CYA Software, Inc. Peter Dr - We did have such a page at one time but it got damaged during a backup of the site a couple of years ago. It just never got repaired and put back on the site.

I'll see what it will take to resurrect this.

Peter Dr Ouch! This is not what you want a backup to be doing...I was curious to find out what the more recent changes are. Could you perhaops just list a few of the highlights?

Also, just to be clear: this deal is for the Extended Version?

And thank you for your very quick response to my last question.

CYA Software, Inc. Peter Dr - We never clearly identified exactly what happened but never realized people actually read those things........g. Guess we may need to see what we can do to get it back into shape.

Several of the newer additions are:

1. Added ability to attach multiple documents to each item in the catalog
2. Ability to re-locate items
3. Several new reports
4. Re-vamped and streamlined the entire backup facility

CYA Software, Inc. Peter Dr - In my haste I failed to answer your question. As I understand it you can select either the "Standard" or "Extended" version on this campaign.

This can be done on the CYA order page.

Peter Dr Thanks Lee Hydechuck for your responses. Perhaps not many people read that update sort of thing, but I usually do -- especially when I am updating from an older version. If I updated, without seeing what the hardworking developer has been up to, I could easily miss noticing some neat new or improved features.

If you have lost a bunch, it might be too much of a hassle to restart it from scratch. But as you continue to improve CYA from year-to-year, it might be fun for new uses.

Good luck with the "Deal".

CYA Software, Inc. Jay long - If you mean, "can you have an item in one currency and a different item in another currency", the answer would be no.

Loco Driver Hello Lee,

A little confusion on price vs. version.

Your website says Standard is $29.95, Extended is $49.95
The BDJ page shows 59% off $49.95 = $20.48

So will the offer be for the Extended version at $20.48?

Than ks,
Peter
Feb 8 2013 at 1:00pm Copy Link
0
CYA Software, Inc. Loco Driver - The deal is 59% off the price. The deal was setup for the "Extended" version but we also wanted to make the "Standard" version available at the same discount.

Click the "BUY NOW" button to access the order page. Initially the order will be for the "Extended" version but you may select the "Standard" version using the product drop list. The same discount applies so the "Standard" version will be priced at $12.28.

It will make a whole lot more sense if you go ahead and click the "BUY NOW" button and check it out.

Does this help?

So one might assume that it will be some time before the next MAJOR (paid) update (or Upgrade).

» Peter, you are NOT alone !!
I too read the changelogs closely not only before buying, but at ea upgrade also. And so does everybody I know ...
And I screenshot «every» single one, so I can keep abreast of the changes, integrate them, change settings, etc :)
» Lee, do hope you are able to restore the changelog page, at least for the last couple of years

I'm buying this app, the price is very reasonable!
Yet again, something I didn't consider at first, but think I need...
I really need to stop coming to BdJ, I buy WAY TOO much stuff here! :-P

CYA Software, Inc. EVERYBODY - Please forgive the late reply to your questions / comments. Of all days for it to happen we lost our utilities for most of the day and of course the internet was included.

It seems someone was unfortunate enough to collide with a utility pole nearby and disrupted a huge area of service.

Hopefully they have it repaired adequately.

Julian DuFresne I also have a version question that a change log may have helped with. This was offered about a year ago, and like Chris Roy Jackson wondered about timing for the next major upgrade. I noted it was version 2.9 then, but this is version 2.1??? (You can see the links in "frequently bought together" off this page.)

Peter S #Wally L: the situation is slightly CONFUSiNG: If you carry out a Bitsdujour Software Search, URL: [http://www.bitsdujour.com...our-assets]

Prior to yesterdays C_Y_A listing, there's a total of 150 User Comments & Vendor Replies THAT's 150 that aren't linked to this current promotion url

CYA Software, Inc. Peter S - I agree with your suggestion about combining the previous comments with the current deal. It is, however, out of my control. Roger will need to address this.

