What are people saying about CUMeeting

Nelson Therrien One of the features of similar products (like Adobe Connect or TeamViewer) is that when we share screen, we can also see and take control of the computer the viewer is using... This is important for me, since I'm using those to teach (and I need to help my student if he/she is stuck somewhere)... Is it available with your software as well?

1. Absolutely, we support remote control.

2. Yes, it only promotes for the first year, for next year, it will charge original price.

3. Auto-renew still supports 8 attendees as the original plan you purchased.

4. 16 way videos means we support 16 video streams displayed simultaneously. If there are more than 16 people, we can display them in turn. Here 8 attendees package is the basic package, if you want other packages such as 25 attendees or 50 or even more, just contact us at support@cumeeting.com, you also can get the same discount.

5. It is app that you need to download. If you want to try, contact us and we will send you the download link and trial account. It is free for 15 days. I see your apply and I will send you the free trial accounts.

Alexander Deliyannis 1. So, to be clear:
- 16 is the technical limit of simultaneous video feeds in CUMeeting generally.
- The present promotion is for the Basic package which supports up to 8 participants. Therefore, the 16-feeds limit is irrelevant in this case. Correct?

2. I am personally very interested in your solution. My team uses web conferencing all the time for providing services across Europe but up to now we have been relying on some ubiquitous and overpriced solutions I am sure you have heard of. However, can you please provide your company's headquartes location? I find it very hard to talk serious business with companies that don't disclose this. It's not a shame to be based e.g. in Eastern Europe, many remarkable ICT companies are based outside the US and the EU--and I for one am grateful for that.

3. Does your company have servers around the world to optimise traffic between overseas participants?

Some of this info might be somewhere in your website but I was unable to find it.

ezTalks 1. You are totally correct. But if you want the premium package, we can still provide the same discount.

2. Our company is located in China, but the server for our software is located in US. You can free try and see if the speed is okay for you. So no risk for you.

3. Yes,we have the plan to locate our server in some important area such as Europe. But now our server is located in US and China. But we may achieve this soon.

JamesCGW Thanks for the deal! I teach online and at times I need the following:
1. Remotely access students computers (which the program does)
2. Allow the students to access my computer?
3. Share my (laptop) LCD, and/or a second or third external monitor?
4. Share Foxit, Adobe PDF, Word, PowerPoint or OpenOffice apps?
5. Have 8-12 hour sessions online, 5/6 days a week?
6. Have students access laptops at my location to perform labs?
7. How large of files can be shared? Maximum size?
8. Will it run on Linux as well as Windows?
9. Make another person Host or Presenter?
10. Allow students to remain together online if I leave the meeting?
11. Allow students to also write to or change the whiteboard?
12. Allow more than one whiteboard to switch between?
13. Any wired, USB wireless, or Bluetooth headset using Windows or Linux?
14. Have virtual lab rooms for each student?
15. Is there a price guarantee (locked) if multiple years are paid for in advance?
16. Is support offered 24/7 and where is support located?
17. Able to remove or dismiss an attendee?

Sorry for all the questions but I use a number of different solutions but yours is at least the most reasonable in pricing? And yours is a nice looking product, very well done. The video was helpful to watch.

Thank you very much.

Nelson Therrien I also really like TeamViewer and I've been looking at other solutions since yesterday...

I would say, for my use (teaching), both Adobe Connect and TeamViewer do the job... CUMeeting would come third (and I tested about 10 solutions...

BUT, if you consider the license for TeamViewer, it is free for personal use ONLY... If not, it costs at least 689$ (one-time fee)...

So, it's the price of about 3 years of Adobe Connect... And many years of CUMeeting.

At 40$, this is the best you can get (if you use TeamViewer legally)... And even after the first year, it's still cheaper than the other solutions (remember, after a few years, you'll also want to upgrade your TeamViewer license)...

JamesCGW VLM thank you for clarifying what I was trying to get at. You must present a lot as I do and I have tried a lot of different solutions but they are too costly. I had forgot about a side conference person assisting. Thank you.

Now CUMeeting.

As regards headsets VLM is absolutely right it should not matter what brand or model headset I use. I have run into a problem with a popular Conferencing/Chat utility that a certain company M$ has partnered with. My Logitech wired headset works with everything but that service. My Plantronics Bluetooth works with it as does my USB wireless headset.

