Anna Marques Hello Roberto,

Thanks for your email. ARIA all-in-one is a simple DJ, KJ, and video mixing software - a do-it-all entertainment solution for a consumer or beginner DJ/KJ.

ARIA KARAOKE PRO is strictly a karaoke show hosting software, so its a professional application that does ONLY karaoke, but it has many advanced features in this regard. Singers history, pre-adjust key in semi-tones, news ticker, etc.

We will be offering the ARIA All-in-one solution here, kicking off the 24 hour offer on Oct 1st. Great deal!

Thanks again!

Beth Rowan How much are additional songs for Karaoke? Do you have to buy individual songs, or are there groups/sets for purchase?

Steve Wright Having been interested in this software, I decided to test it before buying (obviously). This is from a Mac user's perspective.

The karaoke part is what interests me the most and a great selection of songs is available, however it seems you need to purchase them to try them with no test songs (unless I'm missing something). So I can't judge on the quality there. However, tried to preview the songs for buying and downloading, went to a site where the previews are, and they didn't play. Tested with both Google Chrome and Firefox, but I tested 3 or 4 different songs and each time the preview wouldn't load (and it's not my computer as all other flash components work fine within it).

I've tested the DJ side of it which is good and mixes well and, with a little playing around, you can get it working automatically by setting up a playlist without the need for the manual. However it is very glitchy, the search box becoming unresponsive many, many times and for one reason or another the software crashed around 5 times in the 30 minutes I was testing it (sure to ruin any party), as well as the audio becoming strangely distorted.

The app doesn't 'feel' like there was an effort on the Mac port and seems a bit cut and paste with the interface and it just feels awkward.

Haven't tested the scratching as I got fed up with it crashing in DJ mode, so can't judge that aspect.

Sad to be saying no to this one as it has a lot of promise.

Tested on iMac 3Ghz, 4GB RAM, no other 'strenuous' programs open, running OSX Lion (perhaps a problem with not preparing it for Lion?)

lotus dragon Downloaded trial and can not find the karaoke words anywhere, so can not trial it. The instruction video is more promo than instruction no sign of basic instructions in video or pdf.
So far no sign of it being simple to use and does not look like support is interested ie no responses here on offer day?
I was interested now I doubt it will do what it says on the packet.

Christopher Dean Attempting to purchase but it doesn't appear coupon code is valid. Any chance of getting this fixed before the offer expires? Selecting Windows version, by the way.

Anna Marques Hello, sorry I missed these comments! We do not include any free karaoke songs with our software. Karaoke music is quite a bit expensive, and due to the much reduced cost of the special offer here on Bits, we can't legally include any free karaoke tunes with the program.

You can use any standard karaoke files, mp3+Gs or zipped mp3+Gs. The built in store allows you to purchase karaoke files at the industry standard cost of $1.49. But feel free to drop in your own karaoke files, or acquire them from other sources for use in ARIA.

ARIA is designed to mix audio, music videos, and karaoke files - but you will need your own content. Simply add them to the library by clicking ADD and choosing a folder from your hard drive with content in it. - it will import and you can then play those tunes.

Think of ARIA as an interactive itunes type player, but one you can mix and record with, and do karaoke with lyrics output.

To the person that had trouble with the previews on our site, these previews are in flash - could it be flash is disabled in your browser?

Thanks!

lotus dragon Thank you for the reply though is now too late to buy, so I am still dis gruntled. Though please do not take it too personally.

There are two songs included with trial so including the lyrics for one or 2 would have given a chance to just try, so one could see how it works, are there not public domain lyrics?
As it was there seemed no actual Karaoki display LYRICS button, so trial is no good for Karaoki. With appearing as no button to get lyrics one would see no point in purchasing files especially as a trial. As downloads are of minimal cost to supplier including lyrics would have been a worthwhile investment to get the sales.
It would have been best to explain this better rather than end up with potential customers being put off by the frustration and seeming lack of support.
Perhaps the availability for macs is an after thought not well thought out given Steve seems quite knowledgeable.
Could you view this from the point of view of the customer please as there also seems nothing in the pdf about getting the lyrics up either.

It's not good biz practice to not be available during a promotion albeit it was the weekend that the promo was held it does not engender trust or answer the questions on time.

I hope you find a solution to these things and can restore your potential customers faith and give them a chance to get it at the same price again with plenty of notice.

kind regards grumpy potential customer

Anna Marques Points well taken! I actually didn't realize the questions were for the day of the sale as well - which was a huge oversight by my part agreed!

As for the lyrics, if you're playing a karaoke tune it will automatically display the lyrics in the small preview video box at the bottom left hand corner of the software GUI. If you also look below the video preview window you will see a button to expand the display to fully screen (it will automatically fill the secondary screen if you have one connected via extended desktop - or similar setting on a MAC).

The songs included aren't karaoke tunes as you noted, but mixable audio tracks. The public domain tracks available today for karaoke tunes are very limited - but I suppose we could look to include something like the national anthem or similar so people can immediately connect the dots. Karaoke is expensive, no doubt. At the low rate we offered this special at we really couldn't include any. When someone buys the product at the full retail of $79.95, we include 10 free karaoke songs.

Regardless, you're feedback has been eye opening and well taken. I do appreciate you taking the time to let me know your thoughts!

lotus dragon Thank you Anna,
I do appreciate your explaining further and that you personally are answering and perhaps juggling all aspects of your biz.
I am glad you could see past the grumpiness and find some of the feedback helpful.
I agree the public domain tunes are going to be limited and somewhat yuck! to some,May I suggest you clearly let people know why they are there if you do include such, incase someone thinks it's indicative of what is available and therefore more suitable for an old folks home than a rave Karaoki party.
However maybe there are some 'folk tunes' that would span several generations interest, not sure what time limit there is on tunes becoming public domain though 50 yrs maybe the case.
(btw you finding 10 that would appeal to many must have been difficult)
Is there an email to contact you by, promise i won't grump unless you have done something dastardly meanwhile.

kind regards less grumpy potential customer
