Tortuga This seemed like an interesting prog. Then, read the "Fine Print" :O
1) 1PC only
2) Hardware footprint !!
3) ONLY 1 installation allowed, so NO re-installation
4) NO transfer allowed to another PC
Really ??!! Think I'll pass then
Peace

Thomas Duntze Hey Jan,
click on "Get it for free".
See below the big Continue button the little line to the right:
If ... no ... Facebook, take the eleven step questionaire.
It's a link with a few questions. After finishing, the download/order mask opens.

James Evans I agree with Tortuga above; Looks like a good piece of software but too many limitations on the license for me. Still, it is free and everyone makes their own decisions.

Most of the conversations I read on BDJ are from people that have several computers with lots of software and tweak things frequently, including reinstalls of software. Click "THE FINE PRINT" button above for the many conditions.

Sarsfield Man, how can you guys complain about free software? Limited to one PC? Who cares if it does the job. You can't move the file you want to repair to the computer you have the software on? Is that too hard? Some people would complain if the vendor paid you to use it. Thanks to the vendor and BDJ for this software, by the way.

MBe Hi, there is no need to activate the program.
It is activated after install.
My Firewall didn't tell me, that the program wants
to send data to the internet.
So no hardware footprint and so ...

I A Use infozip's command line tool zip.exe for this (google infozip)
zip.exe -FF badzip.zip

$50 for this app is way too much, For a GUI only $5-10 is more then enough, I'd pass on this one as it's pontless.

Joe Villarreal If I understand the fine print correctly, the software can be installed on one computer. I've got a dual booting computer, both Windows 7 and Windows 8. I should be able to use it on both operating systems right?

Peter C1 MODERATORS: Looks like there are some problems with Your BdJ pages at facebook and it seems that I cant prograss any further:

Facebook is working HOWEVER NOT BiTSDUJOUR PAGES on facebook:

You have asked Firefox to connect
securely to www.bitsdujour.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.
Normally, when you try to connect securely,

going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.

What Should I Do? (again in BOLD lettering)

If you usually connect to
this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is

Get me OUT of Here button

Technical Details (in BOLD letters)

I then clicked on the "Technical Details" bold print and the following appeared:

"The certificate expired on 10/10/2013 9:59 AM. The current time is 10/10/2013 4:46 PM."

Those times are Australian Eastern Standard Time.

Mr Dave If I understand the description, this program goes through a .zip file, recalculates the CRC values, and replaces any that are different. So it won't repair a damaged file within the .zip, but it will fool a zip program into thinking everything is ok. Is it possible to tell what files had the CRC values changed (in other words, which files within the .zip were corrupt)?

Either way, this could be very useful for recovering at least some files from a .zip that can't otherwise be opened. Thanks BDJ and DataNumen.
