Colin McAllister Hi.
The program correctly identified my test cd (MediaMonkey did not!), so that was good. The disc was part od a 2-cd set and it took me ages to name the Disc-1 files in MediaMonkey, so I was keen to see how well Easy Audio Copy worked.

The speed of rippping was acceptable, but when I checked the bitrate, it ranged between 174 and 218kbps. I understand the point about portable music players and whether quality is noticable, but I often listen to my mp3s at home on a decent set of speakers, so I always rip at 320kbps - even on portable media players memory is rarely a problem. So, is there any way to set the bitrate (in my case to 320)?

Also, the program sends the files to a folder "MP3" in a "Music" folder in "Libraries" I already have a "Music" folder within "Libraries. It may be better IMHO if I could set a path and folder name myself, instead of having to allow everything to dump into your default "MP3" folder, and then have to move the files into another folder that agrees with my naming system. Thanks.

Andre User Thanks for your comments!

On the main download webpage at http://www.easyaudiocopy....wnload.htm there is an advanced configuration tool for download, which allows you to set such advanced options.

You are e.g. able to set the exact compressions parameters (for the LAME encoder) and set the output paths for each compressor separately (but beware, the folder must exist and there should be no misspelling in it, as it just accept what you specify). If there are any problems, you can always reset all settings to default within the tool.

JW In terms of extracting audio files from CDs, how does this program confirm that its resulting file is accurately extracted? Does it refer to a 'master' database to compare checksums in the way that EAC (Exact Audio Copy!) does?
Can you enter the Composers/Performers data?
Is this program looking to function with Blu-ray Audio in a similar fashion to CDs (which are getting to be 'old hat' nowadays)? Or how about DVD-Audio?

Personally, I'm only interested in its WAV or FLAC performance, so will be looking to compare with other extraction methods using those formats.

Colin McAllister Hi Andre.
I used the advanced configuration tool and was able to rip at 320kbps. Again Easy Audio Copy found the Cd-1 filenames without problem. I'm assuming that once you set the parameters with the config tool they are "remembered" and only changed if actively manually changed.

Ordered.

Thanks.

Andre User @JW
Easy Audio Copy does both, it checks against an online checksum database and will read several times if something doesn't match.

You are able to change titles, artists and composers.

It will only work with standard CD-Audio, but not with Blu-Ray Audio (extracting this is very difficult and needs specific hardware) nor DVD-Audio.

@Colin
Yes, the settings will be remembered until you do change them again.

JW I see from the EAC Forum that a request for enabling the program to be run in a scalable window was made back in 2016. We are in 2020 now and by all accounts this still isn't feasible.
Is the rewrite to v2 (which 'could' apparently permit this change) on the horizon at all? [The full screen display on my big Dell monitor is visually rather overpowering!!]
