What are people saying about Close All Windows

Hourglass94 Can this app close programs that are running in the system tray at shut down?

I have a troublesome app that sometimes won't close automatically in Windows 10

If it can do that it would be great!

No, it can't. CloseAll lists only apps visible on taskbar and in Alt-Tab list.

Thanks for the info.
Is it possible this could be added in a future release?

I doubt that it is possible. There is no universal way to close all tray applications -
each of them has its own way.

As a solution to your problem, I would recommend you to find a command line to close this specific app and add it to your shutdown scripts:

Thank you!

Thanks very much for your honest reply.

Despite Close All Windows not fulfilling all of my requirements I'm going to buy it anyway.

Your Winsnap application runs faultlessy so if for nothing else you deserve the support that you've put into Close All Windows.

Gary Smith I have my browser set to re-open all tabs from the last closing. If I have 20 "common" tabs open in the same window, then I open a URL in a new window, it is important in which order those two windows are closed to ensure the next time that I have retained my 20 "common" tabs. ... If the window with the 20 "common" tabs is closed first, then the second window, the next time I start the browser, it will have only tabs that were open in the second window. Therefore, I have lost all of my 20 "common" tabs that I wanted to start out with.

The number "20" is not significant because I have had and have seen others that had 40+ tabs open, and want to preserve those same tabs. Rebuilding 40 browser tabs puts a dent in your schedule of course, so if that process can be avoided, I want to guard against it. There used to be a great Firefox extension that stored those tabs so it was easier to get them back, but that extension stopped development. The problem is not limited to Firefox.

Therefore, does Close All Windows have a way of specifying which of the two browser windows is closed first or last?

Alexander Avdonin Windows are closed in Alt-Tab order - the window on top of the list will be closed first. With browser windows, I think the safest option is to close those with tabs you don't need manually (by clicking X in the CloseAll list) and only then close the main one.
