DH007 No reply from the author so far. Though "Upgrades to future versions of the software will be free up to the next major version and minor versions thereafter." to me means that you should get all versions until v 2.9,99 (current is v1.3.12). It depends however how honest is the developer with the numbering of versions - if the pace if slow or galloping with new version every 3 months..

Rob Nolan I purchased this yesterday and never received the email with the code or link to download it. I emailed their tech support 24 hours ago and so far no response. Apparently I'm NOT the only one having this issue.

Gary Smith The Book 3D software program was first developed for the Mac, and now they have a Windows edition. Not all of the features that are available in the Mac edition are available in the Windows edition. There is no Changelog on the developer's website to give a concise record of evolution or what all might be different.

From what I have learned from the developer's website, the user must create an account, and must be logged in to use the product. That is a bit much to ask for an audio equalizer. Having a direct connection to a website for usage could mean monitoring what the user plays or uses the program for, in essence collecting data that alternatives have never required.

The program also has its own player and can play streaming radio stations. Of course, if you want to listen to radio stations that offer an online stream, you can use a Windows widget free of charge. The fact that a player is part of the product makes me wonder if other audio players can be used. Many modern computer systems come with superior audio capabilities, including an equalizer and even surround sound simulation/3D effects that must be close to what Boom 3D does. I'm not sure what this program (Boom 3D) offers that those systems do not already have.

It looks like everything is geared toward the Windows Edge browser, and possibly will not work with other browsers. I do not use the Edge browser, and I do not want it crammed down my throat. The Microsoft connection is obvious from the browser to the msi installer to the NET requirement.

The company is located in southern India, so they likely are not worried about what anyone in the U.S. thinks of their attentiveness. Maybe they will come around and answer some questions and justify why the user account requirement is not listed in the BisDuJour details. India is well-known to collect as much user data as possible. How that data is used is never known. An example of collecting data by this company is evident in the link to their website (there is an intermediate URL).

If there was no requirement to create an account and no idea how long the user would be able to use the product, I might have been more interested in taking a chance with a purchase. In retrospect, I am glad I didn't. I tried to install the Trial version on Windows 10 but received an error. At that point, I dropped all interest.

Susan User If you have paid for this program this is how you download the software.
1. Go to their website and LOGIN. Enter your email then click. It will take you to a page where you enter your name and a password and verify the password.
2. Once inside their site when you see your name at the top right go to the Boom3D icon and download the software.
3. The download will l tell you you have to download a Microsoft Runtime program and will send you to that site.
4. Download the Microsoft Runtime progam. I would reboot.
5. Download Boom 3D.
6. Once downloaded click on the Boom3D Icon on your desktop.
7. It will upload a page where you login again. Use the email you registered with.
8. It will then register the program for you.
9. Hope this helps.
