Chris Okay, the site isn't down, I had to disable my Adguard for it to work. The fine print needs to be changed. The price shown is for their lifetime updates, not current subscription.

Chris The fine print is all messed up then because it also says "Each license allows installation on a single computer and a laptop."

That suggests 2 computers.

gpardo7 I just tried out the app with three different videos from Youtube. Downloading speed was like 55 KB/s (15 min for a 52 MB file). Then the quality of the image was so bad the video was useless. It's a pity because it looked like a good deal.

Raymond Callan What a farce - takes forever to download a video. Then when you try to convert to MP3, there's no option for MP3, or, for that matter, MP4!! Just something called webm - 3 options of that & one option for m4a??!

Their website how-to is wrong - on how to convert to audio, first, you can't do it using the video file you downloaded you have to download it - audio only. Step # 4 says "select MP3" yet the diagram only shows MP4 which, as i said, isn't even an option.

Stick to YTD Video Downloader which BdJ have several times during the year. It is a REAL professional downloading app.

Oh, btw, i'm using Win 11 - seems to work OK but maybe i'll change compatibility mode & try again. Probably a waste of time!!!!

L. D. User In the fine print it states:

"After you purchase ClipDown Video Downloader it may be used indefinitely."

"Upgrades to future versions of the software will be free for current subscriptions."

The first statement says it may be used indefinitely which I gather means that the subscription (as they put it) is indefinite!

So does that mean that upgrades to future versions will be free indefinitely?

That's certainly what it seems to suggest.

As this is quite a new company, or at least this particular program is certainly a new one on the market, being v1.0... if they're offering permanent free upgrades as the fine print seems to indicate, it makes me wonder just how long they intend to continue working on this program, or if they're just going to take the money & run and ditch the program in the near future.

I guess only time will tell, but this one seems a bit of a risk to put money down on at this point until the program has been around a little longer and is a bit more mature and well known.

Just my two cents.

I would like to know however if the fine print means that it has permanent free upgrades or not.
