What are people saying about Backup Dwarf - Lifetime Unlock License For All Clouds

K Anderson A few questions.

Is there a way to turn off the splitting of zip files?
I would like to have a single zip file up to 4GB.
Is that possible?

The fine print states that major version upgrades
will not be free but on one of your web pages
it states....
Free upgrade forever
For all customers all upgrades are free forever.
Which is correct?

Thanks.

Katarzyna Skorczynska Currently there is no way to turn off the splitting, but this might change if zip64 support will be added in v3.0.
The upgrade will be definitely free from 2.x to 3.x, but from that point they will only be within a major release.

bsr007 I attempted to buy this software but the purchasing processor is indicating a price of $13.30 (30% discount) rather than $9.50 (50% discount). Can this be corrected please?

Can the backup-file be encrypted?
In my opinion this is an absolute-must for ftp-files.
If yes, which encryption-Methode do you use. If no, is this on the todo-list v3.x?

HJ B 1. this program be set to automatically send the backup file to other drives on a LAN or to services such as Dropbox and MOZY?

2, Are there any typical computer environments that do not reliably permit backup to a remote server?

Thank you.

Katarzyna Skorczynska @Michael R.
Right now there is no encryption, but it is on the todo list.
@HJ B
Yes, you can set the target directory anywhere in your LAN.
Hmm, not sure if there is such an environment.

How do I get my new license key for version 3?
Will you still be making updates to version 2?
Not everyone has upgraded to Windows 10.
On some computers I'm unable to upgrade to it.

Any information would be helpful.

Katarzyna Skorczynska @Keith Anderson: First first first: Please write us an email to support@krksoft.com and I will provide you with a valid key for version 3. Even though the planned version 3 is not what came out as version 3.
Now the long story:
Things has changed since the mentioned sentence has been written and we made a decision to completely rewrite the product with a different target in mind. There will be no more updates to version 2 (unless a critical fix is found by a registered customer). Version 3 was originally planned to support ZIP64 and FTPs but this plan was dropped. Version 3 is instead a Windows Store app only (due to multiple reasons like cracks, updates, feedback, stats, UI, single platform to support etc.) and ultimately everyone will be on Windows 10 since Microsoft drops support for older OSes one by one (just to mention Vista only this month). Also the app now stores the backups on clouds and not on FTP since cloud usage is more prospective. Local file system is still supported though so it is possible to store backups on a network attached storage.
Backup Dwarf also supports now ZIP64 format so it is possible to backup more than 4GB.
