That's strange, I'm not seeing any comments by Rune Johannessen (in fact, yours is the first as far as I can tell).

But to answer your question, each license is actually a single-user license - meaning you can use it on as many computers as you need it on, so long as you will be the person using the program. So yes, a single license will cover all of your home computers.

Phil H Aaron - can you tell me whether it's possible to import color selections into MS Office (esp. Powerpoint)? Also, is your color picker integrated into Color Schemer (e.g., can you use Color picker to select a color, and is that automatically available in Color Schemer? These are the two functions that I use most often.

Aaron Epstein Hi Phil,

Unfortunately, MS Office doesn't make it easy to import colors into any of the apps. The best way I would recommend is that you can use ColorSchemer Studio to find the RGB or HSL color values for the colors you want to use, and then you can manually plug them into Powerpoint, etc. I wish it was easier, but if/when Microsoft makes it possible to import colors in a simpler way, ColorSchemer Studio will support it.

As for the color picker, are you referring to a screen color picker? If so, ColorSchemer Studio does have a built-in screen color picker that will let you pick colors from anywhere on your screen.

bob roos I bought it only to discover that my programming system uses BGR order of colors. Talk about strange results!

I wonder if they would consider adding an option to change the order?

Otherwise, a very nice program especially for color-challenged folks like me.

Aaron Epstein @bob: There is currently an undocumented way to create your own custom copy formats in the app.

On your PC, you'll want to open the file located at:
%appdata%\ColorSchemer\Studio\2\colorformats.xml

After opening the colorformats.xml file, add the following line:
<format space="1">{b}, {g}, {r}</format>

You can use {r}, {g}, {b} for RGB values, {h}, {s}, {v} for HSV values, and {c}, {m}, {y}, {k} for CMYK.

Use {r} for 0 - 255 scale
Use {r.r} for 0.0 - 1.0 scale

space="1" is for a copy format that should appear when operating in the RGB color space, and space="2" is for a format that should appear when in the CMYK color space.

Now save the colorformats.xml file, and restart the program, and the new copy format should appear in the popup menu.

bob roos Super support! One thing about BDJ apps is that (for the very most part) the developers are VERY supportive.

Aaron, that changes the order of the decimal values, but I need the hex value order reversed to BGR. I could get the rest of the formatting -- we use 00bbggrrh as the color. the 00 and "h' were easy to add.

bob roos @Sebastian F. Bug? I am not talking about a bug here, but the order that my programming language stores the color in hex value. It is 00BGRh. I can get the 00 and the "h" no problem. I just need something like {hex-b}{hex-g}{hex-r} for tokens.

We're selling ColorSchemer Studio, which is the more powerful version. The basic ColorSchemer is on Version 3, so it appears you have an earlier release of the more basic product.

Also, does this program support SPOT colors? Does anyone still use SPOT colors anymore(I have been out of this field for quite a while...over 15 years in fact!)?
This looks like a nice program though, and at this price I can afford to use it for personal use!

And while the app doesn't support spot colors, it does support both RGB and CMYK colors. I hope that helps!

Carl Thorpe I use ColorSchemer Studio 2 daily for webdesign and desktop publishing work. In fact, I rarely close it. It is a great program, and I especially like the fact that you can pull up community created color schemes in it.

bob roos @Aaron re: James. He is referring to the same problem that I have. My programming is all done with BGR colors. Color Schemer only provides one way to get that sequence. We are all hoping for a MODE where everything is BGR. It is most confusing to have things RGB and be working with BGR colors.

I think there is more of a market for that than you are thinking. How about it? Are others looking for BGR colors?