Thank you for your purchase back in August 2012. I am certainly confused why you haven't even installed it yet, much less taken the time to get your home and personal assets cataloged. As one comedian often says, you should "Git 'er Done". Don't wait until it's too late. We here this story from others and it isn't pretty.

BTW - 50% off is still a heck of a bargain!!

Peter C1 Hi Lee, You may or may not know that Plimus is not the most flexible online purchase method company to buy software through (compared to Shareit, FastSpring or "Google Wallet" aka "Google Checkout" which is a superior alternative to PayPal for the same cost).

PLiMUS doesn't allow Buying as a GiFT (important for me) or buying in a name slightly different to what is on your credit card (again important for my situation) NOR does it allow sending to a different Delivery Address compared to the buyers Billing Address.

So once payment has been made and everything has been successfully transacted, can I then contact You by email & ask the following:

1. the License Name to be slightly changed (for example using Middle name instead of 1st/Christian Name)?
,or,
2. the License Name & License Holders Address to be changed (same as Buying as a GiFT)?

In the case of the 1st question sometimes Vendors have told me that any name can be shown as the License holder, so long as the correct registration code is used.

Software Babe As an SE myself, ALWAYS list the changes to your app(s) in a very timely fashion. No application is worth its salt if it does not list improvements. This helps the user to understand also what the program will do for them, as well as show that the developer really cares about his/her software.
Feb 10 2013 at 7:49am Copy Link
0
CYA Software, Inc. Peter C1 - One advantage that Plimus provides, that others do not, is the ability to generate the registration key and include it in the receipt Email for us. This is important for us in that your "Registration Name" is the "SEED" for generating the key. The end result of this is that the key is created instantly by Plimus and included in the receipt Email. Otherwise each user would have to wait for us to receive notification, generate the key and then send in a separate Email. Depending on the DOW it could mean a couple of days delay in receiving the registration key.

1. - Of course, upon request, we can produce a new registration key for any user if they would like to alter the registration name.

2. - We certainly can accommodate the purchase of multiple copies as gifts to others. We have done this quite a few times for our customers. Simply contact us for the simple instructions on how to handle the ordering.

Does this help?

CYA Software, Inc. ANYBODY - Could someone please go to: ( https://www.plimus.com/js...rrency=USD ) and drop the "Method of Payment" list and report back here as to whether the "Pay Pay" method is available?

I have spent the last two hours attempting to re-configure the Plimus templates so I can allow you to enter the "Discount Code" AND be able to select Pay Pal as your method of payment.

While you're at it, could you please test this for each of the products that are available.

It seems there is some sort of caching going with my browsers or Plimus is throwing a wall of crap at me.

Anyone??

Julian DuFresne Sorry- please ignore my previous comment on version. I realise now it's two.ten. Normally with version numbers I'd read 2.10 as being BEFORE 2.9. (I thought minor upgrades were usually 1 decimal place, with following numbers being bug-fix releases.)

Lito Just bought your program, but ran into a couple of little issues. When it starts it asks for the registration info every time, I hit cancel and I check about and it is registered to me so I am not sure why it keeps asking me to register every time.

Also I can't find an option to change the default location for the data files. This is kind of an important issue since the data will have many pictures. It's not something I want eating up space on my SSD C drive. It looks as if I can change it by editing the dp.ini file, but this really should be an option in the program.

It WOULD (however) be nice if they could provide another alternative for those of us who prefer to pay by PayPal... perhaps a special link which they could create in nteir PayPal "BackOffice".

CYA Software, Inc. Lito - Although you were successful (this time) in altering your data location by editing your Windows Registry, please do not encourage others to do the same. Should you suffer any type of "other" issue that requires a technicians assistance and the registry has been altered we make no guarantee that we will be able to assist you.

Just be advised that you should consider anything in your Windows Registry "sacred" as you really don't know what all it might be used for. Such as CYA backups???

Everyone, please understand we are following the guidelines provided by Microst. If they change the rules (again) you may render your data inaccessible.

CYA Software, Inc. Chris Roy Jackson - Thank you for your reply regarding PayPal.

