Greg M Disappointing, for me... My reason for being interested in this software was I thought that it would allow me to *EASILY* record my own voice and then make my recording sound like someone else spoke it. I thought this might be handy for some video work that I do: perhaps I could change my average, middle age male sounding voice to be like that of a radio DJ, or a much older and seemingly wiser man... etc. I can almost always figure out software within 30 minutes of seeing the UI or reading the documentation, but I felt that I struggled with AV Voice Changer. I couldn't find any help menu in the program. The documentation on the vendor's site is full of advertisements, which make me wonder what is more important to this vendor: selling your software or making money on adverts? Anyway, after about an hour I was able to record something: I had to switch from Mono to Stereo before recording would work, with my Plantronics head set. When I recorded my voice it simultaneously played back through my PC speakers which made recording frustrating. I could not find a way to stop this. The trail version seems to allow you to use one of about 6 pre-determined "settings" to hear the impact that each of these has on your voice. To me, it sounded like my voice was being sped up, much like the sound of playing a record at a faster speed that intended. This was not what I was hoping to hear. Apparently, in the trial, you can't freely tweek the settings that affect your voice; you have to use one of the pre-sets, and if you don't like them to bad, you have to pay before you can try other settings. What's the point of having a 14 DAY trial if I can't come even close to fully testing the main reason to purchase the software? The software also doesn't seem to be fully compatible with dual screen and on a high resolution monitor, the UI is difficult to read: the text is very small and unclear (I have 20/20 vision). I decided to uninstall the trial and not make a purchase. Assuming the software can do what I want, I need to see a much, much improved UI and documentation that shows me step-by-step what I need to do to make the type of changes that I want to make. As it stands now, this software either doesn't do what I want, or it's just too time consuming for me to figure it out.

AVnexy, you already have a trial time limitation so how can we evaluate your crippled trial program properly with most of the important features disabled ?. It's not an inexpensive app so we need to be able test it properly. Those annoying trial popups are a real turn off. The licence policy is also worth noting for it's strict limitations.

Stefan Hauber I love the idea and have to admit I always was looking for a software (or gadget) doing this in real-time.

I just looked at the video and it's funny, but the output was not soo much convincing for me. The outcoming voices were not so authentic and sound a little like computer voices. Or am I too influenced by knowing, that they are. (But even Louise (in the video) recognized the caller and did not think it was a second person... ;-) ). Unfortunately I don't know how good such a computer-result can be at all. So perhaps you did what is possible at all.

The ultimate product (in my mind) would analyze the parameters of the input of a person A and adapt that result to the speaker B, so that whatever B was talking, it would sound like A.

What I do like (in the demo) was the possibility of a background-noice. But, of course, this is an easier thing to implement...

As a former comentator said, I would also like to use this software to change a recorded voice, like in an audio-book. I'll have to check, if this is possible. In my mind, if the result would not be calculated at real time, but would produce better results, because of more complex calculations, this would be perfect.

Still have to test, to decide...

Richard A. This is silly. You can't test the main feature - the voice changer - in the trial.

There is also an annoying bug that makes the interface disappear when you click on certain features so you have to kill the program and restart it to get it back.

Dan P Installed and lost the use of Skype as AV Voice Changer took over and left Skype dead. I had to quickly uninstall to talk to my friend and even that didn't do the trick. I had to go back into my Skype settings and correct.

I was going to buy unseen but this puts my purchase in doubt.

I would like to get something better but there should be some recommendation before i even thing about purchasing it with that policy ond the right -
I normally reset my Pc 2 times a year and if i cant install it again it should be extremely good for me to consider.

Roman Malakh The Demo is very limited and doesn't give to experience the software and that's disappointing. Also after installation, it changed my skype settings and I couldn't hear or speak in it.

Louis H I have tried all of this vendors products in the past. I even purchased a "VIP" membership that allowed me to use all of the products. My eventually opinion was that I had wasted my money.

(I am being nice here, out of respect for the folks at BDJ. Otherwise I would be using much more descriptive terminology. I have no respect for this vendor.)

None of these products performed at anywhere near a level I would expect for products with a high MSRP. Support kept promising improved versions that would work. While I was using the products, those promises never came to fruition.

Perhaps the product has changed, and your mileage may indeed vary, but unless you can get a fully non-crippled version to test out, my suggestion is buyer beware.

Jerry S The demo is absolutely awful. Functionality is so limited that it is difficult to form an idea of how usable and worthwhile the application is. Extremely limited functionality on the demo. I'm going to order only because I need something like this and the publisher offers a 30-day refund policy. Based on the company's website, I don't trust them at all, but I do have faith in BDJ if I am disappointed and decide to seek a refund.

The publishers of this program really, truly need substantial help with their marketing.

Jerry S Giving credit where credit is due. The publisher responded quickly to my refund request and hopefully will process it in the next few days.

