What are people saying about ColorPro

Daniel Walker Does this allow you to work with a 'large' - umm, picker window? With say CorelDRAW or Photoshop (versus those tiny things they provide).

Does this show HSB/RGB etc values all the time? (or in setup is fine)

Nico Westerdale Yes we have nice big color mixing windows and you can easily copy and paste color values into CorelDRAW or Photoshop and even import or export palettes. Check out the screenshots:

Daniel Walker Thank you for the response. Screenshots - my complaint is that IF you are going to post -any- screenshot - make it LARGE so we can actually see what is on the shot - full screens at a tiny size make no sense (why bother). Post a thumbnal, if that is all someone else needs, fine - I can't see all that well in the first place - thus the giant monitor - but with no large screenshots to see - no good.

Nico Westerdale BitsDuJour only allows 575pixel wide screenshots but there are wider ones on our site

Maarten van Loon Hi Nico,

My Firefox Add-on Webdeveloper showed that warning when I visited the ColorPro page. Is said: "CSS error: found #22 where a color was expected".
The CSS-file should have been: http://w.sharethis.com/sh...3f97af.css

Thats's all!

No big deal..!

I don't know if it's true. Just wanted to let you know.

Regards,

Maarten

Daniel Walker I -STILL- don't understand the value of showing screenshots that are NOT large enough to READ what is on them. Ooooo pretty colors - great. Now link to larger ones so the text is readable.

This looks very interesting ... I might buy it ...

Nico Westerdale We do have a redesign coming up which will allow us a wider page on BitsDuJour. After that we should be able to move to a wider screenshot format.

Frank Stephens This isn't the place to comment on website errors. If you'd use a real browser like IE9, which has extensive developer tools, you'd discover that most websites are filled with hundreds of errors of all types.

Maarten van Loon I've just found out that I can shift the 'main' window, so the buttons appear. But of course this should happen automaticly and by default.
I'am not sure now if the program will remember by settings when I restart tomorrow.
Just to let you know.

''Perhaps some more research by the developer"?

VLM This is an Iconico product ... that's essentially BDJ's own product line, yes?

Nico Westerdale Correct, it's not supported by our payment provider.

Mina Friedman It's a little overwhelming - all of the options.

I downloaded the trial.

It was a little tough to follow the Presentation videos for some reason. I'm not sure if they are in order, but I think I would have preferred a Getting Started style video. Maybe it's there and I missed it.

However, in reviewing the video, I refered to the Manufacturer's Getting Started page, and I find the feature useful to import the website you want and grab colors from it.

I'll probably purchase it just based on that fact alone.

The trial lets you only load in certain websites, like Google, Yahoo, Wikipedia, so I haven't reviewed my sites yet.

I'm looking forward to doing that, but I hope they have a User Manual or something so I can get all of the benefits of the product.

Thanks.

disenchanted There are several websites, books, etc, regarding websites and their overall approach to "Color Psychology".
Whether a website's color schema attracts, repels (or nauseates) site visitors.

Does colorpro offer users any sort of "best practices" color scheme suggestions or guidelines?
In regards to a website's overall "color psychology" practices?
To improve visitor appeal.
To get visitors to take action.
Etc?

Pete User I purchased ColorPro in 2017 and installed version 2.6. The user interface has many glitches and mis-aligned or out-of-scale buttons or icons -- but the app works. Today, in 2022 it seems the current version is still 2.6. I would be willing to purchase the program again if it was updated and the glitches were fixed.

Is this program still under development?

Robert Crombie "Peter User"
MS has an idiotic setting (don't recall what they call it) which allows us to change the size of Text, but not the rest of the display. If you wish it be 'normal' it has a setting of 100 DPI. Probably yours is on a higher setting.
Change it back to 100, and I bet it solves your problems.
Anyone else tempted to use that dumb/idiotic setting, DON'T.
Instead just get a bigger monitor.
