Andy Jones I have been using Auction Sentry for about 6 months now and love it. I have it set to snipe within 5 seconds of the auction and it has not failed me on over 20 auctions. It quickly pays for itself.

I also use it to watch my own auctions and it will even track the profit for you. Plus you can keep an eye on your items to see who is bidding on your items.

Kevin Wade Its one of them programs you want to tell the world about, but you don't want them to uses it against you :-)

It is just brilliant! even lets you select multiple bidding, (bid groups) and cancels the remaining bid once you have won one at the price you want.

You just leave it running and win auctions at the price you want to pay. It will pay for its self on the first time you use it 'cos you won't get bidding fever.

Hope you sell loads, but they don't bid against me.

Michael M Oh man, I can't rave enough about this software. I have been using it for two years.

I have been on eBay since March 1998. Back then to snipe an auction I had to have two browsers open, one set with my bid and cursor on the "confirm bid" button.

The other was open to the auction where I constantly hit refresh so to see where the bidding was.

Also, I have my PC clock set to the atomic clock so to make sure I bid at the right time, usually with 5 seconds to go on an auction [my record was buying an $800 item with three seconds remaining in the auction].

Later those online bidding services came along and those were GREAT because I could set by max bid price and not have to be present for the auction.

Then Auction Sentry came along and as they say, the rest was history.

The difference between this software two: first, it is set up on your PC and not through an online service. That is COOL. Second, the price is way less than the online services, for doing far more.

I won't go into detail, but this program is such deal and steal. In the two years I have been using it I have NEVER had it malfunction. It has placed my bids, at the time I set.

WARNING: This program requires that you have an Internet connection. It works best with an "always on" connection so it can log on to the net and check the status of your auctions that you want it to bid on. For example, if you tell it to, it will monitor auctions and alert you when someone has outbid you. This enables you to change your bid if you want. How cool is that.

Oh, the developer is VERY responsive to e-mails. When I installed the program on a new computer he got right back to me on giving a license for the new machine. He also got back to me on a tech support question.

Bonus Comment: I don't care if people know about this program. I am cleaning out my 400 square foot basement and listing things on eBay. So I want people to bid on my stuff. Get this program and start bidding.

Daniel Hite Michael,

It's good to see a past customer posting about my software here. With regard to synching your PC's time with an atomic clock, Auction Sentry Deluxe already has that feature built into it so it is not necessary for you to use any other time synch utility.

Thanks,
Dan Hite

James Helton Dan,

This is the best sniper I have ever used. I was in withdraws when I upgraded to Vista and the update was not available. I was honored when you gave me my min. of fame for beta testing. For anyone wanting to be a competitive bidder this is what you need. Just don't use it against me. =)
AWSOME PRODUCT A+++

Shelley C I use this all the time - and I get good results - (doesn't help my checkbook any - because ebay is so addicting) - - So if you like to ebay like I do and can't be at the computer all the time - it's a wonderful tool.

David Allen Its a shame Dan dose not post the negative comments, I have had problems with memory leaks in Auction Sentry and Dan dose nothing about it.
It would also be nice if Dan would set up a forum where we could view everyones problems.
It seems Dan cant accept any negative comments about his product.

Michael M Dan,

I know that your program has the clock sync with the atomic clock. I was referring to the old days, that I had to make sure my clock was in sync.

By the way people, I did not want to get into a ten page review, but this program is as detailed and sophisticated as you want it to be.

It is very well thought out on all the possible ways people might bid on eBay. For example, there are some bidders who want to check the status of an auction ten times a day. This program can be set to do that for you.

There are some people who don't feel comfortable bidding at the last seconds of an action, this program lets you set the time before the auction ends to place your bid. I feel comfortable bidding within the last few seconds so I set the program to do so.

Bonus warning: You can set the program to start when booting up your PC. Do NOT set the program to NOT boot up. The reason I say this is because it is easy to forget to open the program. If you forget to open it, then your auctions set for bidding will not take place because you forgot to open the program. So set the program to start on Windows boot up.

Bonus warning 2: There is another option to set which is "Minimize When Red X Clicked" You want to select this option to on. The reason is because otherwise when clicking the Windows red X you will close the program, which means it is not running. Same result as above, the program will not be doing any bidding for you since the program was closed when you pressed the red x.

