Bryan Darby Seems like a nice piece of kit but my computer tells me that it's dangerous and deletes the installation file.
How do I get around this, please?

Jul 4 2017 at 1:07am Copy Link

Colin McAllister My Win 10 has detected Trojan:Win32/Rundas.B and will not allow this installer to run!

Recommended action: Remove the threat now.

Tetiana User Very strange, try to temporarily disable the antivirus.

Robbie User Speccy is free, trustworthy, and looks better than this.

John User I have to agree with Robbie. I tried this on a prior offer, but went back to Speccy and Belarc. Thank you for the offering though.

Doris Ballard Installed without any issues, but it should be noted that only 1/2 of the information they provide about your computer is available to you without upgrading further.

Available: Summary, CPU, Memory, BIOS, Motherboard.

Unavailable: Hardware, Video, Audio, Network, and Optimize.

So, although the top bar claims that this version is the:

"Black Bird System Info (PRO license with no free upgrades)

Clicking on the selections I've listed in the "Unavailable" section brings up an ad which says:

"Sorry, this function available only in the PRO version"

... and tells you to "upgrade to PRO"

However, "Optimize" brings up a different ad, which tries to sell you other products.

So far, I'm not impressed. Most of the information I see is available through the control panel if you know what you're looking for - or in the BIOS when the computer boots up. If it really were the "PRO" version, as it claims to be in the top bar, it would be worthwhile, but it's apparently only a trimmed down tease.

Derek Tubby Downloaded and installed with no problems. Registered and activated with supplied activation code, whereupon it displays the message "Pro license with no free upgrades".

I expected this to provide "Pro" functionality thereafter but this is not so. Most of the useful features are not available and when selected, bringing up a message saying Pro version only. This is NOT as advertised. What's gone wrong?

John Gallagher I just scanned the download on VirusTotal.com: 0 detections, so looks clean. Then I installed with no problems from N360 or Malwarebytes on windows 7 x64. It runs OK too. Can't understand the pricing - BDJ 100% discount shows full price is $16.95, but selecting to upgrade takes you to MyCommerce purchase page that shows $19.99. No thanks - I'm willing to wait for a BDJ discount offer to purchase the Pro version because all the pop up ads in the free version are annoying.

Tetiana User Hello, there was a mistake. BitsDuJour wrote the wrong price. Current price - $19.99

Tetiana User Greetings, we fixed the error. Please restart the program.
Thank for using our software.

Black Bird Cleaner - Jul 4 2017 at 10:11am Copy Link

Doris Ballard The "fixed error" was that it said it was the PRO version in the top bar. As it is, it's not worth much. I uninstalled it and downloaded the above mentioned programs instead ... which don't have ads on 1/2 of the buttons, and give a tremendous amount of information - free.

John Gallagher Yeah, Robbie User, John User & Doris Ballard!
I already had Belarc, so I installed Piriform's Speccy free version, and like it very much.

Mike Shanahan I installed the program via BDJ link provided in the email, put in the activation key, it says it is activated for PRO... but all the "pro" functions are still saying they are unavailable. I restarted the program, same problem. Waste of time. Speccy is free and offers the same thing, so does Belarc Advisor. Thanks for the "free" offer that doesn't offer the "pro" features that is supposed to be "free."

Slartibartfarst My Malwarebytes blocks the blackbirdcleaning.com website as it is listed as "malicious".
Judging from the comments above, this "special offer" on BDJ seems to be useless and rather looks like a scam.
My recommendation would be for BDJ to withdraw the offer right now, limiting their risk of losing credibility/trust even more than they already have by making their offer in the first place.
The other "offers" on BDJ today look very dodgy/useless as well. I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole after this blackbird thing. Has BDJ been hacked or taken over by some kind of scam?