On the virtual lab-conference-meeting-room :) I need to put students into separate "rooms" or areas where they cannot hear what I say to another person. I also need to put a computer in the room with them and give them access to it so they can work on lab exercises, since I host the lab computers remotely from them. Then as VLM says return them to the Main room to continue our group meeting until the next exercise. And not have to create the rooms every time they are put into one and the rooms do not go away but are there for the next day.

Whew . . . lot's of questions but it does seem that your product does what the others do and thankfully at a lower cost of ownership.

Btw, it is now approximately Monday 8am CST so we should be able to get the license within a few minutes or so should we not? What time does the department that handles licenses start?

VLM - - - - with multiple monitors I was thinking more along the lines of meeting controls on monitor #2, PDF or demos on monitor #3, with monitor #1 being used just for me watching movies or TV shoes or gaming (which I do not have time for). 8-) -- can't hit a guy with glasses.

Teamviewer is focused on remote control and related features, but CUMeeting focused on video conferencing, they are different.

As Bitsdujour scheduled on Sunday, I have no choice. But we can extend the discount for another day, so don't worry about this. Also you can apply a trial account firstly to have a try.

ezTalks @VLM

1. Now we only support two monitors, but no way not to display the monitor. Do you guys think it is important for you? Because we need more information to see if possible to add this in our upgraded plan.

2. Now we have three roles for our meeting, Host, Presenter, Attendee. Host is like the meeting organizer who has the highest authority. Presenter is like the teacher, trainer, etc. Attendee has the lowest authority who can just listen, but can apply to speak. Also can apply to be presenter.

3. If attendees wants to remark on whiteboard, they need to apply to be presenter firstly, so if anyone wants to remark on the whiteboard, they need to get your permission (presenter) firstly.

4. I think I may misunderstand this. I thought your question was our software if supporting Linux, so the answer is no. But for wireless or bluetooth headset, if okay to use in your computer, it will be okay for our software.

5. Thanks for your clarification. For your question, the answer is absolutely YES. The presenter/host can select the users they want to a separate room for another meeting.

6. Sorry for the missing of that. Yes, the presenter/host can dismiss the user.

7. Host has the right to manage the conference, if the host has something to do, he can also designate other attendee to be the Host.

8. One host only can organize one meeting, if you want to have 2nd meeting, you need to have another host account.

Hope above answers are clear for you.

JamesCGW CUMeeting, yes the answers were great now just to determine if I want 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 years. :) Probably 2 or 3 to begin with. IF it will be at this discount price for each year as you indicated it would be. Will it? I hope.

Thanks for all the answers and question from everyone it sure helps when making a decision.

1. Yes, for 2 or 3 years, the discount is also at 78% off.

2. We have lots of servers in China. Also we have server located in US. So I don't think latency is a problem, anyway, you can test the speed firstly. We use Windows OS.

VLM JamesCGW - Glasses indeed! LOL, good one! Yes, I do present quite a bit, though not recently so. But soon!

I like your elaboration about the virtual lab etc. Very well put, and I echo the question.

Regarding timing, I have a feeling they may need a bit of time to get all this up and running. Perhaps they are a bit overwhelmed by the response, and by all these questions, and by the desire on the part of so many to buy higher-order and longer-term licenses. They may even require a meeting! :):) BTW, it appears to be sunny, no wind, and about 68F in Beijing right now. But I don't know what part of China these folks are in. javascript:WebForm_DoPostBackWithOptions(new%20WebForm_PostBackOptions("r$c$cmdSubmit",%20"",%20true,%20"CXrc",%20"",%20false,%20true))

VLM JamesCGW, I believe that all multiyear purchases will be handled BEGINNING tomorrow, Monday. So I think we're okay in that regard.

CUMeeting -

If I understand correctly ...

3 years @ 25 users = USD 246.84
3 years @ 50 users = USD 373.56
3 years @ 100 users = USD 563.64

Correct?

And you only wish to make this offer available for 3 years maximum, correct?

On a different topic, I thought, in an earlier response, you said that we would be running through a US-server. Now, it sounds as if it might be some combination of US- and China-based servers. Is this correct? This may be important, because frankly, the Chinese government is not well known for respecting the privacy of anyone on the planet. We realize that your company will do whatever it can to preserve privacy, but there are limits when faced with a behemoth like the Chinese government. Which is not to say that the US government has behaved any better, I suppose. Perhaps you should put your server on a ship in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. :):) Perhaps we all should.

Hope to see the Pro product, perhaps with some upgrade option for those purchasing at this time.

Best wishes!
