What are people saying about Copy Protect

Pedro Laurent I was reading the policy and it says "Copy Protect may be installed and used on 1 computer." That means I can not transfer the software on another machine?

I download it the software to try it out and to my surprise the software doesn't work right with my laptop because of the resolution which is 1400 x 1050, I can not see the Start button and the software screen is not adjustable.

Rob S Does the software require activation and can the license be transftered to another owned computer? Can you imagine having to buy all the software you own again in the event of a motherboard or hard drive failure.

SoftCollector Dear Developer,

I have a CD presentation, consisting of an *.exe file, starting a sequence of htm, swf, mp3 and jpeg files. Again, they are all part of a single CD presentation.

Can Copy Protect be used to make a single exe file from those, or will each of them be made into a separate exe file (which will obviously not work well for me).

In general how are such complex CD presentations handled by CP?

Kind Regards,

NewSoftware's Inc. Pedro Laurent,

I am really sorry for any inconvenience that we may have caused but it seems like you are using an incompatible combination of resolution & DPI settings for your screen.

Please change the DPI of your screen from 90 (default) to 120 and you will be able to see the Start button.

We are working on the compatibility issue and will be fixed in our next update. Thank you

NewSoftware's Inc. Rob S,

The software only needs to be registered using the registration details provided at the time of purchase, nothing else needs to be done and no internet connection required.

Yes, in case of a hardware failure, you will be able to transfer the license to a different computer. You may need to contact our support for that.

Thank you

NewSoftware's Inc. SoftCollecter,

I'm afraid, Copy Protect doesn't support .exe and swf files and files cannot be combined together in a single exe file.

Thank you

lisba f Two questions.
a. When I send an email to somebody with a PDF attachment, is there a way that Copy Protect hinders him to forward my attachment to a thousand people?
b. You write:
Best of all, even though your media files are fully protected, you'll always be able to view, play, or read any protected media file or document without undue hassle. The secret? Copy Protect .
With the help of CP I can read 'any protected media file or document'?... And this doesn't mean that *anybody* with CP can open my supposedly protected files? (I guess I don't fully understand your words).

DH007 I have just tried your "unbreakable protection" and it seems it simply checks Volume ID (At least in the case of USB Flash Drives). Therefore when I changed it the protected program worked OK even when copied. Does the Full version have some more tough protection scheme? Like Hardware Fingerprint.

Anyway, is it possible to protect with a third party tools. That means to use your program only as a wrapper and protect with Enigma, Themida, Private EXE Protector etc.

Finally, does the program have some Anti screen capture feature?

Stephen Kreyling This was released in 2011 and it does not seem to have new updates since them.

Doug Lietz Questions:

1) Can I use this software to create a CopyProtect version of my MP4 videos files that my customers can download... rather than me having to burn the files onto a CD or DVD? Once the customer downloads the CopyProtect video files to their hard drive, does that mean they will only be able to play the video on the original hard drive that they saved the file to?

2) Is it required that the end user (customer, recipient) be using a PC to access/watch the CopyProtect files? Or do the files also work on Macs? What about on tablets and other mobile devices?

3) Does the software work with Windows 8?

4) If I burn multiple CopyProtect video files onto a CD/DVD, is there a way to create a navigation menu to make it easy for the end user to see and access the different files on the disc.

5) Similar question/concern as Stephen Kreyling regarding the last software being way back in 2011. Multimedia files over the past few years have been evolving rapidly. Are the updates planned to keep up with changing technologies in the marketplace?

dojistar Software worked better than expected. Downloaded the trail version before buying. Needed something to get an acceptable white balance, facial colors and run unsharp mask on many selected photos quickly. Does much more. Highly recommended.

No, you cannot copy protect videos which could be downloaded -- Copy Protect does not have this feature.

Yes, even if somone attempts to clone the copy protected CD, they will not be able to duplicate the data for distribution, this is because the file format of the orignal file is changed by copy protect

HJ B 1. Will this program protect: MS Offices documents, pdfs and plan text documents?

2. If I give such a document to someone, with the key to look at it, what prevents that person from passing along the document and key to other people?

3. Does this application also restrict printing, i.e., if I give a protected document to someone to look at, will he be able to print it (to paper or pdf) if I do not want to authorize that?

4. Generally, anything that can be displayed on a screen can be captured, as a graphic, and then put through an OCR process. I assume that this program does not guard against that. Am I correct?

Gary Smith The developer has not been active in answering questions, so this product may not get a lot of sales. Regardless, I too have questions ...

On the product website, it has this statement:
"The program converts your media files into executable files that will only run in the drive you choose using the program. If these executable are copied to another device or drive, they will simply not run."

It seems that the user can create an executable on a CD or DVD (or USB device). In the case of the CD/DVD, if a "CD/DVD cloning" program is used to create an exact copy, what prevents the executable from running on the copies? For other media, such as a hard drive or external drive, or USB device, if a drive image is created, wouldn't the copies be the same, and therefore be executable as well?

Please answer because there are potential buyers of this program.
Jul 20 2016 at 2:43pm Copy Link
Chris I believe that the images and other stuff you protect with this program can only be viewed on the same computer you protected them on. In other words, the exe file it creates calls the program up to view the image, pdf, etc. or view the video. I also think if you send the protected file to someone and they have the program installed, they will not be able to see the protected file(s) as it wasn't protected on their computer.
I think that this is for people that share their computer so if someone steals the exe files of your protected file(s) while using your computer that they will be useless on another computer, even if they have the program installed on their computer.

Gary Smith @Chris,
>I believe that the images and other stuff you protect with this program can only be viewed on the same computer you protected them on.

The video and their website implies that the user can create CDs/DVDs and flash-drives for distribution to interested parties, which implies that the files would be for use on a different computer than the one that created it.

Their video ends with "if this sounds too good to be true, give Copy Protect a try and see it for yourself."

I still would like to hear from the developer.

NewSoftwares .Net @Jerry Jones @Danny We have discussed with our development team and they told that Copy Protect is compatible with Windows 10, The only thing is that sometimes it takes time to protect files on Windows 10. So, our development team is working to resolve and trying to fix it in future versions.
