Noggin The Nog You say that this program runs on XP, but it requires .net 4.5, which apparently will not install on XP.

Yes, we stopped the support Windows XP.
Windows XP is realy old OS and required too much efforts.
But if you need you can use old version of Bookmark Docs.

You may wish to amend your product details where you say that it will run on XP.

But it's good idea to add Scrivener support. We will try to add in the next version.

Noggin The Nog I finally found v5 on your website and installed it, but it does not seem to work with pdf files, and I cannot see how to create new "storages".

Harald Vogel It seems that PDF X-Change editor is still not supported. Are there plans to change that soon? Thanks. Also in older posts you talk about the release of V7 and we are still at V5. Are you still working on this software?

bvssunnydale Hi, I suffer from CRIMP [Compulsive-Reactive Information Management Purchasing - from OutlinersSoftware, an excellent PIM site] and purchased this in 2010 but never actually installed [not unusual]. I have the activation code from the purchase and was wondering if I'm eligible to purchase the "Renewal for 3 years with a 83% discount for $12.45," which would include a download of the most recent version OR if I need to purchase/upgrade a new copy? I do like the 3-year renewal option but want to make sure it's applicable. My prospective use for this would be for bookmarking audio files with VLC [I'm forever half-listening to podcasts and forgetting where I stopped]. Thanks.

Yes, PDF Bookmark Docs supports just PDF-XChange Viewer.
One our customer sent request about support X-Change Editor one and half weeks ago. So we are working on this and haven't finish yet.
So we are are going to add support to next version.

lisba f I installed but disappointed. First you cannot use it with Unicode characters. Second (and most important to me) I thought you can handle bookmarks WITHIN a document, not have them stored in some place outside (which already is the case with PDF and I'm quite satisfied; and also Microsoft WORD, but that needs improvement - you cannot use numbers or leave empty space between words). Thanks for working in this area.

V M I installed and was disappointed too lisba f. I opened a rather long PDF. I bookmarked a page closed the PDF and tried to locate my new book mark and Bookmark Docs took me back to the folder where the PDF that I book marked earlier resides and not the page that I book marked and was wanting to return to. Unless I am doing something wrong, I would like to utilize the described functions, but it seems to me that this software does not work as advertised.

We support Unicode characters.Yes maybe there is some bug, in this case we will fix it. Please send us example problematic path to support@bookmarkdocs.com

Bookmark Docs stores information outside document. It helps to work with locked for edit files and so on. And main reason that we try to make universal bookmarks. It means that you don't need to remember which file or file type. Like cross document bookmarks
