (really ... my last question for this promotion! :) ... the BDJ Policy tab says license activation is not required. So a user just installs the software, enters the key code, and that's it, no online connection, hardware footprint, or anything like that, correct? In other words, when I buy a new system later this year (hopefully), I just uninstall (or deactivate) on the old system and move to the new one, correct?

AquaSoft @VLM - yes, all addtional products bundled with the Suite are fully in English. Some of the calendar templates are fairly international (different layouts), but it's not a problem at all to create the standard wall calendar as well.

Yes, SlideShow has burning capability built right into the software. The Export Wizard takes care of business - just complete the project and it will burn it for you, with autostart in the DVD player. SlideShow-Maker is the component that allows you to go unlimited: you can create a complex menu and burn multiple slideshow projects (that are started via that menu) on a single disk.

SlideShow BlueNet works fine with SlideShow-Master.

ScreenShow 4 can't password-protect a screen show (at least not right out of the box), sorry.

When you install our software, you need to enter a license code and some applications perform an activation. You can, however, veru easily transfer that license to a new PC, there is no limitation how many new PC's you want to transfer it to. Hope that helps.

Software Guy This is a good deal on a very good slide show maker. Aquasoft slideshow does not go on sale often.
This slideshow is full featured. You can build a very nice slideshow with this program. Just remember to be subtle on the transitions (we usually just use fades) and use pan and zoom gently and sparingly. Music makes a huge difference in how the slideshow is received. Pachelbels Canon is always a favorite (check the Lee Galloway piano version which is a favorite too).
This is a per computer license. Aquasoft maintains an excellent user website and your purchases, license codes and downloads are always available. Even older version downloads remain available. Aquasoft has other nice multimedia programs - check them out.

A lot of times I just want to drag some of pictures add some music to play.

Is it possible to automatically make the show fit the length of the music so that the show starts at the beginning of the music and finishes at the end of it and the slide duration is calculated for each slide?

Stuart Clarke Certainly doesn't work for me on Windows 7 x64: I can't get it to add a single image. I've shut down the program and re-started it time and time again but every single image I attempt to import from the image folders on my computer is blocked with an on-screen alert:

"You don't have permission to open this file" (Er, um, yes. I do. It's MY photograph. MY file. MY folder.) "Contain the file owner or administrator to obtain permission." (As noted, I am the file owner. I am the administrator. I do not need permission to add a test batch of 20 widescreen images from the 1,600 images in the principal 'Photography' folder on this PC because every one of them was taken by me and is owned by me.

I was genuinely interested in purchasing this product -- hence why I've downloaded the trial version from here. This is the first slideshow software I've ever encountered which repeatedly tells me I don't "own" the images I'm trying to import. All in all, a disappointing experience, and made all the more so by the fact that this is a time limited offer and will be over by the time anyone can figure out what's going wrong here.

AquaSoft Hello Mr. Hamilton, Thank you for the request, Yes thats possible: You can use a wizard called "SlideShow Master" for this purpose. It automaticly adjusts the duration of the images to the length of the music. How about trying it out ? Get the free trial at http://www.aquasoft.net/slideshow_dl.as .

Stuart Clarke Update to my earlier comment: I'm very pleased to learn Aquasoft is extending this offer, and especially grateful to the company's representative for coming on here to offer help with the difficulties being experienced in trying to load images into the program. "Directly from the creator - your benefits" and the last bullet point benefit is listed as, "Free updates".

There is no stipulation on it as listed in "The Fine Print" on Bits as, "Upgrades to future versions of the software will be free for minor versions only".

Which is it; Free updates (seemingly forever), or minor versions only?

AquaSoft I can see how that would be confusing and will definitely take it into account to clarify that point on our website. There is lifetime download of your same software version, so if you switch computers, have to reinstall windows, etc then you can always go tot the customer log in and re-download the latest version of your purchased product. By "updates" we mean that we are not just releasing for example version 9 and then abandoning it, we continue to tweak and improve it periodically based on customer feedback. And from within the program you can always , for free, access any improvements that we've made. What we don't however offer is free upgrades, so you wouldn't be able to jump from Slideshow 8 to 9 for free. Rather we offer customers a highly discounted upgrade option.

Chris I purchased v8 and just now purchased v9, but can not download. The link after payment and the email return this:

Which account are you referring to: the BitsDuJour account or another account? If you are referring to the BitsDuJour account, then the Purchases page for your account lists this purchase once in the "Off-Site Purchases" section. The Off-Site purchases section lists those promotions for which you have clicked the Buy Now button while the promotion was active. Since this type of promotions happen through third party e-Commerce systems (in this case this is Cleverbridge), it means we have no other information about your purchase.

Chris I figured it out. In order to get a download, I had to download from the German site.

peter anon Bought it and VERY happy with it, with one exception

The download link to the "English" exe in the receipt is 404 (as is the English demo).

As Chris said above, the German EXE is there and activates (and can run in any of the available languages from a menu)

@Aquasoft PLEASE sort out your product links

Michael User The tool looks good but the demo and site is in German as I understand the tutorials are. Could not even download the demo and the error message was also in German and I had to try to translate. This company could sell more if they clarified the English access to their products. But with some research here and at other sites this seems to be a major issue with the AquaSoft brand.

Michael User Thanks. I was able to download the demo. The issue now is in case I like the software, now the discount is gone. Will BitsDujour extend it since the demo was not available earlier ...or when would there be a next discount published?

Michael User That is unfortunate and in my humble opinion (and I am sure I speak for most on this) when there is a glitch in a promotion, provisions should be made in the better interest of your members to make it right by even extending the offer to keep members happy. I doubt that you have a member that would disagree. Just my 2 cents. Side Note: My best guess, the reason that more did not buy this offer is because of fear that the program would have been available only in German language.

I tried locating a Changelog with specific version numbers and dates of release. The product does not have free upgrades, only free updates (minor version numbers only), but there is no way of knowing when the next version will be released, and I need to see what the past was like (Changelog) to get an idea of what the future may look like.

Could you please direct me to where a Changelog is located?