They also offered to provide support in getting the product running, but I declined the offer. I'm running a mainstream system with nothing oddball about it. Programs like Audacity and other audio applications run without difficulty and installed without the hassle of this one.

Overtkill Quick question...

Does this application allow for real time voice modification for use in custom live remote recording?

We sometimes use real time voice recording for live presentations and conferencing. It would be nice to be able to have a client be able to record something that was shown in a conference room remotely, and still apply a tweak to their (My clients) voice to sound more business like and professional, in a way like you might hear a hired voice actor. But without having to burn a lot of time and money doing repeating and editing a perfectly good presentation.

AVSOFT Corp. @Overtkill: Thanks for your interest in our product. Voice Changer Software Diamond (VCSD) is able to change voice in real time. However, you need to make sure that the application you intend to use with VCSD can recognize VCSD's virtual audio driver as an audio input.

CFGuy Dear AUDIO4FUN Rep - The program looks very interesting with lots of features at a very reasonably discounted price. Question about something in "The Fine Print" section - "Online license activation is required with a hardware footprint, and 2 installations per footprint." Does this mean that, during the lifetime of the software, if I were to upgrade my current computer, or get a new replacement computer, I would only be allowed 2 activations total (no exceptions for the previously mentioned circumstances)? Or am I perhaps reading this wrong and what you are trying to say is that the program can be installed on both a user's desktop and laptop computer, as long as it is not used at the same time. If you would please clarify this activation question, I would really appreciate it. Thanks! -Cfguy

Christian User Only 2 resets of the license is allowed (while asking for it) and.... in the year that follows the purchase of the software.
Past this delay one is obliged to pay a supplement for a simple reset of the activation of the software that one paid, to install it again for example on a new computer !
Fine Print :
"After you AV purchase Voice Changer Software Diamond it may be used indefinitely."
This affirmation is false except if one keeps the same computer all his/her life
A publisher that I will avoid so much that he won't have changed the police of use of his software
One of my commentaries that yet brought these precisions useful before a purchase has been suppressed whereas it specified the truth merely !!!!

The only change is the number of resets (now unlimited) during the year that follows the purchase of the software !!!
But who changes more than two times his/her/ pc during one year ?
After one year the user must pay for a support service renewal for 12 month length (19$95) for a simple reset of his/her license !!!!
( this procedure would have to can be done merely from the account user....)
This unjustified protection (unique) towards the faithful purchasers is for me (and for others) a deal-breaker for the purchase of your products.....

Bradley MacDonald Installed the software and tried it. Voice recording was a little rough (but I am using a Laptop mic). When I tried to un-install - it fails to un-install giving me an error about "Could Not Open Install.Log File".
Now I have to figure out how to clear it from my system. Does the author have any thoughts as to what might be causing this?

@QBSQLSupport: it's most likely you chose the wrong sound driver when using the computer. Please check your Sound settings again and choose Microphone (High Definition Audio Device) as the Input Device.

@Bradley MacDonald: To solve this problem, please follow the steps below:
- Open the directory of the installed software. Normally it will be: C:\Program Files (x86)\AV Voice Changer 9.5 Diamond
- Move the INSTALL.LOG file to Desktop
- Go back to the directory of the installed software. Double-click to run UNWISE.exe
- A window shows up to ask for the Installation Logs File » Locate to the INSTALL.LOG file on Desktop
- Continue with the uninstallation

Javier Gil I had a horrible experience installing this. First of all, for some reason this program thinks that your selected sound options on your computer are just wrong, and selects its own without even asking. So the first thing I noticed was that my speakers no longer worked, and neither did my microphone. Sure, I was able to sort it out by diving into my windows sound system and set it up correctly. Then I tried to open a simple short mp3 file, but the program hung, so I re-started it but the same thing happened. After 3 times, I just decided that I'd had enough. I'm using a W10 on a pretty fast system with 24 gigs of ram.

We are so sorry to hear about your unhappy experience with our product. We understand that it must have been very frustrating for you to find it doesn’t work as you expected. Due to some unknown technical bugs (yes, we also haven’t found out why yet), but happens to particular cases, after finish installing, AV Virtual Driver will be auto selected to be the default audio devices. We will appreciate your understanding that it’s not our intention to interfere in user sound settings and that we are working out for a solution for this issue.

Andres Florez Herrero A year ago I bought the product and I have not achieved more than strange sounds and attachments, I also deconfigured all the sound of my operating system. By the way, there has only been one update. Surely the next one has to pay again. Company strategy?

Hace un año que compré el producto y no he conseguido más que sonidos extraños y acoples, también me desconfiguró todo el sonido de mi sistema operativo. Por cierto, solo ha habido una actualización. Seguro que la siguiente toca volver a pagar. ¿Estrategia de la empresa?
