wts @Dan There exist lots and lots of legacy applications using DBF & similar churning away every day doing their jobs fast and well. These would cost a fortune to update to current environments that - guess what - will themselves become legacy in a short time. These HiBase applications are incredibly useful. The world of apps was not born yesterday!

W User Have repeatedly tried to purchase at the $24.97 price. When I do this, I am taken to a site called "Payproglobal." After completing the information and selecting Paypal, I am transferred to Paypal to pay. At Paypal, the price is raised to a bit more than $44. This has repeated. I have contacted the tech support at 866-933-4313 three times. Each time, the lady on the tech support line (same one) has said that I must contact the software vendor, and that they (Payproglobal) do not "handle these issues." Please advise as to how to make the purchase of this product at the sale price.

HJ User Please explain what this program can do with an sql db file. I do not have a sql server. I have only an sql db file. Will this program open it? I have been provided with an sql db file that is approximately 1.8 gig in size.

If your product cannot open such a file, can you advise as to a product that can do so (other than a full fledged sql server installation)?

Neil User HJ USER You can download SQL Server express from Microsoft, which is free, if you have a SQL Server database that is under 10gb it will be able to open it. You'll also need SSMS as a GUI to interact with it.

Steve Coppard I feel a bit cheated. I purchased DBF Viewer as it is very good but when I checked out I found DBF Converter was also on the order and I had no way of removing it. I did not need this so ended up paying nearly £30 - way more than the $14.98 advertised here.

As far as DBF Viewer 2000 goes it is a great product. I have used another offering for some years but it is far less flexible, much slower and nowhere near as user friendly as your product which I shall be using a lot now. I also wish to clarify that I have no problem with DBF Converter, I just didnt need it!! I did register it but have now deleted it to be fair to you.

Branko Rakamaric I just bought viewer thru paypal and it show $16+. Somehow, they added converter into it and charge me $38+. I don't want converter. I download viewer and run install, and nothing was installed. I have windows 10 computer. What is going on here?

Robert Bull Same here. You only find you've been set up to buy the converter at the very end of the purchasing process, with no warning. I don 't want the converter either, just the viewer. HiBase Group should fix this, and so should Bits.

Constantin Florea @RayM, I am sorry about the confusion. The deal is not free. I checked and it seems there was an issue with the rendering of the deal: the deal was set up correctly to show a price of $14.98 for the "DBF Viewer 2000 Personal License" but because of the rendering issue, it was showing up as free/$0.00.