When you check to "minimize" on clicking the red x, the program icon stays in the system tray and is running in the background.

James Pieper There isn't too much to say that hasn't already been said. I am a satisfied user of Auction Sentry for over five years and Auction Sentry Deluxe for nearly three years.

It is well worth the $10.00 annual license renewal charge on the Deluxe version. As a fairly active eBay buyer I saved many times the license fee.

I would conservatively estimate that I've saved over 40% of average eBay selling prices by bidding low but frequently on items there are several of. On the other hand, with items that are more rare, I snipe with my maximum bid in the last five seconds.

Probably my favorite feature is having the ability to add auctions and snipes, even for multiple eBay accounts, with just a right click on the results list from an eBay search.

Thanks Dan, for writing, supporting, and constantly improving the most effective eBay tool I have ever used.

Dan Hite David Allen,

I have no control over what comments are posted here. As you can see from your own post negative comments are not blocked.

With regard to your complaint about memory leaks, I can't reproduce that problem. I have thousands of users who aren't reporting any problem with memory leaks. I'm not sure what would be causing this problem for you.

I can and do accept criticism of my software. When a user emails me with suggestions or complaints I always respond and work with the user to help them.

Thanks,
Dan Hite

Paul Beauchamp I have never lost an auction with Auction Sentry Deluxe. At $9.98 it's more than worth it. For an eBay skeptic, I guaranty it will pay you back on the first or second auction.
I am now on my second year using this program and won't consider trying anything else. I would pay twice the renewal fee from year to year to keep using this program.

Craig Uyeda What a deal! I am renewing my subscription. I paid full price for the 1st year and thought it was money well spent. Excellent program with excellent features. We should all be writing negative posts about it and buying it secretly. By promoting it we're all potentially increasing our bidding competition.

Scott Faulkner I have been an Aucton Sentry user since August 2002, and it has paid for itself many times over. I highly recommend this application to any e-bay user. The only support I have ever needed is when I have replaced computers and needed a new key. On those occasions, the response has always been very quick.

Michael M Dave Allen... not sure what your problem is. I have had it on two different PCs over time and both have worked perfect.

I run lots of programs on my PCs and have any number of them in my system tray. I have never noticed any memory leaks.

About the only gripe I have, but it's not the program's fault, is when I boot up I have so many programs that start booting up takes about two minutes. Auction Sentry is one of the programs that has to boot up which I think takes about 30 seconds.

Other programs that boot up are Zone Alarm, RoboForm, SureType, QuickTime, AnyDVD, and BackUp Genie.

AK Marks I used Auction Sentry when it first began and up graded three times. It works well and there was always good support.
When Dan began the annual charge I re-evaluated the service and tried an online sniper located in Poland that was free (for two years). I liked it a little better than Auction sentry as it is so fast you can reliably bid during the last 5 seconds.
That service now charges 19 cents per successful bid. I decided to look at A.S. again during this sale but will stay with my present because I don't buy over 50 items a year. Nevertheless, Auction Sentry is a good product.

Steve Murray I've been using Auction Sentry for at least 4 years with ZERO problems, and my subscription just ran out for ASD. I can't say enough good things about this product... and especially about Dan's speed & customer service. It's amazing how well he keeps his product up!

Dave Allen - I suggest you look into your own problems, it's not the software. I'm a Software Engineer and a computer expert, and there is no memory leak in AS or ASD.

Dan - I can't find anything on your website about what happens when the 1yr ASD expires. Does it turn into plain AS or just quit running? If it turns into AS I'll buy it under a different subscription, otherwise I'll renew (i.e., 4 of my computers vs. 2 since I already have AS) Thanks Dan, love the software!

When the license expires the software stops working until you renew the license. If you need to renew please do so through the software's Renewal screen rather than purchasing a new license.

If your so smart let me have your e-mail address and I will send you a screen shot of the memory this program is sucking up.
Shut it down and restart it and problem is gone.

Dan Hite
Why dont you change the software so it reverts to the standard edition when it expires, its kind of blackmail the way it is now as you loose all your bookmarked auctions and snipes.

Now I dont know if it could be the cause of the memory leak but have you tried to duplicate the problem when you have bookmarked current and ended auctions including won auctions, I have 47 auctions bookmarked at the moment and still have the problem.

And while were at it why do you keep ignoring me request for a forum.
Regards
Dave
