What are people saying about BrowseEmAll

HarBri IE9 reports this download as unsafe whilst Norton completely deleted it from my PC, also claiming it to be unsafe. What is wrong with it? How can it be trusted if IE and Norton declare it unsafe?

Daniel Herken Hi Brian,

Norton and IE report the BrowseEmAll-Trial as unsafe because it's not signed using an official certificate.

If you are concerned about the security of this download you can see a VirusTotal scan result here:

http://bit.ly/wEtrEt

or run you own test.

Roberto could you clarify about the updating and upgrading system of your software?

we have to upgrade every 6 month at your website price?

we can have free updates until next version, and paid upgrades when the new version come?

im not sure if your product is suscription based or you give 6 month protection upgrades for major versions.

Daniel Herken Hi Roberto,

As browsers are changing very fast BrowseEmAll needs to be updated frequently (so you can test with the current version of every browser).

If you purchase a license you can use BrowseEmAll without time constraint. The purchase includes 6 months of updates (including new browser versions and new mobile devices like the iPad3).

If your 6 months expire you can renew your update period. The upgrade pricing can be found here:

http://browseemall.com/Buy/Upgrade

If you choose not to renew your update period you can still use BrowseEmAll, but new browsers and devices will not be included.

Jan-Christoph Ihrens The price obviously is the one for the Standard edition (without iPhone, iPad and Android simulators, although mentioned in the description above). Will the Professional edition be discounted, too?

Also, I'd really like to take a look at your forum before purchasing, but it seems to be down (I get a 404 when klicking on the link). Is this just a temporary problem?

Apart from that, you should correct the text in the Policy tab of this page - at the moment, it says "For versions after that, upgrades will require additional payment, which will not be discounted", but the link you provided in your last posting leads to a page where the discounted renewal price is listed. ;-)

Daniel Herken Hi Jan-Christoph,

the standard and professional editions will both be discounted. The prices will be:

Standard: $28.99 (retail $57.00)
Professional: $52.99 (retail $107.00)

The Policy tab is correct. The upgrade prices (as mentioned in the above post) are full price. You can see the (full price) upgrades here:
http://www.browseemall.com/Buy/Upgrade
The renewals are not discounted in this promotion.

Thanks for pointing out the forum issues. I will try to fix this asap.

Jan-Christoph Ihrens Hello Daniel,

thanks for the information regarding the Professional edition and for fixing the forum issue so quickly!

I guess I understand the policy differently. In this context, "not discounted" in my eyes means that I have to pay the full price for the software every six months if I want the program to be up to date. But I haven't, I only have to pay about 45% of the full price for a renewal (based on the Euro prices, I didn't check the USD prices).

Daniel Herken Hello Jan-Christoph,

your right to get 6 additional months of updates you don't have to pay full price again.

Niels Salling My websites are completely asp based and not tested locally but on test site.
How do BrowseEmAll apply to this scenario?
Mar 18 2012 at 7:22am Copy Link
0
Daniel Herken Hello Niels,

you can test your websites on test site as well. Unfortunately ASP does not produce 100% cross-browser compatible websites.

If your websites are targeted on older Internet Explorer versions (7,8) and/or mobile devices, BrowseEmAll can help you simplify your testing.

Greetings
Daniel Herken

Lupke Brother Hi Daniel,

I use MS expressions web 4 super preview. This software only shows IE and FF, so Browsemall has a big advantage. But...what about Adobe Browser lab. It's free and does a lot. I don't have time to test Browsemall today, so I hope you can tell me in short what the advantages of Browsemall are above Browser lab's crossbrowser testing functions. If you don't know, just let us know.

Daniel Herken Hi Lupke,

Adobe Browser lab is an online service which let's you compare screenshots of your page taken in different browsers.

BrowseEmAll is more than that. Some key differences are:

- BrowseEmAll runs on your local machine so you can test websites hosted on your local machine or in your local network
- BrowseEmAll comes with all the different Browsers, so you don't just get screenshots. This way you can test web applications and JavaScript / Ajax
- Moreover you can inspect and compare the DOM and calculated CSS across the Browsers integrated with BrowseEmAll.
- BrowseEmAll comes with the different Rendering and JavaScript engines, it does not just install all the different Browsers.

I hope this answers some of your questions.