Rest assured we will be in touch with Plimus technicians today attempting to get an answer why we were unable to make to provide this important purchase method when our PayPal account is active and working.

Al Aymer Does the current non-availability of PayPal mean that the offer will be extended until the problem is resolved?

CYA Software, Inc. Al Aymer and ALL wishing to purchase with PayPal - I have discovered the issue may be related to browsers caching the previous list instead of rendering the window new each time. It also seems that perhaps FireFox may be the biggest culprit.

I have tested on several other computers in our office and PayPal is available.

The coupon code remains active if you wish to give it a try now. I will wait one day before I deactivate the coupon.

Good Luck!!

Al Aymer Lee
The Bits du Jour page for CYA shows that the offer has expired and although I can get to the order form it shows the regular price.

Can you supply the discount code so that I can complete the purchase with the discount price?

Thanks for your speedy replies.

CYA Software, Inc. Al Aymer - Your browser has cached the page and you will need to force the page to re-load.

Sometimes they can be stubborn.

Al Aymer Lee,
Per your suggestion I cleared the cache to no avail. PayPal still does not show up as a method of payment. FYI I tried this with all 3 of my browsers (Firefox, Chrome, & Internet Explorer).

Any further recommendations on how to use PayPal? I want to buy your product but your order page isn't cooperating.

CYA Software, Inc. Al Aymer - I really don't have an answer for you. FireFox browser on my computer does not show PayPal as an option but I went to another computer in our office and used both FireFox and IE. PayPal was available.

Something really weird is going on and I have yet to find an answer. I'm still working on it and will report back here if I discover something.

Pim Joosten I was looking at the version history (http://www.cya2day.com/revisions.htm) and I noticed that starting at version 2.6 the changes are rather "empty", if you know what I mean :) Is there any way for me to read what has been done in those versions?

FYI I usually check the version history to see if there might be a new major upgrade on its way and also how well a program is maintained.

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Jeff Carbello Thanks Pim that was my other question as I noticed same with release notes. I was curious to see what features were added over recent releases and noticed that their version history on website provides no information on what is included is most recent last 4 release versions.

CYA Software, Inc. Jeff and Pim - Thank you for your inquiry.

This question was asked several months ago. The short answer is that the documents were damaged beyond repair some time ago. We discovered it happened during a backup that came to rely on for restoration.

We are attempting to re-create the document but it has turned out to be a sizable process. We are trying.......

Jeff - To answer your question regarding attachments other than images. You may attach any type of document and as many as you wish to each item in your catalog.

Pim Joosten Thanks Lee for your quick reply. I thought I had read the previous comments, but perhaps a little bit too fast as I had not seen the same question had already been asked (otherwise I would not have asked of course :)

I do however have another question. The fine print states "Each license allows installation on all owned computers, and CYA - Computerize Your Assets may be used at exactly the same time on each of them.". The EULA however states "This Agreement entitles you to install and use one copy of the registered Software Product.", " This Agreement does not permit the installation or use of multiple copies of the Software Product, or the installation of the Software Product on more than one computer at any given time, ..." and "Multiple copy use or installation is only allowed if you obtain an appropriate licensing agreement for each user and each copy of the Software Product." I cannot match the fine print with these conditions. Can you please explain what applies to this BDJ deal?

Thanks again!

CYA Software, Inc. Pim - The software is registered to you as an individual. You may install CYA on as many computers as you desire.

I will research the discrepancy you speak of and see to it that it is made clear.

Thanks for the heads up.......

Jeff Carbello Thanks for the reply, great to hear that it supports unlimited attachments to each item and supports PDF as well as other type attachments.

One last question, does the software provide for user defined fields and then a way in a list view to sort by such fields?

CYA Software, Inc. Jeff, - There are no user defined fields available.

What in particular do you have in mind? We would be very interested in hearing any and all suggestions if you would care them with us.

Email us privately at supportcya2day.com if you prefer.

Thanks.
