Michael R. Having bought DriverGenius on BDJ in November 2013, I found out, that according to a changelog the current version v14 was published the very next month: in December 2013.

So, because the new version's arrival after such an extremely short time and because of the fact, that the old version is useless, because there are no database-updates any more for this version, I am wondering, if these customers have to purchase again or are entitled to a free upgrade?

Avanquest Software Hi Michael, Avanquest didn't publish Driver Genius v14 until March 2014. You should receive an upgrade notice in the product. Or you can just purchase v14 here as I think it's a better deal.

That's interesting: According to 'http://www.driver-soft.com/download.html', the release of Driver Genius 14 (Version:14.0.0.323) was dated to 22th Dec, 2013

Also interesting: When going to the site 'http://www.driver-soft.com/order.html' it says 'First year free upgrade!'. So, shouldn't this v14 be a free upgrade for v12 users who bought after May 2013?

Joe M Paula Carlsen. I have received 7 upgrade promotion offer emails from Avanquest dated 04/08/2014 to 04/20/2014 for a download to upgrade from 12 to 14 for $14.95. That is a better price then what I see here on BDJ. I received the first email 2 days after my one year date of purchase of version 12.

Roderick Nicolson Over the last couple of years I've become very wary of these Driver Updaters simply because I've had some bad experiences with them ruining my computer's systems. The last one I used was Ashampoo's Advanced Driver Updater. It installed an upgrade for my USB and it's never been right since - even after using the restore. It obviously did some damage to the system. They gave up trying to help me solve it in the end and left me stranded with no fix for the problem.
So just putting out a warning to be careful when using this kind of program. Just be sure it's offering you the right drivers for your computer. Perhaps the creator of Driver Genius will say something about this one.

Joe M Roderick Nicolson. I have used version 10, 11 and 12 of Drive Genius since 2010 and I don't ever remembering any problems with it.

You might want to try Slim Driver update software. The free version will find all of your outdated drivers but you will have to download them separately.
So will the trial version of Driver Genius. Why not compare the two to see what they find. Buy purchasing either program they will update the drivers automatically.
I don't know if Slim Driver will allow you to reinstall old drivers, but Driver Genius will.
Driver Genius will make a backup of all the drivers on your computer. It will also allow you to reinstall and older driver in case you have a problem with the new driver. This is a good feature.

Justin Cram forget it I to purchased lifetime upgraded supposedly if purchased through steampowered.com I have screen captures of the person representing the company promising lifetime etc..I used it very clunky crappy experience indeed

might I suggest to everyone even myself to forget buying this crap and just Google DRP version 13 or 12.5 hands down best driver downloaded ever and guess what it's free!

Are customers that purchased Driver Genius 12 within one year of the initial release of Driver Genius 14 entitled to the free major upgrade (according to your link)?