Jan-Christoph Ihrens I just installed the trial. As a feature of the trial, "DOM, CSS, and layout inspection and comparison" is listed. How is this done? I guess it hides behind the ladybug button, but nothing happens when I click on it.

I'm interested in the Professional edition, but this just has to work...

Daniel Herken Hello Jan-Christoph,

to try "Inspect and compare" just select IE7 on the top right. Then you can select the button "Inspect and compare" on the bottom right.

You can take a closer look in the video (1:10):

Jan-Christoph Ihrens Hi Daniel,

thanks for your reply.

The video doesn't make it clear that I have to choose IE to use the feature, too. ;-) I thought I could do this from any browser.

I tried comparing with Firefox 11, but it just says "Loading...". When I close the Inspector window, I can't switch browsers anymore and have to close BrowseEmAll. If I don't, and instead try to open the Inspector window again, an error message is shown ("MultiBrowse has encountered a problem and needs to be closed"). I sent you a report regarding the crash.

BTW: What is the ladybug button for, then? I tried all browsers included in the trial, but it didn't do anything.

Daniel Herken Hi Jan-Christoph,

you don't have to choose Internet Explorer, you could also compare Firefox to IE or the other way around.

You'd you try launching BrowseEmAll as administrator and try again?

The ladybug button should launch your default EMail client to send an email to us.

Jan-Christoph Ihrens it would be nice to be able to add more screen resolutions for the desktop browsers, plus maybe a "custom" one that can be set "on the fly". Could you imagine adding this feature?

Sukru Boztepe I am using XP.

The trial version does not seem to have IE9 and iPad options, which I am most interested in. Is there a way to add more rendering options?

Daniel Herken Hello Jan-Christoph

the custom option is already planned for the next release.

What screen resolutions would you like to see integrated?

Sukru Boztepe How and where can I see the DOM, CSS, and layout inspection and comparison?

Daniel Herken Hello Sukru,

just open the trial and choose Internet Explorer or Firefox on the top left. Then navigate to and webpage.

After the page is fully loaded you can klick on "Inspect and compare" on the bottom right. After a few seconds the dialog comes up. Now select the "DOM" tab.

You can see the DOM of the current selected browser on the left. You can select a browser to compare with on the top right of the dialog.

Hope this helps.

Greetings
Daniel Herken

Daniel Herken @Sukru,

On windows XP the IE9 option is not available, as Microsoft does not allow to run IE9 rendering on Windows XP. The trial includes an Android tablet rendering which is compareable to the iPad.

Unfortunately I cannot integrate other renderers in the trial "on the fly". Please drop me an email to dherken@browseemall.com and I will see what I can arrange.

Greetings

Sukru Boztepe I am sorry Daniel:

I do not have "Inspect and compare" button at the bottom right as you have it on the video tutorial.

And I only have IE8, IE7, FF11, Chrome12, Safari5.1, Android4.03, and iPhone.

I thought the software could help me render in many more IE, FF versions such as IE9 and also iPad.

How can I test my web design against those browsers?

Sincerely.

Jan-Christoph Ihrens @Daniel: "the custom option is already planned for the next release."

One custom resolution or the possibility to add several own values to the list?

"What screen resolutions would you like to see integrated?"

None in particular, I'd just like to be able to add my own to the list.

@Sukru: As discussed above, it should be visible in IE (button) and Firefox (link); the other browser engines don't have this feature.

The Trial does only include a subset of all available renderers. The full versions include as follows:

Standard:
IE7, IE8, IE9, Firefox (3.6 up to 11), Safari 4,5 and 5.1, Opera 10 and 11 and Chrome 12,16

Professional:
All of the standard renderers and iPhone, iPhone4, iPad, iPad2, Android (2.2, 2.3, 4.0) and Android tablet 3.2 and 4

You will be able to define as many custom resolutions as you like (using the settings dialog). I think this is generally a better solution than me trying to integrate the right ones.

wtv cash I was testing the BrowseEmAll with a page that has CSS issues. This CSS issue makes the menu looks like a staircase in IE9 but ok in FF.
I tried loading the page in BrowseEmAll using IE7 & 8 and the page looks like the corrected version.
I need to delete the temp file in my IE9 and then the problematic page appears.
BrowseEmAll is using the IE9 cache and fool me into thinking that my page looks ok in IE7 & IE8.
Will cause problems for me especially I need to review many web pages.
