Constantin Florea @Tim User, I just asked the vendor to clarifying this issue.

During giveaways we need to promote the latest version of the product, the set of features of the giveaway version must be the same features as the product version which is sold on the product website.

But that is the general rule we follow when promoting:

y x @Tim User to me it is the free full version
normally ashampoo offers apps with year numbers as version numbers for free but as a stripped down version with fewer features, etc. Normal version numbers are the full paid apps, but there are also freewares in this category

winoptimizer (pro) 18, 19 - trial version
winoptimizer (free) 17 - freeware

winoptimizer 2023 and winoptimizer 25 are the same version (25.00.18) but differ in download size, so the first one is not as feature rich as the second one

but to complicate and confuse customers even more ... if you click on "learn more" you'll find a price tag ($29,.99 (for version 2023) and only $50 (for version 25)) but also the info "State of the art system optimization–free for you!" (version 2023)

to sum up, I guess this is a strategy to show how generous they are by giving away software that is normally is not free although it is similar to the free version (regarding download size and features)
